Princess Periwinkle 3,775 July 2, 2013 Share July 2, 2013 (edited) It's always kinda made me wonder why it was necessary for posts to be moderated before they were posted as opposed to after like in all the other forum sections. What this does is it makes it take longer for a user to receive help, and makes many questions get numerous ninja'd responses that are practically the same. Could we just have the posts moderated after posting, or is there a problem with bad advice coming from users? Jokuc 8,173 July 2, 2013 Share July 2, 2013 I don't really see the ninja thing as a big problem, but I suppose this is because the moderators wants to make sure the answers are correct before the asker reads them so they won't get answers like "if you donate you will get a brony badge". Not that anypony will say that, but you know what I mean. Also, I haven't experienced that it takes that long time for the moderators to approve the posts in that section. They are quite quick actually. THOUGH, SUPPORT TICKETS IS ANOTHER STORY >=(

THOUGH, SUPPORT TICKETS IS ANOTHER STORY >=( Only tickets that should take any amount of time anymore are Mod Disputes, which require thought on many occasions. Tech Tickets get killed by Lavo when Feld0 isn't around now, and General Questions should get answered relatively quickly. That said, there's always going to be times where people are busy :3 We are volunteers, after all. Gotta have patience. -- It's the 'bad/unhelpful answer' reasoning. I get that ninjaing annoys folks, but this is not a race. Members should come into this section with the mindset to make clear and concise posts, exercising detail when necessary, and that's all. Posting so you get your answer in before others shouldn't be an objective. Because the staff then choose the best answer from everything that's been posted. And, honestly, some repetition isn't a bad thing in this situation. People explain things differently. The OP and future people looking for answers in a given thread may find your post to be far more helpful than even the 'Best Answer' post, which is usually chosen from clarity, detail and accuracy. All in all, the moderation que for posts may seem irritating, but it's definitely got a purpose :3

Others are just downright unreadable unfortunately and being able to sort the good questions from the bad is mighty helpful. That said, the tech support team normally responds within a reasonable time period. I know that I myself when I'm online answer questions the moment they pop up if possible. Goddamn right, you should be scared of me Twitter
Zygen 6,066 July 4, 2013 Share July 4, 2013 Well i don't really get bothered by it, sure alot of times other people answer or staff members answer them, but the point of the threads to have questions answered, so if it gets answered the purpose is fulfilled . Its just for false advice not to confuse members. Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig!
