Actually, in the movie, that's optional. They don't have to fly.

At which point in my post did I say that they have a few months to make flying cars mandatory?

Flying cars do exist. They're just too expensive and too impractical.

In a way, I'm glad 2015 won't look like that. I mean, just look at those fashions! :eww: And look at the mailbox with a fax machine on it!

The shoes are cool, though. Expensive, but cool:

They do have something like the hoverboard, but it's expensive and I think it can only fly a low height over a magnetic surface.

One place where they screwed up big time: We don't have antigravity technology yet. :derp:

It's always funny how amidst the scientific innovations they put in sci-fi, some are way to far-fetched for the era they're in, some of them are hilariously old fashioned, and some of them are H G Wells....

To be fair, the movie was made in the 80's. I don't think anyone had any real idea of what was to come in that time. It takes the form of any other futuristic movie, where the ideas are limitless. That's part of the fun of it all.

I would love flying cars, especially if I could just hover and bypass all the traffic jams, particularly around here in Metro Manila. Bye bye grounded car peasants! :yay:

I sey hey, what's going on!?

Only thing is, either it has to be really lightweight and unsafe, or heavy and use a lot or an expensive fuel source.

That's true, but it's interesting to see how accurate it is now that we've come to that time.

We don't have flying cars, antigravity, or consumer fusion reactors, but we do have the TVs that tune multiple channels at the same time, home automation, video calling, and drones (a USA Today camera drone is seen briefly after the attack on the city hall).

As for the "Scenery Channel", I think Norway already has something like it: http://en.wikpedia.org/wiki/Slow_television

Not toxic, I might have the flu though :derp:

A flea and a fly in a flu

Wer trapped, so what could they do?

Said the flea, let us fly,

Let us flee said the fly,

So they flew at a flaw in the flu

And to go along with the fusion reactor thing, alternative fuels and biofuels kinda tie into that. Recycling consumer waste, and using more available and environmentally-friendly sources of energy are becoming more mainstream.

A: that's not cheap, and B: I understand for aerodynamics it's shaped like that, but it is U-GLY!!!
