It has been several years since three of the four Princesses died, and all of Equestria has mourned. 

A year ago,  an evil, powerful pony named Poison Hex threatened Equestria, and Princess Twilight Sparkle and the Bearers of Harmony went to defeat it. 

They were only partially successful. 

Poison Hex was very powerful, and managed to separate the Bearers of Harmony from their respective Elements long enough to poison them. They retrieved their Elements and used them against Poison, but were only able to seal her away due to their weakened, poisoned state.

They died before they could be healed, and as they did, Twilight used the last of her energy to perform a spell that was intended to disconnect the six mares from their Elements and protect the Elements until they found new Bearers.

The spell did not go as planned.

Instead of disconnecting and protecting the Elements of Harmony, she created twelve new Elements, the Elements of Emotion, and the Elements of Harmony lost their power as their Bearers died. these new Elements were found just a week ago.

Sunny Dew, one of Celestia's former top students, second only to Twilight Sparkle, mourned the losses as well. She had been appointed to become the newest Princess, and her coronation was soon.

She was the first to receive word of the new Elements, and quickly wrote and sent letters to several ponies in Equestria. 

 

It was a beautiful day in Equestria, despite the events to come. Ponyville looked equally beautiful. It was peaceful and quiet; the only disturbances being the occasional rustle of leaves, more often than not within the Everfree.
Despite the glorious scenery and cloudless sky, a very important pony was in her room.
 
Sunny Dew paced in her little suite in the Ponyville Hotel. She was nervous about many things. 
"I can't help but feel that something ominous is going to happen today," she muttered to herself. "I can only hope that I'm wrong…"
 
"We have to find them."
 

 
"Sparky! We got mail!" called out an excited red Pegasus with a golden mane, bright blue eyes, and yellow feathers.
"Who from?" asked the pony the Pegasus had called; an orange Unicorn with a scarlet mane and multicolored eyes. 
"Dunno, haven't opened it yet."
"Then open it, Firecracker, or let me see."
"Here ya go!" Firecracker tossed the letter to the Unicorn, who rolled her eyes and caught the scroll in a sky-blue aura.
"Sometimes, I can't believe you're actually my sister. We're so different," she muttered.
Color Spark opened the scroll and started to read.

Her jaw dropped. Twelve new Elements? How could this be?
"What's wrong, sis?" Firecracker turned her head around so she could see.
"Oh WOW! Twelve Elements of Harmony now? We should go see!"
"But what if-"
"We have to go see, Sparky! it'll be so cool!" Firecracker was just about in poor Spark's face, giving her an overenthusiastic, thousand-watt grin. 
"But we-"
"Pleeeeeeease?" Fire put on her best puppy dog face. Spark rolled her eyes, conceding.
"Alright, fine. Go get packed."
Firecracker squealed with delight and darted up to her loft to get ready.
Not too long later, the sisters arrived at the train station. They gave the conductor their letter for the free ticket and got on.
 

 
Sweet Symphony had had a pretty good morning so far. The voices were quiet, for once, and so far she hadn't had any other delusions or hallucinations. She was lounging about in her home, and suddenly heard the [racism 3]! of the mailbox. She went outside to see the Invermare mailpony fly away. She opened her mail box, and out dropped a scroll. She opened it and read it, and immediately headed inside. She was shocked. Twelve new Elements? Huh. She knew everypony she knew would try to convince her to go, so she decided to save them the trouble and go anyway. She had always wanted to go to Ponyville at any rate. She had heard there was a lot of nature and the birds loved sinigng there. Perhaps she could take a detour to go sing to them before they started. She packed up a few things and promptly left.

Lyona was sitting in her new house, more specifically, the kitchen. She heard her mailbox being opened. Might as well go get my daily newspaper. She yawned, trotting to her door. However, what she found was certainly not her newspaper. 

 

" What's this?" Lyona muttered, reading it's contents. " New elements? Well, we do need something to protect Equestria, the Royal Guard doesn't really cut it. " She went back inside her house, and placed the scroll at her table. The pegasus quickly changed out of her bathrobe, and cleaned herself up. As she passed through the kitchen, she looked sadly at the breakfast she had just made. 

 

" I'll come back for you." She promised, and went out of the door.

After some walking, she reached the Ponyville Library. Should I knock? Lyona pondered, but then shrugged. It can't hurt to be polite. Four quick knocks later, Lyona waited patiently at the door.

@@LittleRawr, Well, Sunny's in the Hotel at the moment, so i'll make a random OC show up.))

Blue Bell, the pony who had been taking care of the library since princess and her friends dies, looked up from dusting. She trotted over and opened the door.

"Oh. Hi, you must be here for finding about the new Elements. Sorry, it's not starting for a while as the Princess-to-be isn't here yet, but you could come in to wait if you'd like."

