I dont even KNOW how to draw ponies, but when I'm trying, anypony have some good vector programs? Heard Gimp was good, but not sure for vectors. Also, if you're feeling nice, would somepony also mind putting how to actually make one?

Nonono, throw Gimp away. Inkscape is your friend. It is a open source (free) program that is very good and perfect for vectoring ponies. There are a bunch of tutorials on the internet. You can find a bunch of them here and here and if you need further help there's good youtube tutorials if you search for inkscape pony vector tutorial or something. If that isn't enough, feel free to add me on Skype and I'll see if I can help you myself :)

I am inclined to agree with Jokuc here, Inkscape is great for vectoring ponies and it's not all that difficult, just look up some tutorials. I am sure there are plenty on YouTube :)

the edited version Ponyscape.

Well I tried to download ponyscape because of the new features (which I wouldn't really need anyways since I find it hard to do things in a new way when I am used to something else) but anyways, for some reason, ponyscape took me ages and ages to open so I didn't use it.

As others said, Inkscape is best. As for tutorials I used Youtube.

Here is a video showcasing a feature in an unreleased beta type stage of Inkscape called powerstroke, plus it teaches shading.

Also, the Creative Resources section of the forum is a great place to master vectorizations, after your fairly familiar with the program maybe try doing a request for someone!

I didn't know how to draw ponies either prior to Inkscape, but the tutorials were good enough/ the program is user friendly enough that these were my first two creations from the doing a couple requests.

Do you like Ponies? Do you like Science?  Of course you do!

So why not put your computer's unused computing power to aid researchers in fighting diseases?

"But my computer isn't good enough for science!" Of course it is, any computer or laptop can run the program.

Head on over to http://bronyathome.org/ to learn how you can help!

If all you're going to do is vector ponies, go with Inkscape. If you're going to do more complex things, go with Adobe Illustrator.

Don't pay for AI if you're not going to use the entire thing. May as well use something free that includes the only tools necessary for simple pony vectoring.
