"Alright, that sounds awesome, you're awesome." Starburst said. "It's no wonder my dad is friends with you."

Starburst levitated the pieces of cloth.
"Here's a cool trick i can do." Starburst's horn glowed quite a bit, he put up a small forcefield around himself. "Cool, huh?"

"We've been together since about a month after the outbreak, we all just kind of came together i guess." Fire Horn explained. "Over time, we just, became friends."

Grand smiled at the compliment but quickly lost it at the flawless forcefield the colt had made. she laughed politely. "oh how darling! A perfect forcefield. How adorable" she said, poking it. unbreakable, she could tell just be touching it. "so your mother is an alicorn as well correct? what did she do, before all of this?"

"Oh, she worked in the Golden Oaks Library in Ponyville, she was the student of a nice pony, i liked her." Starburst responded. "And, yes, she is where i got my magical talent from. My father can only levitate things, though, my mummy could do so many things, she was amazing, she could learn a spell almost instantly once she put her mind to it."

"Friends, huh. That's good. You don't really except to see friendship at the end of the world." Carrick replied as he took out his note pad and ripped up two piece of paper. Placing them on top of the canteen. Carrick takes a empty container and pours water into it. He pours it into the canteen. Probably the best filter for the moment. He fills the canteen to the brim and puts the top on. Taking another empty container from the river and takes the papers he made and puts it on the top of it. "This should be about a few gallons. Should be enough to hold us off for two days." Carrick said as he finish pouring the dirty water.

Ghost awoke feeling thirsty. He remembered seeing cider in the house when he walked in. "I'm sure nothing will happen if I leave my post for a couple minutes." Ghost flips his way down into the house and poured himself a glass of cider. As he walked, he saw Grand and Starburst. "Hey, guys. What's up?" Ghost said, with a glass of cider in his hoof.

"the golden oaks library huh? I remember going there and having the librarian read us stories when i was a filly, probably younger than you!" she said, reminiscing. "Oh, hello Stephan! Starburst and I are just getting to know eachother a little better. I see great potential in him as a circus pony!" she said, winking at Starburst. "anything going on out there?" she asked, making sure everything was still safe

Ghost smiled at Sunburst and Grand. "You'll have to show me some of what you can do sometime, kid. Sometime when I'm not on duty." He rubbed Starburst's head and turned to Grand. "Nothing yet. A few trotters here and there, but nothing I can't handle. I'm just up there taking a load off and basking in the sun. Celestia knows I need it."

Starburst smiled and turned around to face Stephan.

"Hi, whatcha got there?" Starburst asks, as if from nowhere, Starbursts horn lights up and a large bolt of magic is shot out of it, knocking Starburst back into a wall, the bolt making a hole in the roof.

 

(It didn't make tremendous amounts of noise, don't worry.)

The brief lightning made Carrick turn around. He turns to see a bolt coming through a bit away. "Guess that's our cue to head back. I feel that something is ahoof." Carrick told the container and carries it on his right shoulder. "Let's go." Carrick said, trotting back into the alleyway.

Grand ducked, and quickly ran over to Starburst. "My goodness are you alright?" she asked, checking his head for bruises or bumps. "do these little magic...bursts happen often?" she asked, looking up at the hole in the roof. That would have to be patched up. "it doesnt seem you have any major injuries, just a few scratches, thank Celestia."

Ghost was shocked. How could a little unicorn of his age put that much power into a. shot. This kid was strong. He could tell. Regardless, he helped Starburst up. "Are you okay, Starburst? What you just did was pretty powerful. Are you hurt in any sort of form?"

Fire Horn galloped back to the house, hoping nothing bad had happened.

"They happen quite a lot, i try to keep them under control, that's the reason we all got seperated, because my magical potential is more than i can handle at my age." Starburst said. "No, i'm not hurt, not that much anyway."

Carrick galloped his way towards the house again. Seeing the hole in the roof. Got to patch that up. Carrick thought, not really noticing that Ghost isn't on guard duty. Carrick ran towards the door to see all three ponies. Nothing too serious here. Just a hole in the roof. Carrick gave a sigh, dropping the container of dirty water on the ground. "False alarm?"

Fire Horn trotted past Carrick to see that something had happened, just nothing major.

"Another outburst?" Fire Horn asked. Starburst nodded. "Are you hurt?" Starburst shook his head.

"Not too much, though, i try to keep my magic under control. I'm sorry about the roof." Starburst said.

"It doesn't matter, it can be fixed." Fire Horn replied.

"Yeah. False alarm. I just came in here to catch up with Grand and Starburst and get a glass of cider. But I guess the little guy had an outburst. At least it didn't attract trotters."

 

Fire Horn trotted past Carrick to see that something had happened, just nothing major.

