A lot of riffling - ideally 7 times, then i put down about 10 cards at a time to somewhat "reverse" the deck's order, then repeat 3 or so times.

From an article on shuffling

"Random fact from my dad the statistician: A perfect riffle shuffle on a 52-card deck seven times insures some sort of randomization, at least in the mathematical sense. Therefore it follows that a 60-card deck needs around eight riffle shuffles to become randomized. Of course, it's highly unlikely that a person can completely randomize their cards by executing a "perfect" riffle shuffle"

In his "Making History" book Stephen Fry asks "would you go back in time and kill Hitler before any of the bad things?"

Most people would say yes.

Stephen then asks, what if that allowed someone worse to take take charge? Maybe someone who said "Giant tanks like land-based battleships? Nah, just keep building Tigers"

...reminds me of a link I saw on YouTube recently, unfortunately the video was in Hindi with no subtitles - video was titled "Did the Nazis have a time machine?"
