Nightshade smiled.  "Wonderful," she said, grabbing a small coin pouch.

Psych glanced at Inks with a small smile.  He didn't seem to be too comfortable.  "I'm Psych Ward," she said softly.  She didn't say what she was majoring in.  She didn't quite know yet.  Ponies like her didn't tend to get too far.

Inks gave a grim smile. He nodded towards his flank . "I don't know what my plan is. I have a weak idea, but not a plan. I think I might want to be an author. I don't know. And um.. You can call me Inks. It's uh.. nice to meet you Light Eye... and you too Psych Ward." Inks wasn't the type of pony that would call a pony by a shorten name until he was asked to or was comfortable with the pony in question.

Whirl Wake spoke up. "Oh! I'm Whirl Wake, by the way. Nice to meet you two." He thought for a second before continuing. "I want to study medicine. It's been a passion of mine ever since I was a little colt." He scratched his neck. "I plan on becoming a pharmacist in Canterlot after this. I hear it pays very well, and I'm excited to be helping ponies in need."

"Well, it's nice to meet you all," Light Eye said. "You can call me Light if you so decide. I'm good for anything." Two more attractive stallions to hang out with. This was going quite splendidly. "What are you in the mood for? I'll eat anything." They grew closer to the building, despite the massive crowd inhibiting easy motion.

Cinder stood up again, everything she was going to need already in her in the various pouches she wore. "I'll follow you, if thats ok? Don't want to get lost."

 

She opened the door and waited for her roommate to leave so that she wouldn't have to take the lead.

"What are you in the mood for? I'll eat anything." They grew closer to the building, despite the massive crowd inhibiting easy motion.

Whirl Wake shrugged, trying to stay cool around the two mares. "I'm fine with whatever they have in the cafeteria." He recalled listening to the announcement from earlier. "Didn't that lady on the speaker say we weren't allowed to leave campus for lunch if we were new?" He might have misinterpreted the speech.

"I um... I think she said we could leave... but we could stay out for as long as we wanted if we were new. And wherever we're going is okay with me, I um... I don't really mind where we eat." Although Whirl Wake seemed to be fine around these two ponies, Inks was not. He thought that both of these mares were nice. And nice looking. His mane fell into his face slightly again. He sighed in frustration and blew it back up.

"Oh, on a college campus, you don't have a cafeteria. You have a number of restaurants, all of which operate and you can get your food from any one of them that you want! The off-campus thing probably refers to if you want to go grab food at one of the off-campus locations, which are naturally a lot further away, but tend to be of a higher quality." Light Eye was casually and gradually working her way closer and closer to the two stallions.

Inks noticed the mare inching her way closer to himself and Whirl Wake. It made him slightly uncomfortable, but he was too polite to move away. He didn't want to make her feel bad.  "Oh I uh... I see. I don't really... um... know how this whole thing works. Probably should though." Inks cleared his throat. It felt very dry all of a sudden.

When the announcement came on and informed them that it was lunch time, Ciel quickly put away her things and trotted out of her room. She was a bit put off by the lack of appearance by her roommate, as she had been mentally preparing herself for any scenario that they came across. Maybe she's just running a little late or something.

 

She unfolded the map of the campus that she had picked up in the lobby and navigated her way to the cafe. She wasn't all too hungry, so she figured she would just get something from the snack bar. Upon reaching the cafe, she noticed a few ponies sitting down or purchasing meals, and briefly thought about approaching them. Then she shook her head vigorously. She didn't want to approach somepony and get brushed off, that would be so embara-- Suddenly she found herself flying forward as her leg caught on a table leg.

"Whoa-WHAA!" She shrieked, her face smacking against the floor. She got up quickly, brushing the dirt off with her magic and scampered into line.

 

After getting her snack- two apples and a bottle of daisy tea- she went to sit down at a table by herself so she could wallow in embarrassment and self pity.

Whirl Wake smiled. "Oh, that's cool." He raised an eyebrow. "Probably should have done a bit of research before I jumped into college. I barely know a thing!" He noticed Light slowing inching towards him, with Inks, in response looking even more anxious. Whirl Wake let out am amused chuckle before looking back up to see a sign saying "Food Court". "I think we've arrived." He pushed open the doors, revealing an enormous room, the sides stamped with all different kinds of restaurants. "So, you guys wanna eat here or go somewhere out of campus?"

"Hm..." Light Eye looked around. "I suppose you two already have your  meal plans laid out, I hope? I'm covering for Psych Ward, but if you guys need to purchase yours, I can cover you two for today as well. As for location, we were undecided on where we wanted to each, so it's up to the two of you young, strapping stallions to decide location." Light Eye looked up and down the two stallions with a promiscuous and intelligent glimmer in her eye.

