Glacier shrugged. "Never heard of her." ​she announced. "I'm not particularly concerned about how my ears will handle during flight. If they work at the end of this all, I'm fine." ​Glacier paused for a moment to think of another question. "What do you actually plan on doing in Paris? I've got something in mind."

Dog Ears cocked his head. "You know what, I didn't actually think that far ahead. I was too excited to actually get out of my house and go somewhere, I didn't plan anything. I'll probably just check out all the places there. Maybtry to get to know some of the ponies on this plane. I'm sure it'll be worth it either way." Dog Ears gave Glacier a sideways glance. "Should I ask what you're planning on doing?"

Glacier smiled at Dog Ears' intrigue. "I plan on using this trip as a learning experience." ​she told him. "In a completely unknown area, who knows what I'll face? It'll be a test of how well I can apply myself to completely new challenges, a test to see if I can apply my skills in various situations. I've learnt enough from the Everfree. Now it's time to see how good I really am.

Dog Ears gave Glacier a peculiar look. "Um, you realize this is a city right? The so called "City of Love". Whatever you learned in the Everfree, I doubt it'll be useful in this situation. Perhaps if we were getting sent to an island, with the slight chance that you could get lost in a jungle, then maybe it would be useful. But like I said, this is just a city. Maybe you should... Loosen up a bit. Have fun. GO party somewhere. It's a vacation, not a mission of sorts. Just relax and have fun."

Upon being told Paris was a city, Glacier perked up and her began to twitch. "A city?" ​Glacier said with excitement. "This is great! An urban environment, all previous rules out the window, a new landscape to work with, harder challenges. This is even better! Nothing but my cunning and instinct to keep me going." A smile flew across Glacier's face, revealing her razor-sharp teeth.

Dog Ears chuckled at her excitement. "You didn't know Paris was a city? What did you think it was?" Dog Ears was unfazed at the sight of her sharp teeth. After all, if his ears could be dog ears, then her teeth could be cat teeth. But seriously, how did she not know Paris was a city? It's one of the better known cities after all.

"I just didn't know what Paris is." ​ Glacier said. "I don't know what many places are, I just have to adapt. I'm used to forests and nature so this should be a fun change. I won't be able to forage with everything covered in concrete and the creatures I meet will be better suited to the environment than I am."

 

Glacier continued to think on her plans for Paris, in particular the problem of food. She planned on spending as little of the money as possible so she needed a way of getting food that wasn't just buying it. She pondered several ideas until she decided on one that would fit all her needs.

 

"Say... I was wondering. Will there be farms and parks in Paris?"  Glacier asked.

Dog Ears pondered the question. "I doubt there will be any farms there. But I'm sure there's some parks there. Why do you ask?" Dog Ears couldn't believe how odd this pony was. She talked about other ponies as "creatures". Glacier had definitely been an isolated pony, because Dog Ears just couldn't think of another reason should would act the way she acted.

"No real reason." ​Glacier replied. "I'm just interested in the 'local cuisine', if you know what I mean." 

 

Glacier licked her lips at the thought. Inside, she was pleased at the possibility of parks, but she knew they may not be enough.

 

'Drat. A low chance of farms. I need a second way of getting food as parks may give a low yield. I may have to think on my hooves in this place.

Blazing had been a bit distracted, somehow enough to miss everypony getting on the plane. He ran towards the plane as fast as he could. "How did I not notice that?!" He said to himself as he quickly got onto the plane. "Sorry I'm late... I wasn't paying much attention." He said as he got on.

"It is quite a commendable city. Quite professional in the architecture. Lovely shops and community.  I went there once when I was young. I do not remember much so this will be a pleasant surprise. It was just a short holiday. My parents are keen on exploring other places."

Her parents liked exploring? Interests usually passed on to children, so she supposed it made sense that Crystal would have entered the contest to go to Paris.

Crystal smiled lightly. "Well then you will be in for a treat. Of course the best part is the centre piece. The eiffel tower. Though I have not actually been up there. I only stayed a few days and I was young. My parents thought I would try to fly and jump off."

 

Just then there was an announcment saying how they would be taking off in a few kinutes and that they should buckle up. It was then followed by the usual saftey instructions before the planes engines actually started off and they took flight into the sky!

Delayed by another swarm of checks, Glacier had to take the last seat available on the plane which happened to be right next to Dog Ears. She smiled as she found she had no choice but to sit next to someone who knew something about her and wouldn't have to introduce herself again.

Blazing noticed that everyone else had already started making friends before he had gotten there, and were pretty much just ignoring him. Being used to it, he just found a place where he could just sit alone. Now all I can do is wait for this plane ride to be over... He thought.

Crystal sighed. She had not been too obvious. "Oh. Well I suppose that is something I should have known. I never really asked about it. All things considered I..." She stopped for a moment, not really wanting to make this sad. "I never grew up with my birth parents. Rather I grew up with a griffon couple."

"Very funny. I don't mind sitting next to you." Dog Ears grunted as the plane took off. His ears stung with pain. He tried not to show it much, but his face reddened slightly at the effort. He hoped that the plane would begin normally flying soon, otherwise the pain would be too much for him.

Glacier shuffled in her seat to find a comfortable position. Whilst shuffling, she noticed that Dog Ears' face had suddenly reddened. "What's wrong with you?" ​she asked. "You look like you've been slapped repeatedly." 

 

​Glacier was waiting for a reply when a loud ringing started assaulting her ears. She rubbed them with a hoof to relieve the mild pain. It worked and Glacier addressed Dog Ears again.

 

"No, wait. I'm guessing the ringing in your ears is causing your face to turn into some mutated tomato."

"Stupid? Ah, we're all stupid on the inside. Anyway, you planning on taking anypony to Paris with you? Somepony special?" Minty winked. "I wanted to have at least a little romance at the most romantic city in the world! Sheesh, who is the question." Minty said, tapping her chin.
