You brought up good points there.  Nostalgia always tends to make me sad....

 

There are also "graduation goggles," which happens when something is about to end and you begin look back and remember it better than it was.

 

Like when you graduate, you think back and say "You're going to miss school," even though you were miserable the whole time.
