So how many of you watch Doctor who?

*raises hand*

OK, so now, at some point this year, Doctor who will have its 50th year anniversary. That makes it "the longest-running science fiction television show in the world" which only adds to the hype that I have.

so, exactly how many of you are hyped for its cinematic release? (yeah, It's coming out in cinema)

Fun fact: Doctor who is also "the "most successful" science fiction series of all time—based on its over-all broadcast ratings, DVD and book sales, and iTunes traffic."

Yeah.

Pretty hyped! I'm fascinated by the John Hurt reveal in the last episode and *soooooo* much want to see what comes of that.

Now as for cinema... do you mean the 50th anniversary special going to theatres, or are you referring to the rumored DW film that Moffat recently (relatively) poo-pooed? The film I'm not so hyped about because I'm old enough to remember the *last* set of DW films with Peter Cushing, and the odd Fox movie with Paul McGann.

We haven't met yet. I'm Kip. Not only is Doctor Who my favorite show, but I discovered the magical world of MLP and the pony fandom thanks to Dr. Whooves.

I was hoping for months in the very core of my Whovian brony heart that MLP would do some sort of tribute to the Doctor Who 50th anniversary. And then all my hopes were fulfilled when I found out the season four premiere would not only air on November 23rd, but it would involve Twilight witnessing the transformation of Princess Luna into Nightmare Moon. *squee*

It's like waiting for a million Christmases packed into one day.

I don't like the new Doctor.

Ah come one, he hasn't even had one episode yet. I love Tennant and Smith too, but give him chance.

Also, yeah, I'm psyched, though not necessarily for the cinema release. I'd rather they'd put whatever money they spent on making that happen into the special itself. A two hour Doctor extravaganza would have been an awesome cap to the first half century. It would have been even more awesome if Eleven regenerated at the end of the special instead of the Christmas episode, but I digress.

And I'm with @@Fhaolan on the movie thing. The Doctor we got out of it may have been worth it...

...but everything else...meh.

I am really excited for the new 50th Anniversary.

We get to see David again, after all!

I'm a little bit sceptical about the new Doctor, but I haven't seen him in action yet so I can't judge.

It seems like everything's happening in November. DW, MLP and Catching Fire. Some other things too, but I forgot.

Oh, I wish that was true over here. Though we did get Equestria Girls in the Seattle area despite not being on the initial distribution list, so maybe those theatres can be convinced to do something likewise for Doctor Who.

I wonder what it would take?

I agree completely regarding the new Doctor, wait and see. New Doctors take some getting used to, especially when the previous actor has not been doing it long. The exception was David Tennant, but the Christopher Eccleston only did it for one series....

And don't forget, the 50th anniversary special is on the same day as the MLP:FiM season 4 premier.... so its gonna be a good day.
