"Well, looks like the gang's mostly here. Where the hell is Johnny?"

 

" He had something to do, said that he's gonna be back soon. " Cleo responded. " Me and Cherry here were going to head to the theatre and get some stuff to block the windows. We need nails and hammers, as well as boards. Tables just don't cut it." The pony then paused, looking thoughtful. " Since Johnny's gone, I'm in command now. So y'all do what I say." She grinned.

 

Hmm... What should be my first order? Something reasonable, so that they'll follow it. An idea struck her. " Everyone other than Cherry should go and check for any more gaps in our defenses." Smart and simple.

"Wait. Before you all go, I have a scout report." A green grid of the surrounding area appeared with a flash of his horn. "We are completely surrounded by bandits who take orders from a stallion named Steel. He is responsible for the train explosion and is the boss of the mysterious green pony we keep seeing."

Their pictures flashed on the magic projection. "Another pony of interest is a mare named Heartbeat. She is the other force in the city. Where Steel is cruel, she is methodical. She wants Steel out but cannot do that with her numbers." Heartbeat's picture flashed on the projection. "Back to our current problem. They as in Steel have snipers set all around the perimeter. I'm guessing they are attempting to contain us and either starve us out or clear it when we are vulnerable. There might also be a chance they have some sort of biological weapon they might use against us. I suspect this because every single sniper is upwind of the school. But that doesn't mean there are blind spots." The green projection faded. "My tactical opinion, either we buckle down and expect an all out attack, or worse, we should probably grab what we can and find a way out of here. End report"

 

"This is like when I was back in the military" Straight thought to himself.

"How about a no, commander?" He laughed.

Redstorm turned around to hear Straight Shot's report.

"Good work, private. Now get some rest in the "barracks"." He said jokingly.

"How are we even gonna get to Heartbeat, whoever that is, when the snipers are everywhere? Maybe she just wants Steel gone, then she'll kill us?"

"As far as I'm concerned, Heartbeat knows if we're dead, she's next on the chopping block. So either there is going to be some backstabbing soon or we might get backup from her and her company." Straight lit a cigarette. "And if you were military, I wouldn't hesitate to have you publicly beaten as an example to not forget rank. I'm a captain remember. But I'll chalk this up as a civilian blunder and go about the rest of my day. I'll take my leave and try to find a way out that's not covered by a scope."

Blue stuffed the vents and any other crawling space with thorns and vines, "this should keep them out for a while" he peeked into the vent seeing if he missed any gaps "all good" Blue made his way to the cafeteria only to find it in a mess "looks like somepony had put p a fight.... a food fight"

Blue chuckled to himself and made his way to the group upstairs

Straight passed a pony with a sniper rifle that could take somepony's head off.

"Hunting elephants?"

Straight passed him towards the lower levels. Passed a messy cafeteria, passed a few storerooms. Where no scopes could touch him. There he lit another cigarette and looked for a way out.

"nah mate, I'm shooting down jumbo-jets" Blue chuckled at Straight's remark and climbed the flight of stairs and into his dorm room.

"cozy.... heh?" Blue looked out of his window and looked around "wonder how long we're gonna be here?" Blue pulled out his radio and waved the antenna out of the window trying to get a signal "Hello? Anypony respond please!" Blue said the the mic

Jonny came back, he entered the university after leaving for something "Everypony!  I HAVE THE SOLUTION TO OUR GATE PROBLEM!" he yelled out, above him was floating a piece of the train wreckage, he set it down, feeling tired, he knelt down, panting, waiting for the group

Blue heard Jonny downstairs trying to announce something, Blue pakced his radio and headed down stairs

"whats up?.... why did you carry that all the way here? isn't it a bit too heavy for you?" Blue looked at the piece of train wreckage in confusion, "I hope you know what you're doing"

Johnny was still tired out "im going....use...the wreckage... to fortify the gate....i can....ican use my magic...to weld a gate....out of the train parts" he stopped talking catching his breath "whew....i need to practice heavy lifting heh..." he rested against the wreckage, resting

(wondering how he got the wreakage past the snipers but oh well)

 

Straight Shot couldn't see anything down in the basements of the university. A simple light spell fixed that which revealed the usual things, old desks, cold furnaces.

 

"If I was the city builder, where would I put the sewer down here?"

 

Straight had never been to Fillydelphia, but the industrialization made the city prosper. Throttlesky remembered when the city tried to advertise that Fillydelphia was the most advanced city in Equestria due to it's non-magical production, they advertised that they rebuilt everything. 

 

"I hope everything includes the sewers." Straight shouted up to the others. "Hey could I get some help down here? There might be a way out we can use!"

"Hmm-hm? And if they use their explosives? They'd break the gate with their dynamite like it was a twig!"

Redstorm heard Straight's voice and ran down to the basement.

"Basement? What's in here? And make it quick, it's freezing... and creepy." He looked around and shuddered. Redstorm never really liked dark places. Horror stories that his friends had told him before the war played their role here.

"Relax. There's nothing but storage down here. Maybe we can find a back door entrance here."

Straight started knocking on the walls trying to hear if there were any kind of passages.

