Theres some European... thing that exempts those users from not being able to delete their account for... reasons. I mean delete and not ban.

Yeah, think that's GDPR, the pokemon forum I used to be staff on had to do all kinds of stuff to comply with that including allowing European users to have their accounts deleted if requested which wasn't allowed before that.

Can't remember if it did that too but I remember the tech staff were having a headache as deleting accounts rather than disabling them caused problems with the forum software for some reason and there were some other legalistic hoops they had to jump through, I wasn't involved with that side of things and didn't really understand it though, I was just involved with moderation/art there.
