With his grin on, and a newly enthusiastic voice, he shouted back "I'm right here bro!" Bass picked up his pace a bit, and looked around as he moved, noticing that they were moving right toward what seemed like the center of the floor, though he couldn't be absolutely sure. "Hm.. What's Kaz planning?"

"What about that pink mare over there?" Kaz said nodding towards the bar where she was sat. "That dude looks like a total tool. Go and show him up. She might recognize you." Kaz said this with a smile on his face but there was something odd going through Kaz's mind right now.

"Uhm..." Bubble edged away uneasily from the extremely vocal pony, leaving her drink on the bar.

 

"Maybe your right." She mumbled to Pondah. "Uhm, he's very... excitable, isn't he?"

The irony of this comment was lost on her.

"What about that pink mare over there?" Kaz said nodding towards the bar where she was sat. "That dude looks like a total tool. Go and show him up. She might recognize you." Kaz said this with a smile on his face but there was something odd going through Kaz's mind right now.

"You know what, Kaz. I may just go introduce myself." Bass said with his big grin. By now, he almost completely tricked himself into acting like he's on stage, and he felt great. He finally turned toward her, and with out thinking anymore about it, walked over to her. He made sure he got her attention, and spoke up. "Hey there" is all he says, the grin still on his face. "I wonder if she'll recognize me." He thinks.

"Wait, did you just smile?" She beamed: that was better! She felt a little more as ease: all the misery made her uncomfortable. She beamed in response: she hadn't inconvenienced him too much after all!

"Oh, you left? Uhm, that's okay. Maybe you shouldn't drink so much: it makes you go all loud and stuff." She added to Richard as he returned to the bar.

Lightning looked around. Ponies EVERYWHERE were dancing. Pegasi were up at the ceiling, preforming some kind of dance that Lightning wasn't accustomed to. "Um..." he walked towards a small group. "Hello, um...excuse me?" He touched one of the pony's shoulders. "Excuse me, can you guide me around?"

Bubble stopped her rhythmic bouncing as the third pony approached: a little on edge. She was all for meeting new friends and huge crowds but everypony was trying to talk at once!

 

It took her a moment to realise who the stranger was.

 

"Oh! It's... You!" She squeaked, still maintaining her smile despite feeling just a little bit crowded. "Sorry I nearly knocked you down earlier."

Bass let out a little laugh. "It's alright." He then notices the other ponies next to her. "Oh shoot, did I interrupt something? I'm sorry if I did. I just wanted to come say hi, and that I couldn't help but notice how cute you were." Bass still maintained his grin, but he could tell that he was going to quickle lose his composure if he doesn't get a positive response.

"Thanks!" She said in a happy, if slightly shaken voice, still a little uneasy about the number of ponies around her but still stubbornly smiling despite the slowly rising desire to get away from where she was.

"Oh!" She exclaimed as the hoof touched her. Spinning around she noticed a Pegasus behind her, looking as nervous as she felt. She saw opportunity!

 

"Yes! Of course! I'm Bubble! I can show you around, lets go this way, excuse me." She babbled, half to Lightning, half to the rest of the group who had amassed. "See you later Ponder!" She made a point of saying to the pony she knew best as she pulled the Pegasus away from the group.

Well, now that the pony he had gone to meet had left without him even getting a chance to properly introduce himself, Bass's attitude deflated. "Well, I suppose you scared her off. Good goin' dude." He let out a very audible sigh, and realized he lost sight of Kaz. "Aw jeez. Now I'm alone again." He said to himself. He just stood there, by the bar, looking around the room, to see if he could spot his unicorn counterpart, and thought to himself. "Perhaps I should just leave. I wanted to talk to the DJ, but the show's not nearly over and I do not feeling like sticking around like this."

"So...where are we going?" Lightning asked, wondering if this was a dream. Bubble was the most fascinating, and he meant FASCINATING, pony he has ever met. Her pink and light gray mane was sparkling in the light of the club, her white/light gray body was dazzling. "U-Um, Bubble...I just want you to know...that you are the most beautiful pony I have ever seen."

"I have no idea!" She declared loudly before laughing a little to herself: the number of times she had heard her sister say that: she had never really understood why someone would do something without knowing anything about it.

 

"Oh, thank you!" She smiled briefly before the traces of a from formed.

 

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to lie! I don't know my way around here, I only got here today!" She burst out. "But there were so many of them all trying to talk to me at once and I didn't know what to do! And I didn't want to upset anypony or be rude and then you were there and..."

