Mane 6 Princess Promotion requirements

Lauren Faust once said that she had wanted the entire Mane Six to become princesses.

 

Consider for a moment exactly how much Twilight had to go through to become one.  She had to redeem Nightmare Moon, save the Crystal Empire, capture Discord, and invent new magic!  Gee, Celestia, anything else?  Do your laundry?  (Explain to me again what Cadance had to do to become one?  She was born one?  Well, lucky her.)

 

What do you think the others should be required to do to earn Alicorn status?

I read Lauren Faust only wanted 2 alicorns, but know it appears all princess are alicorns so what she wants hardly matters I guess. Cadance became an alicorn after mastering love or something like that. On to the main question. I don't think any of the other ponies are going to be an alicorn or a princess, but if they did I guess they would have to master their element.

I don't think it'll happen,but who knows. I couldn't Imagine Dashie as a Princess, at all.

As for what they'd have to do

 

 

Fluttershy: Tame some wild beast, something pure evil.

 

Dashie: No idea, maybe prove her loyalty to the Wonderbolts?

 

Rarity: Make a bunch of dresses and give them all away?

 

Applejack: Become an honest salespony?

 

Pinkie PIe: throw a big ass party inviting everypony.

 

 

 

I don't think it'll happen though...as Princesses are Alicorns,and if everypony was an alicorn, I think it'd be a boring show.

I don't think it'll happen,but who knows. I couldn't Imagine Dashie as a Princess, at all.

 

Applejack has princess potential.  Good head on her shoulders, even tempered, leadership qualities.

 

Fluttershy could be one if she wasn't so timid.

 

Rainbow Dash is a capable leader, but has issues with pride and patience.

 

Neither Rarity nor Pinkie Pie have shown princess-level qualities.  They have some good aspects about them, but fall far short of princess-level.

 

 

As for what they'd have to do

You bring up some interesting ideas.  Perhaps each just needs to conquor some great obstical.  You pointed that out best with Fluttershy.  Maybe:

 

• Rainbow Dash should force herself to accept something personally humiliating for the good of others.
• Fluttershy should face down her biggest, insurmountable fear.
• Pinkie Pie should...I don't know.  Pinkie Pie is too chaotic to the point of almost being irredeemable.
• Rarity should give up her heart's desire.

Well we are never told how cadence becomes an alicorn, but my own personal theory would be that it is mastery of your "element" to the extent of full selflessness.

 

I think you can have to many princesses though, I'm not sure I would want any more in the show now as it would kind of make it a bt of a worthless title , It doesn't feel as much has changed currently as Twi has always been being trained and seen to have special "magical" ability from a young age (not to say the others don't have special ability, they are all elements of harmony after all ;P).

I think the way to become a princess is really executing your element, and learning a lot of new lessons that you can maintain at the same time by learning the meaning of friendship at the highest calibur.

So like someone said above, Fluttershy would have to tame a pure evil beast. Or at least reform them. (Umm Discord?)

 

Rainbow Dash would have to fly across the world in x amount of days? (I dunno!)

 

Rarity would have to team up with Apple Jack and aid and make peace with the changeling kingdom/Queen Chrysalis.

 

Pinkie Pie...I have no clue. Maybe she should help Rarity and AJ.

Yeah... now the statement "Twilight won't outlive her friends" really starts to make sense... but anyway! I'm not sure what the promotion requirement should be, the only thing I can think of is having Twilight's friends help her on an epic journey and complete a task that she, as an alicorn, wouldn't be able to do by herself even with her new powers.

 

I honestly don't know, I don't want this to happen anyway. I kind of like the diversity of the mane 6 in terms of unicorn / pegasus / earth pony.

It would ruin the whole idea that there are two ponies of each type (Before Twilight changing), so I don't think I'm for it. However, it definitely would be interesting!
