Yeah, not really the best place for it.

You know, the irony of this song is that it was supposed to be a spoof, but it turned into such a hit.

Really? I wasn't aware of that...

I heard this on the radio this morning and it's been in my head all day

That's a good song though. I'd rather have that stuck in my head than most things these days.

There is a new Bruno Mars song out that I don't mind hearing, though. It's pretty cool:

It's not typical pop. It's more like 70's funk.

It's one of those songs that really stands apart from the usual modern pop crap. It's kinda like when Aerosmith and Run DMC collaborated on the remake of Walk This Way:

Of course, good luck to the world in finding another bassist like Bernie Edwards.

That bassline is legendary.

Aerosmith and Run DMC collaborating was probably one of the greatest things to happen in music within the last 30 years.

You know, one thing I didn't learn until recently, is that the guy who played guitar on this song, is from right here in Pittsburgh. He's with Foghat now, though.

And Chaos has turned into Rising.

Sure, plenty of musicians have come from Pittsburgh. The entire lineup of Poison is from here.

We're more known for football players, though.

It's because of the huge steel industry here. you have to remember we were/are the largest steel producer in the country. During the Cold War, we were actually a the highest threat level for nuclear bombing.

Uh, Dashie, why don't you just smack him?

Have you tried telling him to calm down?

Literally, Marino, Unitas, Namath, Montana, Ditka, Pryor, Gradkowski, Kelly, Arrington, Revis... all from the area.

Yeah I know that stretch was well known for steel production....I guess I just didn't make the connection between Steel and Steelers.  :derp:

Oklahoma used to have a lead industry in the northeast part of the state. Then Tar Creek happened.

clip_image002_000.jpg

Those are piles of chat, the remnants of what is leftover during lead production. They put these mountains very close to the city of Picher. When kids were all getting learning disabilities in the city, they finally decided to investigate. Wouldn't you believe it? There was lead everywhere. In the water, in the air, on the ground....Pretty much everyone had lead poisoning in some form or fashion.

It's really an interesting story.

But yeah, the chat piles are so huge you can see them in satellite view from a way up.

It's kinda hard to see it from 20 miles up but it's definitely there. What we're focusing on it the red box.

Seriously. It's pretty massive.

A better look at how close it is to Joplin.

Seriously...how did nobody see anything bad coming from this in the past? Surely something could have been done....