"Try the other rooms. Just don't shoot me if I come around the corner please."

Cherry stared in bewilderment at the piece of train reckage that sat in front of her. She was about to ask Johny could lift something so big but heard one of the ponies call up from downstairs.

 

Cherry yelled back to them as she walked down to the basement. "Oh, by the way. Down there should be a door leading to a sewage system. It runs under almost the whole city but quite a lot of it is blocked off by snow."

"Snow? How did that get in there?" Straight answered back. He rounded a corner to find a pile of snow leading out of an open door to the sewer. "Dammit! We could dig our way out if the snow isn't iced over anypony know any heat spells?" Straight looked back upstairs for an answer. Hopefully somepony did.

"oh of course they could, but i do know explosives are hard to come by and difficult to produce, unless you know what you are doing, besides, i think we would all be safer with a fortified gate that always has at least one pony watching guard,  that a decorative iron gate"

Johnny faced him "i recently learned some heat based spells, what do you need?"

"The sewers is blocked off by snow. If we can melt it, then we got a backdoor in cause shit hits the fan." Straight reported.

Suddenly a growl filled the room coming from Straight's stomach

"I'm gonna make something to eat if anyone wants any. I found some goodies while scouting. How does a stew sound?"

"Yup, sign me up! I'm all for stew!"

Redstorm used it as an excuse to get out of the dark basement. He hated stew, but it was freezing down there.

"You know what, I'll just make it myself! My own way!"

Before Straight could say anything, Redstorm had already grabbed some stew components and was now heading upstairs.

*Let the unicorns melt their snow themselves...*

He DID feel his stomach grumbling, so he ate one of the carrots.

*Tastes funny... did I just ate a stale carrot?*

Suddenly, he heard a quiet voice. It was scratchy and somewhat creepy.

The voice became louder. And louder. The gibberish became a scream untill it was unbearable.

It was like a thousand mares screaming at once. And then it stopped.

Redstorm laughed nervously.

"Okay, guys! Not funny! Quit the unicorn magic!"

He shook his head and started walking towards his room.

When he opened the door, he was greeted by a pony. He couldn't tell, was it a mare or a stallion because it had cuts all over itself.

It's stomach was cut open and his stomach contents were hanging out of there.

It's eyes were filled with blood, that slowly dripped down it's face.

Redstorm noticed it. It was one of the characters from his friends horror stories.

"AAAAAAAAHHHH!!!"

The pony grinned and tilted it's head.

Redstorm ran out the room.

He could now hear more screams than ever, and the hallucinations were everywhere.

"NO WAY! AAAAGHH!"

A pot shattered as he backed away. He was now running around the room, surrounded by the hallucinations.

Cleo had just trotted down to the basement when he saw Redstorm running around. She blinked for a moment. What the fu- Cleo was interrupted mid-thought when the pot shattered. Better grab him before he does any more trouble. With a quick leap, she had pinned Redstorm to the floor.

In Red's eyes, Cleo was just another monster.

"GET AWAY!"

He pushed Cleo off and got up. The monsters were absolutely everywhere now.

"THIS IS SICK!"

A loud *Bang* was heard as Redstorm took a shot at one of the hallucinations. And another one.

Red had backed off into a corner, and was now shooting randomly.

The hallucinations became to slowly fade away. Redstorm dropped his rifle and sat against a wall, he hadn't noticed Cleo yet.

He covered his face with his hooves and started sobbing.

"No more... no more, please... please..."

I think I've seen this before... They used to do this in the military, when they needed answers from the enemy... I never liked it, hearing their screams. Cleo shuddered, looking at Redstorm. She approached him quietly, and sat down beside him. 

 

" Redstorm. There's nopony here other than me and the rest of the team. You're experiencing severe hallucinations, they are not real. They will never be real."

Redstorm took his hooves off his face and took a deep breath.

"Okay! All good!"

A small grin covered his face.

"I was just messing with you! Seriously! I'm totally fine!"

He jumped up and started walking off, stopping just before his room.

"Mmmmhh.... Fine!"

He turned back to Cleo.

"I saw some pretty nasty stuff right now... and I think I'm mentally sick."

Blue watched Red run like a mad pony across the hallway from his room, "..... well... sanity is officially dead" Blue frowned and heard gunshots as he made his way towards the end of the hallway where Red sat "Hey whats with Red?" Blue readied his revolver just in case stuff went downhill "Red? you okay?" Blue slowly approached Red

Cleo shook her head. " No, you're not. Those illusions had been triggered by something, I've seen their kind before. You saw a nightmare of yours, right? The military used to use it on the enemy to get answers, it was a way to get answers. Someone must've poisoned you."

" He'll be fine, it wears off. But he might get more flashes..."

Raze, hearing the gunshots, quickly grabbed his rifle and ran towards the source. There, he found Red, looking somewhat mentally unstable.

 

"Red? What's going on with you?" He slowly approached him.

 

Well this is great... our leader has officially lost his grip on reality, he thought to himself.

(Once again, I might not be able to post on here because of more exams. Sorry for having to leave you guys again...)
