Hearth was having trouble aiming while running. He felt that if he stopped he'd hit it, but then he'd be dead for sure. He suddenly had a flashback at the most in opportune time.

His mind was angry, but he kept calm. He held his breathe, turned and fired. His shot was true, and took the nose from the Magma Goliath.

"You may think they're awesome, but they're the deadliest kind of creatures you can possibly imagine." Fire Horn said. "The deadliest is a creature called the Hand of Death, no-one knows what it looks like or does, because no-pony has ever survived an encounter with it."

"I hope we stay friends after all this is done, i mean, AJ and Pinkie are good, but they don't know how it feels to survive, someone who you can relate to, who's seen the horrors that the plague has brought - and we're gonna stop it." Missy said.

Grand smiled. "Your damn right were going to stop it" she said, watching the lava flow. "I hope we aren't stuck here too long, I've had enough of caves. Why couldn't we get trapped in a five star hotel or something" she said, leaning against the wall sleepily. "When was the last time I slept on a mattress"

"Well, I don't know about you Fire, but I'm ready to lay down under a tree and take a nice, long nap while basking in the sun. I'm not really in the mood to be fighting monsters right now." Stephan said. "But I just hope we can get out of here soon. Eventually, all of the lava will turn to ash, and then we can get out of here."

"We may not have a choice, if some creature feels like tearing us a new one, we're gonna have to fight it. We'll get there... eventually." Fire said before running into Steel. "Hey Steel, you find anything down here yet or are you just being paranoid again?"

steel wondered around the cave being sure to count steps so he could find his way back he hadn't found anything but bleak walls and obsidian "nice I could use some of this, I'll take it to a smith when I get back an get a nice new blade" steel said as he used his dagger to dig some out. As he walked on hebfollowed a right turn and came to a dead with a creature sleeping at the far end

((now would be a good time for firehorn and Stephan to find steel I'm thinking about ether a dragon or magma golelm))

Hearth ran and ran, but was getting tired. His pace was slowing, and his gun was feeling heavier. He didn't think it would end this way, he wanted to go out on his own terms. Suddenly, another flashback.

"Faster daddy faster, carry me faster!!" Came Isabelles happy voice.

He was fuming now. His rage was unmatched, and his spirit re-energized. He twirled around, time seeming to slow down. "ARRRRRRRGH!!!!" He screamed as the ball left his barrel, and tore through the other eye of the Goliath. The creature grasped its face, and a piece of it peeled of revealing a patch of flintstone in its head. With haste and grim thoughts, Hearth lept up and drove his bayonet clean though its stone skull. As the creature fell back, he jostled his gun around as he pulled it out. He began walking again, ignoring his burned hooves, and singed clothes.

Grand yawned and stood up, trying to shake off the sleepiness. She took a look outside to see yet again a figure she has seen so often. " it's hearth, he's out ther by himself!" She says, running up to the force field. She called out to him and waved her hooves, hoping he would see her

"well firehorn I found obsidian and that" steel said pointing to the sleeping creature as steel said this it began to stir but stayed asleep "I don't know if it's hostile or not but if it is then we need to kill it quickly or get out if the cave fast that thing looks gruesome" steel added

"You're right, it's Hearth." Missy said, lowering the forcefield, the lava had turned to ash already and the volcano had stopped. "Hearth Song, get in here, it's not safe out, what with all the dragons and other creatures roaming these planes.

Hearth saw Grand and wandered over to the cave entrance. He tripped a few times, almost seeming drunk. He finally managed his way to the cave and placed his hoof against the wall. He looked at Grand, but all he could see was his late-wife. "I'm sorry. I'll always love you." He said before blacking out.

Zeta's neck stood tall when watching Hearth fall to the ground after speaking it, running up to the force field as well to check out what happened. "Wait, what..? Did he just say what I just heard, or is it me? Anyway we better get him inside before anything bad happens."

