@@Durandal,

(O-Oh, thanks for reminding me/telling me this right now o-o)

"YAY! Now the only thing we need is a pony-killing manticore and we'll be alright!" I stated, going to the next pony...

@,

I walked to Bardic, tapping his shoulder. "Hey, Bardic! Wanna play Hide and Seek? Me, Serum and Drifty are playing, and we need more ponies!"

White noticed that Lightning was offering the others to play a little game, he was really bored and Bardic's song cheered him up a little bit.

"I would like to play, there's not much to do here so I think its a good idea" He said as he reached Lightning with a grin on his face

@,

I jumped backwards, laughing. "Okie dokie, do you love hide and seek cause I love hide and seek oh wait you should play hide and seek with us right?" I asked fastly, jumping up and down with excitement. "This is going to be awesome cause we're all going to play right I mean, come on, who could avoid a game like this?"

"Many thanks my friend." Bardic nodded as he finished his song. "Music is a passion of mine, I find it holds a magic unlike that which we see every day. I am pleased that you enjoy it."

@@Spiritual Nightmare,

"Perhaps another time, I would like to stay beside the fire tonight." He said. "Your nights are most cold."

@,

I frowned, settling down. "But..but why? I mean, most of us will be doing it, and besides, it's going to be fun! Wait...what do you mean by OUR nights? Don't you have the same nig-" Then it struck me. "Oh, I see! You're actually a human that came from the other side to journey and learn about Equestria in the shortest time you can so you can return home with your friends so they don't feel lonely! Right?"

@@Spiritual Nightmare,

Bardic didn't know what to say. He didn't know what a 'human' was, what 'the other side' was or what the pegasus was so confused about.

"I am from the deserts of Saddle Arabia: our nights are cold, but the sun heats up the earth during the day, which keeps us warm." He explained. "The days here are cold and do not warm the land so much. I am not accustomed to this."

@,

I smiled, bouncing up and down again. "Okie dokie, that makes MUCH more sense than what i was thinking! if you're wondering...never mind, you wouldn't understand what a human or the other side it. I had the pleasure of looking, but only for 5-10 hours before Princess Luna found me and brought me back. It's complicated."

Bardic smiled at the eccentric pony, looking around at his other companions, wondering what he might learn about them.

'Lightning doesn't seem to be hiding anything. Quite the opposite actually.' He thought. 'Driftwood... acts a lot like Redwave did when we last parted ways. The mare, Moonlight, seems distant despite how open she is.'

He turned his gaze. 'Jaegar seems very soft natured considering the weapons he had emblazoning his flank. Perhaps he simply understands that war is not something to be glorified.'

His eyes last fell on the second-newest addition to the group. 'Soothing Serum, did she say? Mayhap some kind of mixed bloodline like myself. I cannot place it, but she reminds me of something I have read...'

He tore his eyes away and shook his head: he had already decided to leave the matter to rest: there was no sense trying to figure out something like that with no reference material. He considered singing another song, but some of the others seemed to be ready to turn in for the night. Instead, he stretched out and started to write in his new field journal.

@,

"...so I remember this time when a human leaned in and kissed me. Blah, for some reason I had long hair and more nimble arms than the other human, who I think was a stallion. I might have been a mare, but this is humans we're talking about. So it's females and males...I think I was a female in that dimension. It rocked, cause all of the males watched me and complimented me. It also seemed that there were copies of everypony there, so...it's a bit weird, cause I thought I was actually talking to Rainbow Dash when really it was just her human version." I said to Bardic, giggling.

@@Spiritual Nightmare,

Driftwood noticed Lightning Chaser talking the ear off Bardic, who appear to be trying to write something.

"Lightning, I think I'm ready to... play." saying it made him realise how foolish the whole thing sounded, but better to keep a pony like Lightning occupied rather than risk the nerves of his new companions so early on their journey. He stood up "just, tell me what I'm doing and I'll play hide and seek."

@@TotalNeon,

I gasped, then remembered. "Oh hoh, silly Drifty. I love you!" I said, jumping up and hugging him. I backed up, giggling still. "Okie dokie, so there's two different ponies- hiders and a seeker. The hiders, well, obviously hide while the Seeker tries to find them. So...I guess Drifty is the firs- *GASP* I almost forgot! The seeker has to close his or her eyes and count to 20 seconds as I impale him with a knife the hiders hide!"

Jaeger shook his head laughing "Yeah after my little out burst, playing hide and seek in the middle of a dense dark forest is most likely the last thing I should be doing." he said. He would have loved to play since he had never really PLAYED before, but under these circumstances it probably isnt the safest idea.