" Thanks." Lyona walked into the library. It hasn't changed much... Not that I was ever here too often. " Gosh dang it, that means I left my breakfast for nothing."  The pegasus pouted a little. " Oh, well. I'll manage..."

 

She then looked at Blue Belle curiously. " Do you know anything about the letter that was sent to me? About the new elements?"

Fire just laid on the bed, there wasn't really much left to do. Her entire team and died and she was the only one left, the single tear that left her eye was the only thing she would let through. She heard the door of her barracks, now empty and silent, open and an official mail stallion walked in. He passed the scroll to Fire Sharp and left, giving her a quick nod to show respect for her lost team. 

She opened the scroll and read it through. 12 new elements, she had been working harder than ever since the original elements died and now she had the chance to restart the chance of things going back to the way they were, or at least close to it as she looked over all the empty beds. 

She left her place on her bed and walked up to her stand in General, he nodded to her.

"We have transport for ya, go."

Fire walked past him and jumped into the back of the jeep, all through the journey she was wondering what was going to happen.

 

When she got to ponyville she walked through town, she still had her military jacket on but the letter said that she was to meet at the library and she wasn't so sure they would let a war mare in. She was even early too. She got the door and knocked, wondering if they were here yet.

"Hmmm.... I can't say I know much. I'm only here because I stepped up to take care of the Library until they found a qualified librarian for it. So, i'm not privy to much information. What were you-" Bell was interrupted by more knocking. She cantered to the door and opened it.

"Hello," she said, creasing her brow in confusion at the sight of the mare's apparel. "Are you here about the Elements as well?"

"Yes ma'am, couple hour drive out here. I was told to come to the library here in this town."

Fire Sharp was polite and had a mask on, a mask she used a lot now after the death of her team. She didn't know exactly was going on but she was going to follow orders because that was her job. And the letter did want her here.

Chamois received the letter in the middle of painting.  When the letter slipped through the door and fell to the floor, she dropped her paint brush in surprise.  The paint splattered over the painting as it fell.

"No!" Chamois whispered, staring at the blue paint splattered on the green grass.

She stared at it for a moment and then spun towards the cause of her mistake.  She went over and picked up the letter, tearing them open with her magic as she went towards her painting.  She slipped the first scroll out of the envelope and glanced down at it.

"Oh..." she said as she paused to read the whole thing.

In less than ten minutes, Chamois was packed up and out the door.  She never quite liked paint anyway.

Lyona opened her mouth to reply, but she was also interrupted by the door. She looked curiously at the new pony, wondering who was she. Is she... From the military  Sure looks like it. I was from the royal guard, and not for too long at that, so she doesn't look too familiar.

"Alright, you're a bit early, but come on in." Blue Bell held the door for the pony.

 

A train pulled into the station, and two sisters stepped off.

'Thanks Mr Steam!" Firecracker called to the conductor. 

"Thank you, sir. Sorry about my sister!"

The two mares made their way to the Library.

'Wow, it's such a pretty place here! Lookit those flowers, Sparky! "

"Yes, Fire, they're very nice." Clolor's voice was flat, sarcastic, but she looked, just to humor her. It was a very pretty flower bouquet, but she knew it could look better. With a quick zap of her magic, the colors were brighter and the flowers wee reorganized to look nihtv.

Fire walked through the open door.

"Thank you ma'am and I do apologise for getting here early, we didn't hit anything on the way here so I got here earlier than planned."

Fire nodded and gave the mare a small reassuring smile. 

She looked across and saw a cream coloured pegasus waiting inside also, she must've gotten here early too. Fire held out her hoof towards the mare.

"Hello, I'm Fire Sharp ma'am. You here for any reason?"

Fire was cautious, she didn't know if the mare knew what was happening but she had an inkling she did because the librarian mentioned that someone else knew as well.

Lyona shook Fire Sharp's hoof, a careful smile on her face. " My name is Lyona. Nice to meet you." She broke free of the hoof-shake. " I'm here about the new elements. I suppose you came for the same reason?"

 

She seems nice enough. Polite, as far as I can see. Lyona looked at Fire Sharp with a discerning eye. We'll probably get along well enough, I hope.

Just outside the borders of Ponyville lay a large house with a blue pony out in the front yard. To anypony's eyes, she was just a natural being who wants to be out, but in truth there was nothing she could see. Now the pony could hear and feel things with no problem, but it was a little setback for her.

Moon's head turned toward the direction of an opening mailbox, going toward the general direction and was greeted by the man. "A good morning to you ma'am. Today's a fine day, is it not?"

