"Order whatever you like: anything at all." Bubble said in her best attempt at a kindly voice: once again managing only a slightly less cheerful half-success.

 

'Voices are hard...' she thought as she wondered if Lightning was right: what if Pondah was allergic to food? That would be a disaster!

Pondah scanned the room for a hint on what was available. With no menus on the table, the only clue as to what was available was a lone chalkboard.

 

'All these fancy things I've never seen before...'  Pondah thought. 

 

​Without knowing, he began to think aloud. 'What to pick? I want something nice but cheap. I'm not paying so I should get the cheapest thing which is... lettuce sandwich. Looks like I've picked.'

 

​Happy with his choice, Pondah announced what he was having. "I'll have a lettuce sandwich, if I may."

"A sandwich isn't a very good trade for a birthday present..." Bubble giggled. "... But if that's what you want, we can get desert after!"

 

She looked around shadily for a second before leaning across the table and whispering conspiringly:

"You're supposed to think in your head, everypony else can hear it otherwise!"

"That sounds like a great choice! Well, I mean, if you love lettuce, cause that's all there IS to it besides the bread...so anyways, Bubble, what are you getting? I might get a hay sandwich, just with extra dandelions though...I dunno, I haven't exactly decided yet." I sighed, looking down.

Pondah turned to face Lightning. "I like all foods." ​Pondah told him. "If I didn't, I'd be dead. I have to like lettuce and bread because that might be all that's available for a day."

Pondah giggled as Bubble whispered into his ear. He returned a whisper back to Bubble. "I'm not aware of when I'm thinking allowed. I find it easier to think and decide when I talk to myself."

"Heh, my sister does that. She says things that she doesn't mean to though so I have to remind her." Said a mirthful Bubble as she turned to answer Lightning.

 

@@Spiritual Nightmare,

 

"I'm going to have... Uhm... Daffodils! On a sandwich, since that's what you two are having!"

 

She beamed: this wasn't going so badly: Pondah looked a little tired... or maybe it was a headache. Otherwise though, everything seemed okay!

"What do we do now?" Pondah asked. "Do we wait or go and tell somepony what we want? What if they don't accept our request? Do we pick again or leave?"

 

Pondah's mind was full of questions about what would happen. He'd only been in a resteraunt once before and that one time was a disaster. He was refused his order based on the grounds of 'not looking good enough'. I hardly helped Pondah that he'd gone into a fairly fancy resteraunt looking like a complete train-wreck.

"Watch!" She answered before waving down one of the waiters.

 

"We want, two lettuce and one daffodil sandwich please!" She cheerfully informed the waiter, who seemed only a little taken aback at being given the order before asking for it.

 

"Now we just wait, sandwiches shouldn't take long!" Bubble chirped as he strode away, scribbling the Oder down as he went. She was aware but ignoring the fact that two of the three of them were sitting with rather damp, matted manes looking slightly out of place.

 

She looked around happily, checking if she knew anypony else there: she didn't. It didn't matter: she had her friends now!

'So you just say what you want and they do it... I guess I now know for next time.'

 

With a few minutes to kill whilst waiting for a sandwich, Pondah did what he always did when he was bored and had nothing else to do, continued his mental TV show, 'Ultimate Super Mega Battlefest'. He stared into space and let his imagination play out...

 

'Last time on Ultimate Super Mega Battle Fest, Poundah was on the verge of defeat at the hands of Bubble Blast, but he had one more trick up his sleeve...

 

Give it up, Poundah, you can't win! The Pudding Empire will rule all of Battland!

Not if I can help it! This battle has lasted almost two hours! I can whip out my most powerful spells!

Hahaha! Nothing can get past my Eclair Brigade! You'd need some sort of Ultimat Super Mega digging machine!

I guess it's my lucky day. With all I have left, I call upon the Autochthon Wurm!

*Wurm roar!*

Wurm! Tunnel under and destroy our foe!

*Dig dig dig… Chomp!*

Woah! I said destroy! Not eat! Stop it!

*Omnom! Gulp.*

Why won't you listen! You are under my control!

*Roars at Poundah*

No! Stop it!

 

With Bubble Blast and the Eclair Brigade defeated, Poundah was one step towards beating the Pudding Empire and saving Battland but when his own creature turns on him, he can't rest. Join the story next time on Ultimate Super Mega Battlefest!

The smell of warm bread invading Pondah's nostrils was enough to break him from his daydream and bring him back to the real world.

 

You have no idea how fun this was to type!

I had dozed off for a bit, and, hearing the TV, woke up with a shock. "H-Huh? Oh..." I wiped a bit of drool off of my face, blushing in the process. "So, what are we having? Oh, right...daffodil sandwiches....with extra hay, mommy..." I slowly drifted off to sleep again, dreaming of us eating hay sandwiches with extra daffodils...

"Helooo? Equestria to Pondah?" Bubble quietly called out jokingly as her friend zoned back in to the smell of the sandwiches being brought out. "Food's here!"

"You too Lightning!" She prodded each of them with a hoof, wondering what had happened and why she was seemingly the only one at full mental capacity all of a sudden.

 

She thanked the waiter and passed the payment to him as the plates were placed in front of them.

