 I think you're thinking of the "Adventures of sonic the hedgehog" series. I'm talking about the serious one, where Robotnik actually posed a legitimate threat. It's just called sonic the hedgehog.

For an accompanying essay to one of my compositions for AS Music (school stuff), I have to come up with 17 influences. Only trouble is, I had barely any influences I could quantify. I ended up stretching my imagination to weird stuff like Sonic TH game music in order to fill in the gaps. Today I had the misfortune of the tutor reading all of that aloud in class, some picked up on it and found it hilarious.
