gaming Paradox Interactive, anyone? (Victoria, HoI, CK, EU)

Does anyone else like to play Paradox games? I love them, but they got dull playing against the same old predictable AI. It'd be cool if some of us could set up a multiplayer game!

Nearly played all games from Paradox. VIctoria 1+2, Europa Universalis 1+2+3 and the fourth i'm getting soon, Heart of Iron 1+2+3 and of course all the addons and several mods too.

 

But for an Multiplayer-game, i'm honestly too weak.

What are they about? What genera are they? What do you do in them? (I know I could google but often its better to hear what someone thinks about it whos played and enjoyed it )

They are historical strategy games, where each one of them plays in an different era.

 

Europa Universalis Series beginns from 14/15th century and ends at the beginning of the industrial revolution.

 

Victoria Series is all about the industrial revolution, 1. world war, imperialism and ends in 1935.

 

Hearts of Iron is completely focused on the 2.World War.

 

 

 

Actually that's an extreme simplified description above. You chose one of the existing countries and lead it through to the end date.

The awesome thing about them is, you can completely change the world-history. Conquering as a Fascist America the world? No problem. a europe united under swiss banner? Sure, go ahead.

 

Hell, Victoria 2 has even awesome flags made for each country and their current goverment.

 

 

They are overall really complex games.

I totally love paradox games, since I used to play them a lot when I was a kid on my PC. I think that, if they made more of them I would still play them these days.

To add to Gefreiter, they're fun rewarding games, if you enjoy staring at maps all day :< There's something about watching your Empire grow that's just charming.

 

Victoria 2 is my personal favorite, it's extremely difficult and changing the world map drastically is hard for the first fifty years, but crazy stuff can happen. America became a Kingdom and went through two decades of constant revolutions before finally returning to Democracy, all because they lost two major wars one right after an other. Another time the countries colonizing Africa included Japan and Mexico. It's really unpredictable, which is what makes the whole thing so fun.

I only like Paradox because they are involved in the Mount and Blade series that I have spent many years playing, other that that, I don't remember playing any of their games.
