Lightning sighed as he saw Sunnydew leave. "I'll be right back." He told Candy, getting up and leaving outside. He looked around and saw three ponies talking by the benches. "Hey..." he mumbled, flying towards them. When he reached them, he gently floated down and asked "Whatcha doin'?"

"Yeah!" She beamed despite the fact that he was still staring intently at the ground."Whatcha looking at Ponder? I can't see anything."

She peered at the patch of ground that he seemed to be looking at. It was pretty dull, but it might be more interesting than some other pieces of ground she supposed.

((Ooc: @@Spiritual Nightmare You mean Bubble and Pondah? Of some other group near a bench? I missed the first page or so, so I'm not 100% where everyone is :P ))

The mare's constant happiness was began to have an effect. Pondah smirked at Bubble's comment. "I'm not really looking at anything. It's just what I do when I feel sad and embarrassed that I've inconvenienced with my talking."

OOC: I think Pondah and Bubble (Pondanbubble?) are the only ponies near a bench. The rest are in a café.)

Rut-Light had been wandering around Baltimare for half an hour just enjoying as much as he can on his day off from work, he didn't get them often so whenever he did he enjoyed it.  Rut-Light was a 48 year old stallion who has been working on the railway in Baltimare for close to 18 years at this point and he had no plan on retiring soon.  Baltimare has always been a busy city but Rut-Light had the luxury of being away from all the commotion on work days, well some of it anyway.

Oh sure. It's always good to have more people to talk to. I'm Pink Mist by the way. This your first time in Baltimare too?

Pink was always happy to make new friends, but right now she was hungry! Hmm nice place but they sure could do better on service. Oh well at least I have people to talk to.

Bass takes a look at the time, and remembers he has an appointment with a record producer in an hour, so he stands up, drops a bag of bits on the table without another word, and tries to walk out with out drawing any attention to himself. He normally wouldn't mind attention, but the realization of his appointment with such an important pony made him nervous, and he was visually not feeling well anymore.

She moved over, sort of uncomfortably to the other booth, and took the seat next to Pink Mist, facing the yellow mare.

"I'm Candy Spirits. And, no, I have lived here all of my life, just...on the other side of the city until about last week." She turned to the yellow mare, @, "What might your name be?"

"Incon-who?" Bubble said, flicking her ear again as it tended to do when she was confused - it ran in the family.

"Why are you feeling sad? Can I help?" She asked, still in the same permanently cheerful tone. "I'm good at cheering ponies up! Well... That's what some ponies tell me. Others just say mean things like that I'm annoying and stuff, but I don't care about that."

Pondah had to agree with these "some ponies". Bubble's constant cheer was starting to grate. "I'm sad because I felt like I've wasted your time. You asked a simple question. I had no answer. That time could've been spent finding that hotel but I wasted it with my ramblings." Pondah paused for a moment. "And, for the record, inconveniencing someone is to cause a trouble or difficulty. I caused difficulty by giving a useless answer."

"Oh..." Said the pink maned pony as she thought for a moment before realisation struck.

"Oh! Is this my fault? I'm so, so sorry! I didn't want to upset you or anything like that!"

Bubble was mortified at the thought that she might be the cause of the dejected look the colt seemed to have glued to his face.

"I just... I mean... you just seemed like someone nice to talk to, I didn't mean to inconvenience you!" She started to babble slightly as she took a step backwards. "I'll go now... Sorry again, please don't be sad!"

Bubble's apologies and constant try to please attitude finally got to Pondah. He stamped a hoof on the floor and raised his voice. "It's not your fault! I'm just annoyed that I've wasted your time. You asked a question and I wasn't able to help. I've wasted your time. I've taken nothing else bad from this so nothing has been your fault. Understand?" Pondah exhaled loudly and managed to drag his head up to face Bubble. In a slightly calmer voice, he told her, "It's my fault. Not yours."

Rut-Light was just about to turn a corner on the street when somepony in what looked to be a train engineers uniform came ran up to him with a worried look on his face.  When the pony stopped in front of him he was breathing quite heavily while trying to speak to him, "Train..yard...sabotage causing...derailment!"  Mr.Light was confused by this, 'When did the train-yard get sabotaged?' he thought and said, "Okay, I need you to calm down and tell me what happened."  The engineer took a few deep breaths and began to tell him what he needed to know; and what he heard didn't sit well with him.

Bass trotted back out from the producer's studio with an ecstatic expression on his face, a look of victory. He had just gotten signed to produce under a Hoofbeats Record label, and decided he may as well go celebrate before his next show the following night. He continues on down the street, humming a simple little melody that came to mind, while he thinks of a place to go celebrate. He then stops, and realizes that he doesn't know the city very well, being he just arrived last weekend, and wonders which way to head. "Oh dang, um, I'm on Mane Street, so I should head.... uhm.."

"Okay! Please stop shouting!" Panicked Bubble, wincing when he raised his voice. "I don't like it, I'm going now. I hope you manage to sort out whatever was making you sad before I got here."