 

She nodded to agree and included a smile. "Weather feels alright, but could be a tad bit better~

 

They continued on with a little chat, until the stallion had put all the mail in her mailbox and said his goodbyes. So without hesitation Moon felt where the opening was and grabbed everything. Feels like everything is mostly the same, so i'll set those aside.. Hm, what's this?

 

The funny note that was the invitation had gotten her attention, and immediately called back for the stallion. "Sir! I hate to ask but could you spare a moment to read this for me?"

By then he was fairly up, but heard her call for help and headed back down again. When he got there, he picked up the note from her hooves and scanned it a little. "To read this to you? I'd be glad to but, I thought you could read right?"

 

"I'm actually blind sir."

"Oh, well... Sorry for questioning you then. I'll get to reading."

 

After a moment's worth of time, both ponies were shocked at what they read. Twelve new elements? But how could there be such?

So Moon raced back into her house and grabbed a few things to stuff into her saddlebag. Then coming back out and handing the stallion a few bits just before leaving to the Library, where everyone was meeting at.

Fire Sharp gave the mare a more warming smile, she was trying to make friends. She had an idea that they were going to work together and knowing each other better will probably help out in the end.

Lyona tapped a hoof against her chin in thought. " Well... What does your cutie mark mean?" Lyona hadn't seen firearms in her whole life, having relied on more traditional means.

After a while of trotting in different directions, the blind mare had finally made it to the center, where she was guided by other ponies in the direction of the Library. Upon arrivial, Moon had a little trouble getting to the door but eventually felt the knob and started to open it. Oh I hope this is the right place, and not just some funny prank some ponies pulled on me..

"Sorry, I'm just used to the training. You know, call everyone either ma'am or sir and then be off out of their way. And my Cutie mark? Their two sniper rifles, my talent is markmanship, sharp shooting, you know that kind of thing. I have excellent aim and great eyesight."

Fire pointed to her brown eyes. It was nice to be more causal than what she usually had to be.

"So ah, what do you do for a living? I kind of figured out your talent."

" Oh yeah! Well, it's been a while since I was in training, so I kinda forgot that. " Lyona smiled awkwardly. " A sniper rifle? Must be one of those new weapons everypony has been talking about... Never really seen one before. It's nice to see one in the flesh. Don't mind me and my horrible puns." A little laugh managed to escape.

 

Lyona looked at her cutie mark, one big paw print. " Ah, well, you guessed right. If you were thinking about animals being my special talent, that is. More specifically, felines."

"Hello, Miss~! I'm Blue Bell. are you here to hear about the new Elements as well?"

 

Symphony looked out the window as the train gradually came to a stop. She got up and exited onto the platform. She still had some time; she could probably go down and sing to the animals she had heard lived near the Everfree. She smiled and quickly set off on her way.

Fire looked curiously at the mare, she didn't seem that she was military. Especially since that she didn't recognize a simple rifle.

"Sorry I have to ask, you were in the Equestrian military? I would've thought that standard recognition of weapons would've been in the curriculum for some time now, of course they didn't have something so similar in my days at the academy but I knew the difference between a rifle and a shotgun."

Fire Sharp was now even more curios about the mare, where in the hell did she train?

"Heh, yes I am." she replied in a happy manner. "My name is Moon Wave. It's nice to meet somepony who's already made me feel good~"

There was a little pause in the sentence, but continued. "So tell me, what is this all about?"

" I was in the Royal Guard prior the death of the original Elements of Harmony. Back then we used swords and the like. My favorites were the wing blades, I still have them somewhere back home. " Lyona explained, remembering her old weapons fondly. Too bad they're probably all rusted...

After a night long party at one of his friend's house, Winter Chill wakes up, stretching about and yawns. He gets out of bed and looks outside the window as a letter drops down from the door. "Who could this be from..?", he says with curiosity and lifts it up with his magic opening it and reading the letter slowly. As he folds the paper back into the envelope, he rushes back towards his room and packs up his saddlebag and gets ready to go to Ponyville.

After the train ride, he walks and looks around trying to find the library. After asking a few ponies for direction, he finds the library and sighs. He opens the library doors to see a few ponies already inside conversing about the topic at hand.

"Royal Guard? No wonder you're so slow with this, you realise that you Guards have been nearly 20 years behind the rest of the forces in Equestria. Guards are almost considered the lowest form of action compared to everyone else, you guys are so far behind."

Fire kept shaking her head, a guard. She was talking to a guard about simple guns and now she was explaining the slowness of the mare's force to her. Fire Sharp wasn't expecting this.

Lyona frowned. " Hey, at least we still did something. We came first, before the rest of the forces. We managed to protect Equestria just fine then, considering there wasn't that many of us."

 

Equestria didn't really need the protection back then either, since we had the Elements of Harmony.
