Missy sat up straight and watched Grand as she did her work, it was fascinating, in such a small amount of time, she became the group's healer.
"Grand, i wanted to ask how you were feeling, since you've probably had to perform some kind of healing on all of us at some point when we go off looking for trouble." Missy said.

"We'll I'm glad I've caught into this medicine nonsense quite quickly" she said, using minimal water. They were running very low. "You don't suppose there's a hidden spring or anything like that around here do you? We are quite low in water, and food for that matter" she said a little concerned

"No, and unless we resort to eating each other, that's not going to change, we have no source of food or water and according to the map, we have to go through a desert, blaring sunshine and everything." Missy said. "What i really want... is to just go home. But we've got a job to do, with or without water."

"That's pretty much gonna suck then." Zeta replied, leaving a little laugh right after. But knowing they were low on food and hunger was serious, and he may have to leave his armor behind for how hot it can be out in the desert sun.

And reminding about food, he decided to walk up to Grand to ask. "Um, Grand... When you have the time, can I talk with you?"

"it would help if we moved through the desert at night although like Missy said with is heading to the desert there will be almost no food and water" steel said as he sat down opposite grand and Missy so he wouldn't get in the way while grand worked

Stephan looked in his knapsack. He looked in it and saw about 5 large bags of trail mix. He then sighed. This was the only food he had. But, if the group were to stay alive, he'd have to give some of it up. "Hope you guys like nuts and dried fruit. 'Cuz I got 5 giant bags full of it." He dumped out knapsack and poured out his bags of trail mix.

"What? We're just supposed to eat it out of your bag like some farm animal, i've never been a big fan of nuts and i dislike dried anything, but if it keeps me alive, i'm all for it." Missy said, but remembering one small fact. "Wait, this is all dry stuff, but we have no drinkable water."

"Missy, you don't eat it out of the bag. You stick your hoof in there, pick some of it up, and eat it like candy." Stephan said. "Besides, I carry this stuff with me on all of my adventures. It's handy in case if I need a snack break." He smiled. "Anyways, this is all I have. Take it or leave it."

"Stephan! I can't hoof this stuff, i'm not Supermare." Missy said. "The blatant lack of water will not go well together with this stuff, i think you should get the mud, then seperate the dirt from the water and purify it. Granted, it won't be much but it might be enough for us to survive."

Grand nodded "of course Zeta, what is it?" She said, cautiously getting up from next to hearth, keeping her eyes on him as she walked with zeta. Once they were a bit further she smiled. "So what is it you wanted to talk about? It's nothing serious is it?" She said, flicking some mud off her hoof

Hearth sat on the cave floor. He'd never had a fever, only haunted by his past. He didn't want to slow the group down, and was even a little bit shocked to hear that he'd confessed love to Grand. He was going to clear things up... eventually, but it appeared that she had other matters to attend to. Then he'd realized a long forgotten fact, he was a unicorn of the Royal Guard. He pointed his horn at his hooves. It sparked and glowed to his hooves, healing them substantially, but not completely. He chewed some poppy seeds. 'I should be able to walk now.' he thought and stood up. He put on his vest and hat, and said "Ah'm as ready t' go as anypony else."

"This food will not be enough, and Stephan, you're predicating our entire journey on there being water somewhere in the desert, oh yes there probably will be, but this desert is 123 miles of sand, and in that time, any one of us could die from dehydration under the scorching hot sun, would you really gamble with our lives like that?"

"I'm willing to if we have a couple of canteens of water. That, of which I have." Stephan pulled out two gallon sized canteens full of water. "I'd been saving this stuff in case we'd ever need it. We should be wise with it though. With out giant group, we might just blow right through it."

"Well, ah like the idea of moving at night. And as much as ah hate to break it t' ya'll, we're probably gonna have to sleep in dug out caves in the sand, because there'll be some moisture trapped down there to keep us cooler." Hearth says thinking. His thoughts were of the cacti that may or may not be out there, but decided to wait until whether or not they saw any.

"Well, it is a little, but.." Zeta paused for just a bit, making sure nopony could really hear them unless they had some form of super hearing. Once all was clear, he turned back to her. "Um.. I haven't had any chance to say yet, but back at the winter cave.. I wanted to thank you for helping me out from, my memories. It was haunting me for a while, and I had held it in for so long that I couldn't take it anymore. I almost wanted to kill myself then and there but because of you, you kept me going again. I know i'm more of an inconvenience when things like that happen at the most random of times, but still..

Again he paused, sitting there looking at the molten ground but managed to pull a little smile and looked back toward Grand. "You know, i'd think you would make a wonderful mother from the things that have happened so far."

Hearth noticed how much conversation was going on. This wasn't for him, there was a reason he lived far from everything. He snuck away to somewhere secluded in the cave. He decided that he needed to get stronger. Hearthsong found a pair of rocks near each other. He took off his hat and placed it nearby on the ground. He grabbed the rocks on the wall and began to pull himself up and down, counting each and every rep, thinking things to get his adrenaline pumping. 'You've got to be stronger, now more than ever. It's your fault that you've lost people before, it's not going to be your fault this time.'

Zeta didn't want to really get close to a like-like relation with Grand, since he figured that her and Stephan still liked eachother from before but they haven't really made it noticible. Maybe something happened within the 8 years they were gone, but who knows.

"Thinking about it, a mother is a great healer, and you're one to be known so far to make sure everyone is doing well. I think that would be a good talent you haven't discovered before, wouldn't you say?"

"We need to figure out how we're going to divide up the supplies, first and foremost, the injured get water first, such as Hearth and Zeta, we need to equally ration food and water so that one's effect doesn't outbalance the other." Missy said. "I'd agree, we leave at sundown." Missy sat back down, and fell asleep.
