Well he works with UE4, and for some reason it crashes on him (driver crash, some GPU issue).

The thing is, all other graphic intensive applications work just fine, so finding a fix isn't easy.

Could be the driver, the Graphics Card, Unreal Engine itself, but nothing he tried so far helped and people are starting to be out of ideas :/

Yup.

He already formatted his HDD and SSD, reinstalled Windows, ran memtest and some other checks. Installed driver from Nvidia website, not from Windows Update.

Yes, he did restart his PC

 

As I said, chat full of developers, at least 20 people have given suggestions, he's trying for 14 hours now. Pretty much the only things left is: bug in driver, bug in ue4, GPU broken

Sadly I still need Windows for some of my games

And I get upset about Windows every time I start it... how can it be so sloooooooo... *beep* "Microsoft Windows stopped responding. [Terminate] [Cancel]"

Like, seriously? The worst thing is, both buttons do the same... nothing, Windows still works. :|

Yeah, I'll still use if for my games and what not, but not for productivity and day to day stuff. Just the privacy concerns with MS & Windows 10 is enough to make me switch OS's right now. x.x

Nah, Ubuntu is fine for getting into Linux, I just really dislike it's interface and that it (think you can turn it off by now) had web search and Amazon integrated into their filesystem search (like Win10 does now)

 

And, as you're coming from Mac, http://elementary.io/is sorta trying to copy it, but I never used it, so can't say how good it is

 

If you want something that is really stable and lightweight, check out Mint https://linuxmint.com/it's interface is rather Windows like.

 

And if you want cutting edge, fancy Windows-ish interface check out http://manjaro.github.io/or https://www.opensuse.org/ (tumbleweed = cutting edge, leap = stable) with KDE interface