I literally deflated, looking sad. "Oh. Okay. I'll just go to bed then." I mumbled, slowly walking to my tent. Why didn't anypony want to play Hide and Seek except for Drift and the other pony? It just didn't make any sense...I slowly got into my tent, closing the flap slowly behind me. I gently got into bed, tucking in my wings so they wouldn't hurts. I slowly sighed and, yawning, fell asleep...

@@Moonlight Fire,

"Is there a problem?" Bardic asked, looking up from his notes as Moonlight stepped outside, bringing a blanket with her as she did. "My apologies if I was keeping you awake."

She was an unusual one: one of the most friendly of the group, so far as he could tell at any rate, but at the same time, the one who seemed to resent contact the most. He just couldn't figure her out.

Driftwood watched Lightning drag himself into his tent, disappointed that there weren't enough ponies willing to play with him. Driftwood didn't care much for the idea of playing games, but he did feel a little sorry for the pony. He didn't seem a lot younger than himself, but he did seem to have a childlike mentality and an innocence about him that made his upset form a little unnerving.

Thinking no more of it, he returned to his place at the fire and sat down, trying to see how much he could make out ahead of him in the dark.

@@Moonlight Fire,

Not long after he had set himself by the fire, Moonlight Fire had come out of her tent and was now lying down looking up at the night sky through the trees. Bardic apologised to her in case he had been keeping her awake, Driftwood only looked into the flames and listened to them.

Jaeger was still sitting by the fire that had now grown considerably smaller when he noticed Moonlight walk out of her tent. "You alright, couldn't sleep." he said as she lied down to gaze at the stars. He followed her gaze "Wow...the stars are magnificent arn't they." he thought

I groaned as I couldn't sleep. I slowly dragged myself out of my bed and out of the tent, where a squirrel stood. Seeing as how I was upset, the squirrel attempted to cheer me up, performing a lot of tricks and whatnot. I giggled, then laughed as the squirrel performed then, then I tried to stop laughing. I finally stood up, my optimistic self again. I hugged the squirrel gently and, giggling, bounced back to the campfire, sitting next to Bardic. "How are you?" I asked, giggling.

apparently everypony has insomnia

Driftwood had been watching the fire, and did notice that it was slowly dwindling away. he went over the the small pile of assorted wood the group had collected and fed the fire with some of it. The ponies around him seemed tired, but none of them were able to sleep. Most likely they had got all worked up about the trip ahead of them and were too excited to settle down properly. Driftwood went over to where he had laid his knapsack and took out his map. He decided that instead of staring at the fire, he would try to find an efficient way through the forest tonight so the group would be ready in the morning.

Yawning, Bardic reached out to prod at the fire as driftwood added fuel to it: one of the more unusual uses he had found for his telekinesis. Shivering again, he watched as the pony left to examine some papers: a wise action in his opinion.

"Oooohh, you're good at life advice! Hey, wanna hear about the time I battled a manticore and...well, I didn't exactly lose, nor win, but it was kind of a win-win. See, I was gentle and kind to the manticore so I could get some manticore drool for my friend Zecora! Of course, then I was not allowed to enter Zecora's home again...hey, didya know that my mood usually changes depending on the situation? It usually happens, like one time I was really helpful and hard-working, the next gentle and kind. Kind of like the Mane 6, as they say in the human dimension!" I giggled.

White thought that the group was capable of surviving their way through to Canterlot, but there was a long way ahead and who knew what circumstances we will find, he was getting pretty sleepy but he quickly snapped out of it, he still was a little curious about the group, "So... Why are you guys traveling to Canterlot?" He said trying to get some chat going on.

Though eager to return to her observations, Lightning's exceedingly absurd claims quickly got to Liberta. From the tone of his voice and emotions emitted, she could find no trace of outright deception, however this was impossible. He was speaking utter madness, after all - humans, gender-swapping, manticore-taming, being close friends to national heroes, it might as well have been utter gibberish for how much sense it made. Was Lightning perhaps a little mentally unstable?

"... Why are you guys traveling to Canterlot?"

The question snapped Liberta out of her reverie, making her realize she had been staring incredulously at Lightning for some time. Quickly averting her gaze, she stared at the fire. She hadn't put much thought into why she was 'going' to Canterlot, and if she couldn't provide a believable answer, she would arose the suspicions of everyone here. Considering possible answers, she allowed someone else to go first - perhaps she could draw from their own reasons.
