Bass smiled as the pony obeyed his order, and just responded with a "Cider please. I need to relax for this gig. Lot's of ponies gonna be here tonight."

 

"At least he's good at acting, heh. That's certainly helpful."

 

He then turned, and sent the other technician off with some requests, and began to fiddle with his mixing board - the one he just recently purchased. Upon noticing what disks were still in the player, he chuckled and sifted through his bag to find the proper ones for his set.

 

"Right away sir!" Kaz responded and galloped off to the bar. "I need a cider and could you make it quick please." Kaz shouted at the Barmare, "This is going to kill me, trying to hide this secret." Kaz thought to himself sadly. "One day, Kaz. One day people will accept us."

Bass turned to face the new technician. She seemed eager to help, so he answered with his DJ grin on, "Right to the back of the stage over there should be fine. You new here? I don't recall you being on my crew before?" The DJ queried.

 

 

"Thanks, I'll do that right away! I'm new around here. I was just looking for some experience and I heard you guys needed some technicians. I love working around here, its a great atmosphere, I'd love to join your crew properly."

 

PurpleBit looked at Bass for 2 more seconds after she finished talking. His mane was beautifully done, it looked as if he didn't care but there was an obvious amount of work put into it when you looked closely.

 

She quickly hurried off to avoid the situation getting awkward.

Starshine pouted. Why was the pegasus so adamant on not fixing his turntable? 2 years was hardly a long time for electronics. Somepony must've brought it to him, unless the turntable was some kind of a super ancient artifact, it was still possible to have it fixed. He rolled his eyes.

 

"How can you be so sure that nopony would be able to fix your turntable?" inquired Starshine. "Just let me take a look at the thing. Pretty sure there must be some kind of branding in there somewhere. I have nothing else to do."

Kaz noticed the lavender coloured mare gawking at Bass. "That is my boyfriend, touch him and you'll enter a whole new realm of pain." Kaz angrily muttered to himself. "WHERE IS THAT CIDER, CELESTIA DAMN IT?!" He screamed at the surprised looking Barmare. He snatched it off of her as she passed it to him and threw the bits all over the floor behind the bar and didn't even turn around.

 

Kaz galloped to at full speed and said, "Here's your cider, anything else you need darl... I mean sir?" Kaz went luminous red and then remembered to ask Bass, "Who was she by the way? I don't mean to sound like the crazy, controlling type but she was so making googley eyes at you, dude!"

Bass looked at the pony cheerfully, "Well, if you're insterested, I'm sure we can find a permanent spot for you, just talk to me after the gig, and we'll see how everything goes." He then watched as the pony hurried off to fulfill his request.

"Just be careful, Bass. You know you're mine, right?" Kaz whispered with a smile. "I know you'll get lots of people clamouring after you but you have to be good!" He touched the tip of Bass' snout lightly with his hoof. "Is there anything else you need me to do at all?" Kaz asked inquisitively.

"I know!" Bass exclaimed, somehow at a whisper. "I wasn't even looking!" He added, with his grin slightly faded. Then, after the pony tapped his nose, he sipped the cider and answered with a sly smile, "I've always wanted dancers." He paused before continuing, "But I don't have any mares for that." He added with a wink and a laugh, to show that he was teasing. "In actuality, no, I'm about ready to go... what time is it?" the DJ queried.

"I know!" Bass exclaimed, somehow at a whisper. "I wasn't even looking!" He added, with his grin slightly faded. Then, after the pony tapped his nose, he sipped the cider and answered with a sly smile, "I've always wanted dancers." He paused before continuing, "But I don't have any mares for that." He added with a wink and a laugh, to show that he was teasing. "In actuality, no, I'm about ready to go... what time is it?" the DJ queried.

 

"I'll go get that purple mare back, give you something to stare at." Kaz said cheekily. "I'm kidding! I know you'll look, just don't bloody touch!" Kaz said, emphasising his Trottish accent on the word 'bloody.'

 

"I think it's about 4:45PM right now, I'm not sure. Remember though, the support act is on first so you're kind of on schedule." Kaz reminded the eager looking Bass.

Off by the back of the stage, PurpleBit was having a bit of difficulty stacking the amps on top of each other. She was sure it would look very good when it was finished, it was just that she was quite short compared to the other ponies. Perhaps she could ask for some help from someone.

 

She looked around and saw a white unicorn with very nice purple hair approaching her with a rather stern look on his face. She became concerned this was an angry staff member who was annoyed with the placement of the amps or the cabling.

And with this, Kaz raised his petite muzzle, turned sharply and cantered away leaving nothing but a trail of a pure shock in his path.

PurpleBit was quite shocked. She wasn't sure what just happened and why Kaz had approached her. She assumed that they were in a relationship from the harshness of his words and disregard for her.

 

He must have been watching me when I was talking to Bass. I didn't think that... oh. I better let him know that wasn't why I was looking at him. He was quite aggressive, even regarding the situation from his point of view.

 

PurpleBit felt quite down now. She finished stacking the amps and went round the back of the stage and lay down on the ground outside, feeling out of energy with her happy mood destroyed.

