Hmm. I've never used OpenSUSE.

For a Desktop Environment, I'm more familiar with GNOME myself. On my new PC I installed Cinnamon because I prefer GNOME and don't care for the tablet-oriented interface of GNOME 3.

I gotta say I don't like those "traditional" DEs very much, but GNOME3 is just the worst xD

Hence, I'm using KDE

 

Yeah with OpenSUSE Tumbleweed (which is the rolling release version, there is a stable one too) I am always up-to-date, which is sorta important to me, something that Linux Mint or so cannot provide, and Arch Linux contains non-free software in their official repos which is just a no-go for me...

So pretty much OpenSUSE the one thing left for me

I like it, uses RPMs instead of DEBs, so you might be looking for specific software a bit longer or end up building it yourself
