No, because you have to be able to move the mute around to get the right effect. Plus it's easier to get a plunger anyway.

Alright lol Well I only ever used straight mutes and cup mutes when I played trumpet in jazz band. I never really heard what a plunger does to an intrument. But I digress. I should start driving back to work soon or I'll be late back from my break.
