@,

Locke nodded and looked at Watson. The Gengar knew what his opener would be. "Alright then. On the count of three." Watson shimmered and got into a defensive pose. "Three." Watson let a series of waves shoot out of his mind. The waves headed towards Shadow. Watson had used Hypnosis.

Shadow's response to that was to shoot a Shadow Ball between the rings as a distraction. Immediately following that, he jumped directly up, over the hypnosis, running behind the flickering ball of anti-light. Upon the ball's connection or deflection, Shadow intended to bite down on his opponent.

"Watson! Focus Blast through the Shadow Ball!" The Gengar jumped backwards as the orange ball was formed in front of him. Just before the Shadow Ball connected, Watson shot the orange ball of energy into the attack. The blast went right through the Shadow Ball, and Locke hoped that the Umbreon was directly behind it. If it hit, it would do massive damage.

Shadow saw his ball fluxuate and ducked in time to see a large projectile come out of the now-disappated Dark Ball and sail over his head. She used Quick Attack to get closer, and jumpped at the Gengar, using Bite. Synthia bit her lip, Come on Shadow, you can do this! We trained soooo hard for this!

@,

Watson stumbled back, but the bite caught his arm. "Watson trap it!" The Gengar grabbed Shadow, keeping the Umbreon's jaws clamped on his arm as well as keeping him in place. Watson once again began creating an orange ball of energy, but this time it would be a tough escape. If it could even escape.

Shadow panicked, squirming and thrashing in the grip. She shot a dear-and-headlights look at Synthia, who was busy thinking this out. "Shadow, use Shadow Ball!" she called, still thinking. Shadow turned his head and looked directly at Watson's face. The ball bubbled to life and shot off. At best, it would distract the Gengar long enough to let him go.

Watson shot the orange ball, but not before getting blasted with the attack of the Umbreon. He stumbled backward, dropping Shadow, but regained his composure quickly. "Watson! Use hypnosis! And follow it with a Focus Blast!" The Gengar shot several waves that would put the umbreon to sleep, and quickly began creating an orange ball of energy.

As soon as she was dropped, Shadow jumped at Watson with a bite. She was getting hit by hypnosis, but she was so scared at that moment, having been held point-blank from a ball of pure energy and barely escaping, that it wasn't working. The Gengar kept moving, though, so Shadow began circling, jumping in to bite whenever she saw an opening.

Meanwhile, in a quiet are of the Island, Milesand his Flygon were doing some intense training, with the Flygon improving... Everything, and his trainer giving him iron, calcium, carbos etc in an attempt to increase their chances of winning. During this, he stopped to reflect on what the consequences of this tournament could possibly be. He still couldn't get over the fact that the island he was on was a bomb. A bomb that would kill millions, no, billions of people and Pokémon. He felt uneasy. He felt that he was being watched. His Flygon came over to comfort him, and said something that could be translated as 'Even if the bomb explodes, I will still be with you. And I would like a full restore right about now.' Miles gave Dragonfly a sitrus berry (responded by a scowl from Flygon) and headed off to find everyone else.
