Missy's mane flowed in the strong currents of the blizzard. It hadn't been washed in days, maybe it would rain once they were past this.

Grand looked out to see a familiar figure trotting through the snow. "Hearth! Over here! Get out if that snow" she yelled, waving her hoof at him, hoping he could see her or hear her through the worsening blizzard. She watched him, hoping he saw them, though the cave blended right into the cold tundra

Stephan stepped back as if he were pushed back by a gun blast. "B-but, Fire, I've never killed anyone before, no one except for a couple thousand trotters, but that's different. I can't kill a live, breathing being... but, if that's what you really want... I'll do it for you..." He said, under his breath.

Hearth heard a voice that was nice to hear. He saw a few shadows moving around, and he pushed himself through the snow. When he'd finally gotten to the cave, he was relieved. "Howdy, I thought this wasn't the last I'd see of y'all." He sat down and pulled out a cigar. He lit it and had a few puffs off of it. "Don't worry about the smoke, I won't be stayin' long." He says between puffs.

Steel looked around "we need to make air nothing else us in here zeta com with me in case there is something hostile" steel said "and firehorn if that is what you want and Stephan can't bring himself to do it I will, I done the same for my grandfather he wanted to die by the family dagger, that is the dagger I wild with my right hoof, so if you wish your own death when you have lost all you care for I shall deliver" steel added as he headed deeper into the cave

Missy saw that Zeta had put down his things, including his gun, so she levitated that carefully over to where she was standing, looking at it, almost as if it was all that mattered, she checked the amount of ammo in it, there was one bullet. Figures.

"Is this what my life ends on, after all my hard work, all my studying, all of the times my friends made me laugh, it all ends with the pull of a trigger." Missy started moving the gun slowly to the side of her head.

Hearth flicked the cigar away. His eyes drifted over toward Missy, his eyes were able to make out the silhouette of a gun. He picked up a rock with his magic and threw it at the gun. He then hopped up and grabbed her by the shoulders. "What do ya think yer doin'? "

He saw Missy starting to put the gun to her hear he threw a knife at the gun and his aim was spot on "somepony need to keep an eye on Missy she just tried to off herself" steel said " if you want to die than at least you can wait till we get to the shrine in case we have to sacrifice you and after that if we don't you can kill yourself deal?"steel added while walking up to her

Missy levitated the gun back and put it in her saddlebag, she turned to face Steel, anger in her eyes.

"Go to hell Steel, you don't get to decide, when I do or don't die, only I should have control over my own life." Missy said. "Isn't it easier for me to just shoot myself now? Stop the pain and join my son?"

Fire Horn sat staring, he had nothing to say.

"if you want your son death to be in vain than fine" steel pulls his dagger and handed it to Missy "do you're self in and let your sons sacrifice be in vain just remember that shows him no respect at all" steel added with a hard edge as and waited for her to decide.

"It's about time I go..." Hearth says standing up. He grabs his things and walks into the storm. "I hope you make the right decision, and if I meet up with your group again, I'll know." He shouts behind himself over the blizzard." He pushes himself through the blizzard and towards any destination.

"If you go perhaps you can say hi to my sister as well. But personally I would rather save more lives and avenge my sister. But perhaps you won't make the same decision" grand said, watching her. "No pony deserved to die, but they do! Your wasting one beautiful life by doing that, and life is rare these days" she had no right to stop her though, grand had been in the same spot at one point. "So, you want me to keep on living, because life is precious, because life is worth protecting." Missy said. "Well, what about after, what about when i'm dead, we go to this shrine, according to the legend i would have to sacrifice myself to this machine, then i leave Fire Horn to live a miserable life." Missy said. "If life is so precious, why don't i want it anymore?" Missy walked off into the blizzard, covering herself with her wings.

Zeta saw everything, but failed to do anything and let it slip from his hooves. Though Missy had taken his revolver, which he didn't really like, he ran out after her with armor and everything.

"Missy! Missy, here!" He shouted while catching up to her. Then from there he pulled out the rest of the ammo for it and put it in her saddlebag. "If you're leaving, then you may want to carry some more bullets with you. It's the least I can do, since nopony can help you anymore.."

Grand sat quietly. "Life is precious because there are thousands of others who were forced to give theirs up to those bloodthirsty monsters" she hoped missy had heard her, but she doubted it, only time would tell whether she would reappear again. "There's no reason to guilt her steel, not all of us can be as emotionless as you" she said, her voice had a cold edge

Missy turned to Zeta, hugged him and thanked him. "Tell Stephan not to come looking for me, i doubt he'd come out here in this storm, but do it anyway." Missy said, before walking away into the storm, she eventually reached the peak of a mountain where the storm was too low to affect. She noticed a ritual statue, meant for sacrificing evil-doers. Suddenly, a voice spoke behind her.

 

"Hello....Mum." The voice said.

Hearthsong picked a spot out in the blizzard. He just felt like he needed to get away from the drama. He turned the gun around and used the butt to shovel out some of the snow. After it was all dug-out, he took some wood from his bag. He lit up a nice bright fire, and sat around it. He wanted to cry, but it was too cold for tears. He just pulled out his violin and played a sad country tune on it.

Missy turned to Zeta, hugged him and thanked him. "Tell Stephan not to come looking for me, i doubt he'd come out here in this storm, but do it anyway." Missy said, before walking away into the storm.

"You got it, and take care of my gun." Zeta replied, letting out a little smile before watching her leave. Then he turned back inside the cave and went to his corner to lay down again.

The thoughts that came into his mind soon were not of sadness or fear, but of happiness that Missy would do well alone. And being so, he hoped that she would never take that gun to her head at anytime..

All Stephan did was watch with Fire Horn. All of this was happening too fast, even for him. Missy wanting to kill herself and her just storming out into the blizzard. He thought about going after Missy. He didn't want her to die out in the cold wasteland.

Stephan couldn't stand it. He tightened his jacket and pulled up his boots. " I'm going out into the blizzard to track down Missy. I won't let her die out there. She can't possibly survive out there for too long." He said, as he made his way to the exit of the cave.

Zeta immediately perked up and trotted in front of him, not letting him pass through. "I'm sorry, but I was given orders not to let you through here Stephan.."

Then he gave a little pause before continuing.

"As much as it pains me to admit, she needs to be alone right now so let her."

"Starburst? But..." Missy asked. But Starburst knew what she was going to say.

"...i died? I know, unforunate, but you can't do this to yourself, never mind you, why would you do this to Dad?" Starburst asked in response.

"I just wanted to see you, i didn't want to live in a world without you in it." Missy said, starting to cry "Besides, i'm just a tool to them, a metaphorical lamb to the slaughter, they don't want me to live to be their friend, they just want me to live to die. So why shouldn't I?" Missy responded.

"Just don't do it, please, also, maybe Dad misread the legend." Starburst said.

"What's that meant to mean?" Missy asked, but Starburst faded away, Missy started clutching at where he was, looking into the metal of part of the ritual statue with the gun to her head, she collapsed to the floor, partly from the cold, but mostly due to sadness.

Grand glared at steel. "I doubt you've been on the brink if suicide then. Well I have, and missy needs to decide for herself what's best. None if us have the right to stop her. I sincerely hope she doesn't, but what say do I have when the only reason I didn't die was because this group grabbed me before those trotters could get me"
