Can a cutie mark appearing be manipulated, as its cause is a mental revelation?

Something I was wondering about, partially based off a game called  "super filly adventure." You play as Jade, a filly new to town with a blank flank. Pinkie is going to throw you a party, you hand out invitations, make muffins, and get your cutie mark by protecting the town from a dragon. It's a really simple game, but one of the alternate endings is getting a muffin cutie mark.

If you make the muffins right and give it to derpy, she simply appears at the party with no change to the ending. However, if you make 'baked bads' and give them to her, she still finds them amazingly delicious, Jade decides that being a muffin maker must be her special talent, getting a muffin cutie mark, though everyone else but derpy get sick from eating the bad muffins.

So basically, if a mental revelation of seeing that something you can do great can cause that mental revelation that makes a cutie mark appear, can that same process be manipulated to getting the cutie mark that you want? As seen in 'The cutie Pox' and "call of the cutie" artificial mean CANNOT cause a cutie mark to appear. However, if an outside influence made it appear as if you're good at something you're not, then the resulting mental revelation will be genuine.

For example, a family of ponies all have soccer related cutie marks. However, their child isn't that good at soccer, and looks like he's fixing to be a librarian. The parents pay a group of ponies to play horribly against their son, and the son wipes the floor with the group. Thus, he thinks that soccer really IS his destiny. Could he get a soccer related cutie mark from that, because he truly DOES believe that it's his talent in his heart, or would that still not be enough?

Just something I was wondering about.

Oh, for those curious about the game I mentioned, here's the link. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/579165

When the pony who is trying to get the cutie mark, learns what their talent is and if it stays true to their heart then it can be achieved. A cutie mark can't exactly be manipulated because, if it's something that your not good at then you would have to find a way to manipulate it to your advantage.

Hmmm well it also kind of tells you you're destiny so maybe not besides cutie marks would probably take more than being good at soccer to get

"If you feel the need to treat me like garbage, I'll feel the need to throw you into the back of a compressing garbage truck."

"I'd rather "go to hell" for hugging a guy I like then makeout in heaven with a girl I don't."

"If someone has the intention of changing who you are, or stopping you from doing what you like, bite out your tongue before they can change you"

Most likely the child would not get a soccer cutie mark. If the next day he plays soccer with the same ponies or a different group, they well most likely beat him and he well once agin be shown that this is not what he is meant to do.

The way i've always thought of cutie marks like, is that ponies are born with some innate ablity based on their talent, and that thing is what they will get their cutie mark for.

And until they complete that action and realize it is what they're good at, they remain a blank flank.

Just my thoughts, obtaining cutie marks really hasn't been covered much in the cannon to be honest though. Atleast not this indepth.