"Another outburst?" Fire Horn asked. Starburst nodded. "Are you hurt?" Starburst shook his head.

"Not too much, though, i try to keep my magic under control. I'm sorry about the roof." Starburst said.

"It doesn't matter, it can be fixed." Fire Horn replied.

"I guess I'll get back to my post." Ghost drank his cider and flipped back up to the roof through the hole.

"Well, I guess I better get the purification started. I'll probably need some unicorn to help spark something in a bit. Whoever is willing, I'll be down in the kitchen." Carrick takes his container and trots off down to the kitchen. As he continues to move towards the stove, he check the cabinets for some type of pot. A metal pot...good, this shouldn't make it as hard. Carrick puts the pot on the stove as he pours the water into pot. Better check on the value before I decide on turning this stove on.

"Yeah, i'll be there in a minute. Just try to keep it under control, we don't need to attract any attention to ourselves." Fire Horn smiled, got up and walked down to the kitchen.

 

"It's only when i use complicated spells that i overload and this happens." Starburst explained to Grand. "I just don't know what went wrong."

Alright, value is clean. Four pots on the stove. Empty both containers. All I need is to get my unicorn and we can finally get some water. Carrick thought to himself see the amount of dirty water surrounding them. Carrick's mind went with the problem with Ghost. He isn't a bad pony at all...at least he doesn't seem to be, but this curse has become a problem to this group they're in. I wonder if they consider....

 

Carrick shook his head, That sounds like last resort to me. Carrick tapped the stove, shaking the idea out of his head.

Grand thought a little. "well, perhaps we keep the forcefields for emergencies only. They seem a litle too advanced for such a little pony to keep control of" she said, thinking that was what caused the loss of control. (im gonna hit the hay guys, and for the next two days i wont be able to post as much, so just a heads up.)

As Ghost was sitting on the roof, he took out his journal and began writing in today's entry.

"Entry July 30th, 2013

We arrived in Trottingham today to find the missing families of Fire Horn and Grand Finale. We located Fire Horn's son, Starburst , in the city.On top of that, I found my older brother, Christopher, who's just as alive and well as I remembered. We also came across a detective named Carrick, an Earth Pony like me. But we failed to locate Grand's sister and Fire's fiance. They must be in another city in Equestria. The only other logical place they'd be in is Canterlot. We didn't go there though. Earlier in the day. I took hold of Zycrin's old sword. He must have put a curse on it while he was alive. The sword took me into a black void with a voice that constantly repeated 'three days' to me. Once I regained myself, Me, Grand, Carrick, Fire, and Starburst traveled back to where we started; Manhattan. I thought that if I were to go into Zycrin's old hideout, I'd be able to find a solution to undoing the curse on the sword. I managed to find the cure in the form of a spell. Unfortunately, since I'm not a unicorn, I cannot pull the spell off. Grand or Fire will have to do it. They're my only chance from not falling into the sword's control forever. However, after what it did to me today, I feel as if time is running out.

((You have no idea how much I just had to read to get up to speed)).

 

Alesiar had been following the group ever since they landed in manehatten. She had followed them back to the fillies house, but it was still light outside, so she could not get to the building. So she sat in a tall building on the other side of the street, and waited for the ever closing darkness. It should not be long before the sun goes down now.

Ghost was laying and lounging on the roof as the sun set on the horizon. His guard duty was almost concluded. As the looked, he noticed a strange figure in the distance. It didn't look like any ordinary pony. It had to be a trotter. A big trotter at that. Without hesitation, Ghost jumped back through the hole in the rood and into the house. "Guys, step outside. You gotta see this."

(You don't have to start yet. I was just setting myself up)

Grand awoke, looking outside at a mysterious figure. "If it was a trotter it would be shambling over here. Perhaps it's a bandit?" She said, looking at ghost. Either way, she figured it was her watch "I'll take over for awhile now Stephan, you can rest" she said before climbing up to the roof

Ghost got a glass of cider and went into his room. He couldn't help but look outside of the window at the large figure. What was that? It couldn't have been any ordinary enemy. Too big to be any old trotter. Perhaps it was something even stronger. Stronger than a whole pack of trotters. Ghost continued to stare, as he slowly drank his cider.

There we go. As Carrick pours the last drops of purified water into his canteen. He takes a heavy sigh, knowing full well that they'll be good for time being. Carrick places the canteen into his coat and grabs the container as well. As he heard signs of commotions upstairs.

 

Taking himself upstairs, He puts the container down and grabs the open roof. Seeing the figure that was bigger than any other trotter he has seen. Interesting. Probably trouble. Carrick gets back down and walks into Ghost's room. "Ghost, how ya feeling?" Carrick wanted to talk plans...