Inks knew at that moment that he had turned visibly red. He gave a sheepish smile to the mare. "I um... I have.. I uh.. I have bits..." He realized he had forgotten his hat, which he usually kept his bits in. He then gave an even more sheepish smile. "Actually I... I don't exactly have any bits. But uh... I'd hate to impose. I'm not really that hungry anyway..."

Whirl Wake laughed warmly. "Surely us 'young, strapping stallions' wouldn't be fit for the task of selecting the meals for these two..." He thought for a second and grinned mischievously. "fine, beauteous mares." Whirl Wake laughed again, looking around the food court for something good. "Why don't we walk around a bit and then pick one? I don't even know what these places serve!"

"You don't have any bits at all? Didn't you register for a meal plan? It's a fairly common thing, especially for a first year student. Go talk to the registrar tomorrow, they'll get you sorted out. I can loan you a meal for today." She seemed concerned about this. How had these people expected to eat in college? It's not like they just gave away food for free. "Don't worry about it at all. I've got plenty and I'm a fairly light eater anyway." 

 

At the comment from Whirl, she grinned. "That sounds rather excellent. I'm rather fond of hayburgers myself, but there's not much I won't eat when pushed to it." She moseyed right up to the stallion. "Lead the way, good sir."

"Of course," Nightshade nodded, stepping out of the dorm and slowly making her way through the halls.

Psych had been silent the entire time, instead of moving closer like Light was doing, she had slowly moved farther away.  She looked up.  "Hayburgers sound fine," she nodded.

Inks fumbled over his words so the mare wouldn't think he was broke. "N-no it's not that I don't have bits it's just I keep them in my hat and I left my hat in my dorm so now I don't have any bits but really I'm not hungry it's fine." He had gotten the words out pretty quickly, causing them to mesh into one sentence. He cleared his throat again. "I left my bits in my dorm. And I'm fine. Really."

Whirl Wake nodded. "I'm fine with that." He pointed over to a restaurant, one that he could clearly see the menu of from his location. 'Hayburgers! There we are!' He thought. "That seems like a nice place. Let's go!" He pulled out a bag of bits from under his wing as he trotted towards the cashier

I promise.  In fact, you might just upset me if you don't." She scrunched up her lips and made her eyes water, making a big show out of all of it. "Oh, woe is me!, woe is me! I was not able to help a poor pony that I met!" Not very believable, but she made up for it with theatrics.

Inks grinned at Light's act. His ears perked up and he gave himself a face-hoof. He had the teleportation spell! He had gotten pretty good at it recently, enough where it was almost a blink. So he decided to test it out. His horn glowed a dark green and he disappeared. He reappeared in his room, grabbed his hat quickly, and blinked back to the group. He deftly put his hat back on and held out a pouch. He gave Light yet another sheepish grin. "Nevermind."

Psych Ward found herself able to laugh softly.  "Just let her pay for you food," she whispered to the stallion.  "You're never gonna hear the end of it if you don't."  She quickly stepped away, deciding she was too close.  She checked to make sure her pills were still in the small pocket of her saddlebag.

Light Eye looked genuinely let down that she wasn't able to pay for Inks, but shook it off. "That's a nifty trick. I'll have to keep it in mind in case we ever get into any... shenanigans. But I thought that teleportation magic was extremely high level? Are you a very gifted unicorn or something?" She was very curious, and moved a little closer to him. On some level, she had always equated physical distance and intimacy, so she barely even noticed when she moved closer or further away relative to a pony.

Steeleye had arrived soon after the announcement. Meals were typically an easy choice for him. The cook in charge of the Eastern style booth made superb noodles and Steeleye had a permenant discount after he had volunteered to help the chef through a tight spot sometime in the past. So Steeleye sat down at one of the tables near the center of the Food Court, where many ponies tended to walk by on their way to one place or the other. A small sign was jotted down quickly on a hoofheld chalk board which he sat against the napkin holder so that other ponies could read it. 'Fortune Readings and Tarot Cards, no payment or payback accepted' the chalk words read. "Come and get your hoof read!" he said in a friendly manner to Psych Ward, Light Eye, and the group around them. "I promise I don't bite... much." He smiled and pulled out a card deck with his magic. The cards flew from a disorganized heap through the air in fascinating patterns until they finally settled in perfect order next to him.

Inks once again noticed that she was moving closer to him. "It's not um... too advanced. It uh, took some practice though. And I still haven't quite perfected it." He was starting to feel comfortable around this mare, even though she was obviously hitting on him in some way, shape, or form. He smiled at her. "And trust me. If I had let you pay for me I would be about as down as you feel." He looked over at the unicorn talking to them. He didn't say anything, but he thought it would be an interesting experience. He stayed in his spot however, not wanting to be rude to Light.

Whirl Wake turned to see the pony trying to get their attention. He marveled at his magic abilities as the strange stallion made beautiful patterns with his deck of cards. "Hey guys, come check this out!" He said to his friends. Whirl trotted over to the pony, watching him do more amazing things with the cards.