Stephan looked over at the giant beast. It looked like some sort of hell spawn, with the giant teeth and horns. "Ummm... yeah. Let's get back to the group." Stephan said, wanting to get away from the thing.

"yea let's go" steel said but as they started to walk away the lava golem woke up and began to roar it was so loud that it echoed throughout the cave "ok so looks like we might have to fight this thing befor we go back I don't want lead it back to the grand missy and zeta" steel siad as he pulled his daggers

Missy heard A very loud roar coming from down into the cave, so she decided to go and check it out, a faint glow coming from her destination, she rounded the corner, it was a Golem, it was about to attack Stephan with some fire-breath attack, but Fire Horn pushed him out of the way, the flames began to engulf him.
"No. Fire!" Missy shouted, running towards the fire.

"No, Belle, no. Leave that man alone, look at his skin. It's falling off." Hearth was talking in his sleep. He was dreaming of the day he lost his daughter. "No, no, NOOOOOOO!!" Hearth sat straight up. His hat was off and so was his vest. His hooves hurt and his body ached. He looked around the cave to get his bearings.

Grand sat quietly next to hearth. " don't move too much. The faster we can get your hooves healed the better. You can't walk on them all burned like that" she said, pressing the herbs gently on his hooves. "It's good to see you again. I'm glad you found your way back" she said, not asking about his previous statements

Hearth was a bit surprised to see that he'd ended up here, but some part of him expected it. The clock was ticking, ticking for somepony else to go. His mind reeled back to what she'd said. "That a challenge?" He said placing his hooves on the ground and pushing up. "Oh Luna that hurts!" He said quickly. "Hehe, You win." Hearth needed sleep, but he was afraid, afraid to dream.

Zeta followed closly behind her, seeing the thing and almost freaking out when Fire Horn had stepped in. "OH CELESTIA- What the fuck is that thing!?"

In that moment he ran back, rummaging through her saddlebag and reloaded his revolver, pulling it out and running back up to it. He took a good aim at it and shot, leaving a large hole where it had hit the lava but it was instantly covered up and looked pretty much unphased.

Grunting could be heard where it was still attacking Fire Horn, suddenly, Fire emerged slowly pushing back the Golem's fire with his magic, eyes glowing a piercing red.
"I've got this one." Fire Horn said, he pushed the golem ibto the roof of the cave breaking it into small pieces. "That's what ye call gettin' 'er done."
"Thank Celestia you're alright, i thought it had killed you too." Missy hugged Fire Horn tightly.

"well I guess that means we don't need water to kill it" steel said "and can't say I'm surprised firehorn since your magic is centered around fire" steel added as he landed he walked over to the crises body of the golem and started picking up pieces of it" his body is made of obsidein it makes great black daggers with a nice shine" steel Sao with a smile" and with this much I can make at least 13 so I could sell at least 11" steel said

"Don't be too excited yet..." Ink Drop said with a tone slightly off and a bit doubtful, "You said that this is one of 'their kinds'..." He accentuated the two words of 'their' and 'kinds', "Kinds... as in plural, this is only the pawn, and I'm guessing there are more lurking around"

"Best to keep moving, Fire Horn." He turned to Fire Horn who was standing besides the scattered remains of the golem, "we can't risk it."

 

Ink Drop was taking one step with his front hoof but then he was stopped by the cold feeling in his hoof. It turned out that he stepped on a puddle of mud, "Oh this is good." he said whispering to himself as he looked at his mud covered hoof, "anypony got any linen, cloth or sheet or a blanket?" he yelled out to the group, "we'll be needing this to protect our skins, cover everything; the whole body, top to bottom with linen and smear up some mud."

"Ink, what in Equestria are you talking about? I know that mares like to put mud on their faces, but why would we need to put mud all over ourselves? Doesn't that seem kinds silly to you?" Fire Horn asked.

"Yeah,i know i said that you looked like you were afraid to get your hooves dirty, but now it seems like you go out of your way to get them dirty." Missy said.