 

She paused for breath and shrugged.

 

"I just needed some space, I can't really show you anywhere... I can't even find the hotel in supposed to be staying at!"

Sometimes, I just wanna slow down a bit." He peered around, and saw that although his mood dropped, the club's did not, and ponies were still having a great time all around him. "Hmph."

Bass pondered the question a bit, and after a moment spoke back somehow. "I'm not gonna take away from your fun just cuz I'm not doin' too well, plus you still need to find your mare... don't you?" Bass asked, and managed to crack a smile, albeit an entirely fake smile. "This dude's been real friendly tonight. I haven't had a real good friend since I left Canterlot. Hmm.."

Sunny let Candy drag her to the dance floor and listened as she spoke in her ear. What the mare said made her blush in surprise, but it was a pleasant kind of surprise. She returned the smile and spoke.

"I'm not sure about that," she said. "But I can definitely try!"

She wanted to add that Candy was beautiful as well, but told herself it was too much.

"It..." He and Bubble had walked out of the club without realizing it! "Wo...um...my name is Lightning...Lightning Chaser to be exact... and the hotel is right next to the club!" He said, pointing to the hotel. He giggled and looked down at the ground. "So...um...what are you going to do now?" he asked, looking at Bubble again.

She shook her head instead of finishing her line of thinking: getting upset never helped anything.

 

"I dunno, I'm not really tired, just kind of needed to know where this was." She shrugged, stooping a little to try and stay in his field of view. "What's up Lightning? I've not inconvenienced you as well have I? I'm sorry!"

 

She really didn't know what was going on with the ponies of Baltimare, but wow that new word was coming in useful!

Pondah tried to stifle a yawn but couldn't, releasing a long moaning yawn into the club which, thankfully, was drowned out by the loud music. Picking up the bag of bits in his mouth, Pondah noticed something. 'Hmm... this doesn't feel like 500x1 bits. It feels lighter. Either our drunken friend can't count or something fishy is going on. I'll have to count and weigh the money to be sure. There must be a shop with a set of scales somewhere.'

 

Pondah tried to keep his cool as he left the club but it was to no avail. He left running towards a greengrocer's shop and pushed open the door.The owner raised an eye from his newspaper and prepared to make a sale. "Don't worry, I just need to borrow the scales. I'm not here to buy."

 

Pondah turned his gaze towards a set off hyper-accurate scales and walked towards them. He opened the coin bag and whilst counting, began working the maths and science in his head.

 

'The average bit is made of 100% gold, leading to a mass of around 0.7 grams. The metal used to make the fake must be only slightly lighter, else a difference would be notable in small amounts. Let's see... one bit... 0.6 grams! A fake! Now, if we take the weight of 500 real and 500 fakes, we get 350g and 300g. Each tenth of a gram away from 350g will show how many bits are fake. 498… 499… 500! All present, equalling a weight of 300g... every coin is fake!'

 

Pondah dashed out of the store and onto the streets. 'Seems our DJ friend has explaining to do.'

"I'd love to!" "It's fine, I've got no problem going." she said, still trying to hide whatever excitement she wanted to show so badly. She was getting quite over-excited. She had only just met this mare. "Don't push too hard. You'll never get a marefreind that way." At the moment, Candy was still fixed on how attractive she found the mare. She peeked at her flank, curious what her cutie mark might be. She didn't quite see anything, and was sort of disappointed. She quickly turned back to @, "Are you coming along, Pink?"

 

 

I'm just gonna finish up eating and walk around the city a little. I'll meet you guys at the club. Pink Mist felt so happy that she had finally made some friends she could hang out with during her stay. She decided to invest in some sightseeing time before heading to the club.

With that, the two mares danced their flanks off. Candy couldn't accept her dancing though, she looked like a huge dork trying to dance, but she was just having so much fun. She also very much admired Sunny's dancing, good or bad, Candy thought she looked good doing it.

 

By the time the two looked tired out, Candy's mind drifted for just a second. "Hey...where's Pink?" She called to Sunny over the music.

"NO, I am not him, I'm a DJ, but not him," Richard replied.

Kaz pleaded to the stallion, still mesmerized by the fact that he had become quite close to somepony he had idolized for what felt like eons. Kaz smiled back, completely bewitched, not even noticing that Bass' smile was false. "Let's get out of here." he said, in a last ditch attempt to steal the stallion into his own privacy.