She started to edge away faster before turning around and starting to trot quickly away - confrontation wasn't something she liked at all, in any form. That, and shouting. And at the rate this was going, she was going to see both of those things if she stayed there.

Just before leaving earshot she stopped.

"I didn't think you were wasting my time by the way." She added before fleeing down the street towards... whatever might be down the street.

Pondah's face went back to one of sadness. 'Well, I screwed that one up. What a strange mare. She acts like she's 7 years old.' Pondah began wondering down the street in the opposite direction to Bubble. Suddenly, a small glint caught his eye. A single bit was sticking from the ground.

'Jackpot.'

Pondah plucked it from the ground with his teeth and galloped towards the café. Now finally able to buy something, he made his way into the café and re-seated himself in his isolated seat.

Bass decided to head back toward the cafe, as that was the place he recognized most, but in the midst of his cheerful humming, and happy trot, he noticed a panicked looking pony running straight toward him, and jumped out of the way at the last second before they collided. A somewhat distatsteful "Whoa!" escaped him, and he stepped aside to adjust his messed up mane. "Hmph. Odd" He thinks to himself.

When Rut-Light and the engineer arrived on scene it was chaos; a train was on fire and leaking gas, the track had been blown apart, train cars were scattered and ponies were trapped in the passenger cars!  "So much for a day off..."  Fire crews have been in short supply lately so only a few were there at the moment trying to douse the fire. Rut-Light sprinted towards the burning locomotive, hopping to rescue the driver and passengers before disaster struck, he climbed onto one of the 5 passenger cars and began searching for a way to save the screaming ponies.  Then an idea struck him, the doors were weak and not very sturdy; he could detach them all and free the passengers...his time was limited so he had to move quickly.

@,

"Sorry! Are you okay! I didn't hit you did it?" Bubble almost shouted as she skidded to a halt.

She was about to approach the Unicorn (who wasn't hiding under a bench) when she recalled exactly what had just happened with Pondah and how much trouble she had caused: so instead she simply lingered just within earshot and waited for his reply, hoping that he wasn't going to start yelling as well.

Bass peered over at the worried looking pony, and instinctively remained calm- he was a rather laid back DJ pony, after all. "Ah nah dude, I'm fine, just messed up my mane a bit.. more than it already was... ahem, anyway. No, I'm fine. You, on the other hoof, look really worried, I'd normally have the perfect wubs for this, but my equipment is at the studio... Anyway, yeah, is somethin' wrong, dude?"

"Nope I'm fine. Just... shouting and benches and stuff. Down there. I'm not a fan." She said, somehow managing to make her voice come over as both meek and cheerful at the same time as she motioned down the street. "Oh! I'm lost too. A bit. That's not a problem though. It happens a lot. Sorry about your mane!"

"FIRED?! What do you mean fired?!" Kaz bellowed, almost in tears. The fear of losing his job had always been present in Kaz's mind but so far every fear had never come true. "Fine, I'll get my stuff and leave. I don't need this, I don't need any of you" and with this, Kaz stormed out of the offices with a cloud of bitterness surrounding him.

Kaz sprinted towards his home in tears knowing that the world around him that had seemed so safe was actually crumbling underneath his hooves.

Nothing to Rut-Light was more stressful and better at causing an adrenaline rush than having a train derail, catch fire, leak gasoline, have a destroyed track AND having to save passengers on 5 downed passenger cars; while having camera crews on the scene.  Who sabotaged the train-yard was still a mystery to him but they will eventually be caught and put on trial, with the fine being around 200 bits for sabotaging the railway...for the first time; the fine went all the way up to a jarring 1000 bits at which point you get jailed for life.  Rut-Light had broken all the doors and was evacuating passengers on the 4th car...when disaster struck.  BOOM!!  The locomotive had detonated; sending huge chunks of metal every which way along with fire and towering pillars of smoke, Rut-Light can now officially worry.

"Ah shit!  Come on! Lets go! Lets go!" He quickly helped the passengers out and hurriedly moved on to the next car...then the next, and the next until he finally arrived at the last one, the one closest to the train.  The car had been blown to smithereens by the explosion with pieces of the coach laying everywhere...he couldn't save them all.

After a moment of being seated, a waiter approached Pondah for an order. "Plain tap water for me." Pondah said as he presented the single, scavenged bit from earlier with a sense of pride. The waiter disappeared temporarily and returned with the drink, placing it on th table in front of Pondah.

'So, today's achievements. I've successfully convinced two mares that I'm a complete jerk. Smooth move Pondah.'

Pondah glugged back his drink in one and just sat, staring into space.

(OOC: Anyone up for a time with Pondah?)

Bass furrowed his brow. He hesitated before responding unsure of himself, "Oh, uhm alright. I guess."

He turned his attention away from the other pony, assuming the conversation would be over right there, and began to walk away slowly, back in the direction he'd been originally heading. "Well this has been odd," he thinks to himself as he goes.
