You know, ever since I've started writing my fanfic, I've had a growing desire for the ponies to be real. That, and I think I'm becoming obsessed with Dashie

I'm actually suprised Hasbro is copping out this easily. Their expectations in today's cutthroat competition world were unreasonably lofty. I really believe Hasbro didn't do a good enough job marketing and distributing the channel.

IMO, this would actually put the future of MLP in doubt. Will it finish it's anticipated 5 remaining years on the same channel, will it switch channels, or could it be cancelled outright before their target?

The thing is, Hasbro keeps a 6 hour block, from 9-3. I could see them scale it back, and run 2 episodes a day, for an hour. There's a possibility Hasbro could choose another network, or even create it's own all together. I don't think it'll end, though. MLP:FiM is way too popular, and if they killed the show, there goes the merchandising with it.

With near 12 million adult male fans of FiM, the money made from merchandising and adds during episodes is far to much for Hasbro to ever really shut it down. Even if they began loosing the Hub fully, and magically couldn't find another network to host it they would just stream and premier new episodes on their own website. Killing off FiM would be industry suicide at this point.

Hasbro's expectations from the outset were much too high for this.

I remember after launch, they said that in 5 years they wanted to be half as big as Cartoon Network.

Unfortunately, what they wanted was a pipedream. You can't do that if half of your network is sustaining on reruns and imports apart from the original programming.

With one show carrying their entire network, it was rather far fetched to expect it to become as big as cartoon network.

It'll get resolved, one way or another. I don't think streaming it would be an option for them. I wouldn't say it would limit the exposure of the show, but it will put a damper in it, unless they find another network.

With shows reporting more viewers via netflix and hulu than on normal network tv, streaming wouldn't be to bad an option, especially if they can make a deal with apple to allow for easier mobile streaming.

No matter what happens, think of the prospect that My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic might end up outliving the network it premiered on.

That just blew my mind.

For now, anyway, Hasbro still does have that 6 hour block. MLP:FiM will probably be featured the most during that time, as they transition somewhere, or even stay at that format. Regardless of what happens, it won't leave TV all together, at least right now.

Edit: I think I'm going to call it an early night. Night, everypony
