What are the Character Archives For?

Ok... so I realized that the Character Archives here are not used anymore. But it's always bothered me on why they still exist if they're not being used anymore. Why don't they all get transferred to the more recent character archives section?

They were there because they were full of old characters when the switch made, meaning that a lot of people would lose a lot of content if they were deleted. They were kept so half the website's userbase wouldn't get screwed over.

 

It's been a while since the switch was made and it's become a bit obsolete, but there hasn't been much of a reason to go ahead and delete them yet.

They're never going to be removed, really. Not everyone on that list will recreate them in the database due to either not being online anymore, or never getting around to it. I put a very clear message in the forum description:

 

This forum is no longer postable to users. Some time back, the entire forum switched its' character profile organization strategy to use the Character Database instead, making this forum you're currently in, obsolete. Should you wish to create a character profile, please use the Character Database instead. Thanks!
