"I don't mind the dark that much." Blazing said. "Sometimes I actually like nighttime better than daytime." He added. He did like the night, but mostly because other ponies weren't usually out that late. This is going to be different... Being outside at night, alone with a mare... FOR CELESTIA'S SAKE QUIT THINKING LIKE THAT! He thought. These thoughts kept slipping into his mind, and he couldn't control them for some reason.

"Yeah, I've always prefered the night as well. I always like to just get lost in the stars, just to stare up at the beauty of Luna's night time. *sigh* Oh I'm sorry, I seemed to have gone on a little tangent there, I seem to do that sometimes." Continuing along they make it to the garden outside the hotel. "Oh wow! These are absolutly beautiful. Oh if only these grew in ponyville, that would be so incredible. It's kind of funny though, two new things are happening to me tonight. These incredible flowers," I lean over to one of the flowers and take a good sniff. "and it is also the first time I've ever been out with a stallion by myself."

"R-really?" Blazing asked. "Well, I guess now I can admit that this is my first time being out with a mare by myself." He said. He hadn't expected them to have that in common at all for whatever reason. Maybe we have a lot more in common than I thought... He thought.

"Like I said, I go out more at night, I don't interact with many ponies..." Blazing said. "The only ponies I ever talk to are ponies that stay out as late as me, and even then I barely talk to them." He explained. He was barely thinking of course, but he still thought it was a good idea to explain why he was like that at least.

Esme smiled. "Come one, then." She laughed just a bit and led him into the hotel, taking his hoof to do so. They arrived at their room, and Esme walked over to the only bed. "Are you sure you're fine sleeping on the couch like that? I mean, we could switch places if you want... I'd be fine with it. In fact, I want to sleep on the couch! You take the bed." She sat up and swung her legs over the short end of the bed, hopping to the floor. Trotting to the couch, the blue pegasus turned off the lights on her way. "G'night, Grin."

Dog Ears nodded and smiled slightly. He really didn't want Esme to take the couch, but she seemed set on it. He sat on his bed, but didn't sleep. It wasn't late enough for him. He usually stayed up late very night to take care of the animals in his house, so this was early to him. Laying back onto his bed, Dog Ears thinks about what went on that day.

Esme settled in to the couch. She didn't necessarily want it, but she felt bad about Dog Ears not getting a bed. The couch was small and she did tend to wiggle a lot in her sleep, but, well, who the hell cares if she wakes up on the floor? Certaintly not her. It happened all the time, anyway. Besides, as long as he was happy... "Hey, Grin?"

Dog Ears looked around before remembering that Grin was his name. "Oh heh... sorry I'm still not used to that... What did you want?" He looked up from the bed and over to the couch. It was small, and Esme looked cramped. "Esme I can take the couch. Really it's no big deal."

Esme shook her head vigorously. "No, no, Grin, I want the couch. Really. I like sleeping on couches. Anyway, are you tired? Because I'm not... Really... I thought I was, but I guess it was the sunset. Me and Eldrich usually talk when we're not tired... Ya wanna talk?"

((How come we always mention each other even though we both follow the topic? It seems kinda pointless, we both know who we're talking to. Oh well.))

"Well you're talking to me, and you seem to be doing just fine as far as I can tell. So what makes me different than everypony else? What is it that makes it so that you don't feel nervous talking to me?" Maybe it is just because of how I treat him... no that can;t be it. I wasn't exactly nice to him when we first meet.

"I don't know... I can't quite explain it, but you seem just nicer than most ponies I've met..." Blazing said. He wasn't sure if that was the exact reason, but it was part of it at least. There could've been another reason, but that was the only one he was able to think of. That's the reason... Right? He thought.

*Giggle* "Why thank you. That's very kind of you to say." With a slight blush Charcoal continues to look around the garden. He thinks I'm nice, that's very sweet of him. Oh come on Charcoal don't go blushing on me now. Wait, why am I blushing anyway, all he did was compliment me that's all... right? "So Blazing, how are you liking the garden?"

Oh right, we're still in the garden aren't we? I wasn't paying much attention... Blazing thought. "Well, I've liked it so far." He said, going with the simplest answer he could. He started blushing a bit, thinking about how he hadn't payed any attention to the garden, and how he had been paying more attention to Charcoal. Usually I pay attention to anything else besides whoever I'm talking to... What's happening to me? He wondered.

"Well that's good and you seemed to have calmed down a lot to." It seems that going out for a walk was the right thing to do, he seems to have calmed down a whole lot since we left. "Excuse me if I am getting a little personal but was it true when you said that you have no friends?"

"Yes..." Blazing said simply. "It seems like other ponies have trouble accepting a unicorn with a disability for whatever reason..." He explained. He didn't feel as bad when he talked about this anymore, although part of him still hated talking about it. "I have had one friend before... But that all fell apart the minute she heard that I couldn't use magic." He explained. The whole time he couldn't believe he was actually explaining all of this.

This is not helping me seem happier at all is it? He wondered. Unfortunately he couldn't think of anything that would make it better at that point, so he didn't say anything else.

Just some ideas..." He realized that he had asked about friends when he didn't even have many. Even after adopting the name that was supposed to hurt him, other ponies still ignored him or left him alone. Even some of the ponies that came to his clinic tended to avert direct eye contact.