Sunny was about to offer to pay for herself when Candy dragged her out of the cafe. She kept up the walking speed until Candy stopped, looked around, and started prancing around. Her prancing was so adorably dorky Sunny couldn't help but giggle. She smiled when the mare announced that it was the happiest moment of her life. 

"Not just your life," she replied, and let Candy lean on her. 

"Was it? Well, it couldn't possibly have been cuter than your bedhead." she replied, returning the grin.

Candy raised an eyebrow, though she was still smiling. "I'm still wearing my 'bedhead,' " she chuckled, "It doesn't change much during the night." She rolled her eyes at her own mane "Sometimes I wish it did-" She was cut short by her noticing of a park down the street.

 

"A walk in the park, Sunshine?"

"Lucky you," Sunny said. "Even if i'm stone-still, my mane always ends up messy in the morning. it gets annoying."

Sunny looked at the park nearby. It looked perfect.

"I'd love a walk in the park," she replied, turning to Candy and smiling.

"I'd love a walk in the park," she replied, turning to Candy and smiling.

 

 

Candy beamed, it would feel nice to get away from the city for a bit. The two mares walked into the park, and started walking down the paths. It seemed endless, sometimes, this little bit of nature in the middle of a city. Candy realized her lean against Sunny had persisted throughout the entire time, and that the two were surprisingly silent during the walk. She stopped leaning, realizing Sunny might be getting tired of it. "Why are we so quiet out here?" she grinned, "I mean, it's the perfect place for us to talk about...anything." Her grin turned into a sly one, "Or do anything." Candy blushed, then realizing how suggestive that was, and panicked. "I- I mean uh, uh- Kissing! Kissing! That's it!" She stood up an extra few inches, and then tripped a little, and caught herself. She had a defensive smile on.

As she knocked me on the head, waking me up, I was just about to eat a sandwich in my dream. "Bubble, you ruined my dream..." I whined, sighing. "Anyways, is the food her-" I saw the sandwich, making me drool. I picked it up with my hooves and, not letting anything stop me, ate the sandwich quite quickly, barely taking 2 minutes or so. "Gah, that was the best." I mumbled, sighing with relief.

Rut-Light was near panic as he desperately searched for the last piece missing on the E.R.W 0-4-0 locomotive, "UGH!  Where's the lever?"  The lever in question was used to open the small twin steel doors giving access to the engines firebox where the coal was shoveled; and that inherently causes the boiler to bubble causing the pistons to turn the wheels and make steam.  Finally he found it after about 12 minutes of searching, he picked it up and sort it in the pile of all the missing parts.  "Well...time to remake a legend."  He said as he set to work.

Pondah flinched as he was prodded by Bubble's hoof. He reached out to pick up his sandwich and took a big sniff. The smell of the bread caused Pondah's mouth to water. Pondah began to eat the sandwich, starting quickly but taking longer as he reached the end. As the last bite of sandwich started the trip to Pondah's stomach, he was completely full.

 

"I'm going to have to skip dessert. I can't eat another bite." ​Pondah groaned.

"How was that?" The mare asked happily, the plate in front of her containing nothing but crumbs and a stray daffodil. "I mean, a sandwich isn't exactly a three course meal but..."

 

She shrugged.

"That good?" She said, rounding on Lightning who had finished well before either of them.

"Then you're okay with us going to Canterlot with three hundreds of Griffon mercenaries to try and usurp the throne?" Starshine blankly muttered out. After a couple seconds of silence he laughed heartily. "Just kidding! Eh, I don't need your money, I'm more than capable to feed myself. If you want to help others, better focus the bits on those who can't and won't work at all," he snickered.

 

Starshine pawed the floor a few times, eyes wandering around. It seemed that Richard had nothing interesting in his schedule. He personally would love to go and jump around the town looking for abandoned 'artifacts', but he rather doubt Richard would like doing that. "Hey, how about we go to some place that can repair your turntable? Somepony made it in the past, somepony somewhere in Equestria should know how to fix that thing up."

"Well, on the brightside, I'm not even full, but this guy is." I giggled, nudging Pondah's shoulder. "I could go for three to four more meals! Depends on their size...well, actually, I'd eat whatever is passed my way, honestly..." I sighed, scooting my plate around around on the table. "I dunno..."

"What don't you know?" She asked Lightning, curious as to his random mood swings. One moment he was full if energy, the next he was looking away and talking into his mane.

 

"You don't know if you want desert? You don't know if you could really eat anything you were given?"

I blushed as I nodded. "Well...maybe I get a stomach ache, then I would regret eating all of that food...maybe I'd be fine, but then I'd enjoy it too much and become a bit too gluttonous... I dunno, it's a bit complicated. Also, sorry for my mood swings. It's been happening ever since I arrived in Baltimare..." I mumbled into my mane, sighing.

Pondah groaned before answering Bubble. "That was... filling." ​ he told her. "It's a good enough replacement for a birthday present." ​He twitched slightly as Lightning nudged him.

 

"Well, what happens now?"  Pondah asked. "I've done one thing and I'm already owing someone money. Is having fun really this expensive? I could never afford to do this."
