Does the book say the have to be sacrificed?- steel pondered theses questions and more as he flew

Grand closed her eyes. "Just don't wait eight years, for your own sake" she says nodding her head and hobbling off in the direction they raced away. She knew already she wouldn't be catching up with them any time soo. She just hobbled through the forest. Memories attacking her, fire horns words attacked her especially.

Being hidden behind a tree, Zeta heard the entire conversation and slowly got up without anypony noticing. From there he trotted off to go find the three that had gone, since he knew about what may happen.

There he spotted Grand walking down as well, without her mechanical leg. It looks like she was having some trouble so he walked up to her and smiled.

"Need a lift?"

Grand was relieved to see him. " if you wouldn't mind" was all she said as she used him as support. "Steel and Stephan already ran ahead, but they need a pony with magic. I'm not sure how powerful they need to be, but i assume that unicorn might have to do. That means one of us" she said, a little tired

Stephan stopped in his tracks AGAIN and ran back to Grand and Zeta. "I knew I could count on you guys. C'mon. Let's go save Equestria." Stephan began running again, but he ran at a pace slow enough for the others to run or fly alongside him.

Fire Horn turned to Missy, she was sitting next to where Starburst was now buried.

"I'm not moving, i'm staying here, with him. I'm never going to leave him again." Missy said.

"Missy..." Fire Horn began, then he looked at the bottle and in the direction they ran off in. "Wait here!"

Fire Horn ran where the others where the others stood.

"I never said i was finished with you, just why do you think you can just saunter off?" Fire Horn asked drunkedly. Missy came up behind him and smacked him on the back of the head with her hoof.
"Shut up! Stop abusing your friends, start being a leader!" Missy shouted into his face, smacking him a few more times. "Let's just go to this shrine and get it over with."

Grand smiled at the two. "I'm glad your joining us" she said with a slight smile, walking next to zeta. She figured it wasn't worth attempting to run. "Let's get to this shrine then, shall we? She said to them, determined to fi d the cure and prevent anymore unnecessary death and anguish

Stephan got up in Fire's face. "I don't have to listen to you, Fire! I never had to! I could've done ALL of this within a day's time, but I didn't. Why? Because I wanted to keep all of you safe." Stephan then looked at Missy. "So, you guys are coming? Good. We can't do this without everyone." He continued walking in the direction of the shrine.

"Sounds about right." He replied back to both Stephan and Grand. Zeta was still unsure about how she was walking, being the fact that it would take some time to get there so he offered something.

"Um, Grand.. If you don't mind, I could carry you down to the shrine from here on out. It's a long way, and you may get tired faster from having to walk like this. I'll be fine with you on my back, so don't worry."

Fire Horn felt nothing but contempt for Stephan at this moment, he felt like smashing the bottle over the back of his stupid little human head. But instead he walked off in the direction of the shrine.
"OK, Missy come on, we've got to get moving before it gets dark again." Fire Horn said.

Missy looked on the verge of tears again, but she looked backwards, then sighed and started walking.

Grand hesitated. "We'll, I suppose it would quicken the group" she said, a little unsure as she pulled herself I to his back. She felt silly as she laid there, like a child. "But as soon as we get there I'm walking again" she said, a little embarrassed. "Let's just hurry up then" she said quickly

"I'd know how you feel Grand, but don't think of it as weird since you know that a 40 year old man wouldn't care~"

So he continued to walk along again, not really feeling that she was there from having the armor on and the fact that he could already carry a ton on his back with no problem.

After a while, the atmosphere began to turn bitter. The grass began to make a crunching sound underneath them. Stephan looked at the map and shuddered a little. "Look out, guys. We're about to enter the tundra." Stephan could feel his legs getting cold, but he tried to ignore it and walked on.

It had been about 6 hours since they had left Starburst buried in the forest, they were walking through the cold tundra.

"Ponies still need heat, you know, we don't just produce it from our fur." Fire Horn said, a blizzard started, it was cutting into them like knives. "Everypony, get into that cave." Fire Horn ran towards it and Missy just wobbled over to it.

Grand bresthed in the crisp air. It was refreshing, "I haven't seen snow in ages! I forgot how lovely it looks" she said, examining the glittering white ground. " I'm not too heavy am I zeta?" Asked zeta, adjusting her weight. She shivered a bit and flicked her tail over her lower body, using it as a blanket of sorts.she curled up at the edge of the cave,watching the blizzard

Stephan shivered and put the map away. He walked into the cave, where it was still cold. "It's not much better, but it's not as cold in here as it is out there." He said, trying to keep himself warm. He had a jacket, but no long pants. He sighed. "Why couldn't I have long pants in the transformation..." He asked himself.

"Not even mate~" Zeta smiled back and trotted in the deep snow with his armor that kept him somewhat warm. "You feel light as a feather, which is something I know girls would like to hear."

When the blizzard came, he quickly ran past everypony and into the cave, knowing that since Grand was sitting still she wouldn't be producing as much body heat compared to the others. "Whew, there we go.."

Hearth realizes that the group has gone on. He sighs and realizes that it's time to stop living in the past. He goes to his hut and packs up some things and steps out. He feels strangely less empty inside. He begins to walk in a random direction, feeling the air around him get noticeably colder as he goes.

Grand brushed herself off and stretched before she settled down into the cave. The blizzard was powerful. She could only see white outside of the cave. "We'll it looks like we're stuck here for awhile" she said, walking over to where the others were. "I guess we have to wait"

Missy sat next to the entrance of the cave, letting the knives of ice hit her, she felt no pain,not even the slightest bit. All she wanted was to see Starburst again, to hear him speak in his cute and charming voice. But that would not be, ever again, he was dead.

 

Fire Horn took a small lump of wood out of his saddlebag, smashed the bottle over it and lit it with his horn, a fire was produced.

"Listen, Stephan, i'm sorry about earlier, and Grand, i can't even begin to find a way to excuse myself for what i said to you." Fire Horn said solemnly.

Grand smiled . " it's fine. I wasn't much better when I lost my sister, at least you've started to recover much healthier than I did." She said smiling, though she was concerned for missy. The look in her eyes was too familiar to her. Hopefully she wouldn't do anything dangerous or harmful

Stephan got up. "You know what, Fire, I'm sorry, too." He said. "I'm way too kind-hearted for my own good. I just want all of this to end so we can live in a peaceful Equestria again, but I guess my thinking gets in the way of the inevitable." He slammed his fist on the cave. "What if Missy does have to die, Fire?"

Hearth felt snow begin to hit him dangerously. He'd seen this kind of storm before. He pulled his bandana over his face, he knew he was strong enough to walk through this, he didn't like it, but he wanted to stay moving. His vest would keep him from freezing for a few hours, but not forever. "Father, guide me through this." He says brushing the through the snow, halfway to his stomach.

In the cave, he let Grand get down and helped her to settle on the floor of the cave. Meanwhile he walked away to the opposite side and laid down, his armor giving off a little heat from being warm.

"It seems like we all have losses, some may even be before the outbreak.."