Sunny looked around as they walked. It was a beautiful park. She didn't mind the silence; it was peaceful, and she was just happy to be there with Candy.

They stopped and Candy asked why they were being quiet. Before Sunny could answer, she continued. 

"-talk about... anything."

"Su-"

"Or do anything," Candy's grin had turned sly and Sunny blushed at how suggestive her sentence was. Candy instantly blushed in return and tried to amend.

Sunny giggled a bit, though it was mostly nerves and a bit of trying to release the tension.. She was glad the mare hadn't actually meant that; while she really liked Candy and was so happy that they were now marefriends, she wasn't ready for anything like that.

"It's alright. How about we talk for a while?" she offered.

Even though the situation seemed to be relieved by Sunny, Candy still blushed and felt a bit awkward. "I hope I didn't just ruin this..." Yet still, she couldn't help but giggle for a moment at what she'd done.

 

"Well...I mean...what'd you have in mind, we could talk about you, or me...or us...?" She wanted so badly to facehoof at how unsure she was, "I mean...us as in what we are or will be." She smiled at the thought. She felt almost selfish asking about it though, but she couldn't get the thought- or the realization- of the two mares being together through her head yet.

She blushed a bit at this fact. it was true; she barely knew a thing about Candy, and as far as she knew, all Candy knew about her was that she was from Canterlot.

"I know what you meant," Sunny replied. "Maybe we can talk about ourselves. We haven't told each other much about ourselves yet."

 

 

It was some comfort to Candy that Sunny actually didn't mind talking about something. "Alright...I guess I could start." She sighed in a thoughtful way, "Hm..I dunno, I mean, I worked in a pub for a little while. I'm good at serving and mixing drinks...that's what my cutie mark is for. Hm...I guess you deserve to hear this, I've never told anypony else, really. Well, for awhile I didn't have to...but still..." She blushed, "My real name is Cotton Candy." She felt embarrassed, in a way. "Wow...I haven't said that to anyone in years." She sighed again, "I'm not the best at talking about myself," the mare laughed nervously, "Also, if you want to, you're the only one allowed to call me Cotton Candy." She winked, and kissed Sunny on the cheek. She was in slight disbelief of the fact she would let anypony call her that name again, but with Sunny, she felt completely safe. "So...a bit about you?"

Sunny smiled, glad that Candy had told her this, and was letting her call her by her real name.

"I think it fits you," she said.

"Hmm... about me... Well, I was born in Manechester, I've always liked to do different kinds of art. Apparently I had raw magical talent, so my parents signed me up for Canterlot Academy for Gifted Unicorns. I got in, and got to study with the Princess. Hmm... There's really not much to tell," she chuckled. "It was an honor to study under the Princess, as I said yesterday, but I'm not all that passionate about magic. I moved here too sell my art. i should show you a painting sometime."

"I'd love to see your art." Candy smiled. She had to admit to herself, she was never a pony who cared much about art in most cases, but if it meant something to Sunny, it would mean to Candy as well. "Not passionate about magic...me either, really. I just used it for mixing drinks, mainly." Candy sat down on the path, sort of tired, the day was growing older. "I've gotta admit, I've never been passionate about much in my life. I mean, my job...and my talent, those are okay and all...but..." Then it struck her, part of why she'd been so happy the past day- she found somepony who she actually cared about, for the first time in her life. "...I'm passionate about you."

Sunny beamed as Candy agreed to see her art and sat down beside her.. She listened happily as the mare continued to speak, but looked a bit downcast as Candy said she wasn't passionate about anything. She tilted her head, studying Candy's face.

She isn't passionate about anything? That's... kind of sad-

Candy interrupted her thoughts with a statement that made Sunny's cheeks go red. She couldn't help but give her a wide smile. she felt butterflies, tickling the insides of her stomach. She wasn't sure what to say, so she  just leaned forward and kissed Candy, just as she had in the cafe.

It was like every positive emotion Candy could feel erupted inside of her, and she shared them in that kiss. It felt like an eternity before the kiss, and the flood of emotions seemed to end. Their faces barely separated, Candy stared deeply into Sunny's eyes. The look on Candy's face would represent that of one that yearned for the love of the mare in front of her. In her craving stare, Candy smiled, and whispered to the other mare, "You are perfect. My Sunshine." Her smile held, and her feeling of pure infatuation grew in her mind and heart. She leaned in and kissed the other mare on the cheek, then laid down against her, and hugged her from the side, pulling Sunny to the ground with her. Nopony else was around, so the scene of two mares laying down hugging in the park didn't seem too strange. "It's moments like these that I want to last forever..." Candy gave an infatuated sigh.

Kaz was still frustrated with the purple ponies performance and needed something to take his mind off it. Kaz, snout still high in the air, wandered over to the bar and shouted, "Get me 4 bottles of cider, the stronger brew please." Luckily, it seemed that the Barmare couldn't quite see him properly in the sparsely lit club so the possibility of a tainted drink was out of the window.

 

Kaz slammed down the first bottle of Frosty Applejacks cider and felt an instant head rush. "Slow down, you can't upstage Bass tonight." he thought to himself.
