Icicle the Ice Pony 14 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 I dont even KNOW how to draw ponies, but when I'm trying, anypony have some good vector programs? Heard Gimp was good, but not sure for vectors. Also, if you're feeling nice, would somepony also mind putting how to actually make one? It is a open source (free) program that is very good and perfect for vectoring ponies. There are a bunch of tutorials on the internet. You can find a bunch of them here and here and if you need further help there's good youtube tutorials if you search for inkscape pony vector tutorial or something. If that isn't enough, feel free to add me on Skype and I'll see if I can help you myself Edited August 14, 2013 by Jokuc
PonyEcho 1,610 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 Inkscape is free and the best tool for vectoring in my opinion, there's also Photoshop and Paint tool Sai but those cost you so I would go with Inkscape or the edited version Ponyscape. my DA http://heavyecho.deviantart.com/ check my stuff out the Anime Club http://mlpforums.com/topic/48196-the-anime-club/ plz join us

I am inclined to agree with Jokuc here, Inkscape is great for vectoring ponies and it's not all that difficult, just look up some tutorials. I am sure there are plenty on YouTube My OC's Viola Soulstrings Solar Ray Miles Check out my FIMFiction account ^^
Jokuc 8,174 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 the edited version Ponyscape. Well I tried to download ponyscape because of the new features (which I wouldn't really need anyways since I find it hard to do things in a new way when I am used to something else) but anyways, for some reason, ponyscape took me ages and ages to open so I didn't use it. Slaigh 118 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 As others said, Inkscape is best. As for tutorials I used Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZ7PbPcfxus http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6x8r5Rl6Qc Here is a video showcasing a feature in an unreleased beta type stage of Inkscape called powerstroke, plus it teaches shading. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YypHgbUlh4Q Also, the Creative Resources section of the forum is a great place to master vectorizations, after your fairly familiar with the program maybe try doing a request for someone! I didn't know how to draw ponies either prior to Inkscape, but the tutorials were good enough/ the program is user friendly enough that these were my first two creations from the doing a couple requests. Do you like Ponies? Do you like Science? Of course you do! So why not put your computer's unused computing power to aid researchers in fighting diseases? "But my computer isn't good enough for science!" Of course it is, any computer or laptop can run the program. Head on over to http://bronyathome.org/ to learn how you can help! Shiki 5,857 August 14, 2013 Share August 14, 2013 If all you're going to do is vector ponies, go with Inkscape. If you're going to do more complex things, go with Adobe Illustrator. Don't pay for AI if you're not going to use the entire thing. May as well use something free that includes the only tools necessary for simple pony vectoring. You'll be entranced by me ♥
