Blaze felt an odd feeling in his stomach when Solar had complimented Wish. He ignored the feeling and smiled. "No I don't know anyone here. And um... weather? Is that cuz I'm a pegasus? Nah I'm just joking you're a pegasus anyway. But yea I'm kinda in the dark here where it comes to knowing ponies here."

Solar looked back to blaze. "Yea....I'm um....just trying to lighten the mood, you know, start some small chat.." as he let out an awkward giggle. "Um, Blaze...is it? Can I ask you a question? My wings um...they kind of feel funny, and um...I don't want to check infront of her...um could you give me a...you know...sign...if they are...um"

 

Solar looked back at Wish "...So, um, It's a lovey house you have here, but not as lovely as you....." He did it again. All he could do was smile awkwardly at the mare.

Wish blinked, her head lagging behind as shy processed what had just been said... 
 
'You're supposed to say something now. Quickly, say something. Anything.'
 
"Uhm... Thank you?" She said questioningly at the guard with the slightest hint of a blush: flattered but very much taken by surprise by the compliment.
 
Well, It was a pretty good Icebreaker at least.
 
"Yeah, um, so..." She tried to get back on track with what she had been about to say. "When we got the letter it just said that the invites would be taken care of: I think we just assumed that it meant friends and family and stuff."

Blaze cocked his head. "What do you-Oh never mind I get it. Yea you might want to uh..." Blaze just rolled his head a little and looked at Wish. "So uh... You got reunited with your brother right? That's pretty top. I don't have any siblings or anything, so I'm not really sure what to say about that. Um... Congratulations?" Blaze gave Wish a sheepish smile.

"That's kind of weird. I thought that....I don't really know what to think. Why would somepony just...throw a bunch of ponies into a large mansion that hardly know each other and....wait....wasn't there something about a time...I was kind of distracted by...um...you."

 

Solar tried to take attention off the crush he had developed for the mare.

 

"Um...So I wonder if our occupations could be the common factor in the...um..invites? I'm a rookie member of Celestia's Guard...and that pony over there is a member of Luna's Guard...I wonder...."

"Oh Ohhhh! Thanks Blaze" as he took a quick glace at his wings. "Well, I...Never mind."

"Yeah! I didn't really think it merited a celebration though..." She explained. "He left home and when he didn't come back or write or anything for a few years... I went looking for him. I don't think our family was too pleased about it but..."
 
She shrugged again - the slight smile breaking out into a fuller one.

"Well, me and Scribe don't have anything to do with the guard. At least, I don't think he does. That armors an antique - its not uniform or anything."

Blaze shook his head. "Well I'll definitely confirm it. I'm just a mechanic so... nothing there. Maybe it was just random, but I don't know. But on a different note, where are you guys from? I'm a Trottingham fellow if you couldn't already tell from the accent... I'm not very good with ice breakers..."

"Really? Me too! Well... kind of. We grew up on a farm outside of town!" Wish beamed. "I didn't really go into town much though, we pretty much grew up with the other farmers and stuff. It's been quite a while since I was there actually..."
 
Well... there was something linking Blaze finder to them after all!
 
"Huh, maybe this 'mutual friend' really is just somepony who knows us all somehow..."

Blaze's face contorted into an unsure sort of look. "i doubt it. I have a very small group of friends, and each of them know I'm not one for parties. I think it's just a philanthropist or some other guy being nice, while wanting to stay anonymous. It could be as simple as that, but then again, there seems to be a link between you and myself, as well as Solar and that other guard. For now I'm gonna go with the former assumption and not worry about anything.

Solar sat there for a moment thinking. "This pony who invited us all must be from a long line of nobility. I just remembered that this big old house is in the oldest section of Canterlot. Do you two know any nobility? I know I don't. I just started my life as a guard a few months ago, and this is my first time out of the castle since....Dose you brother know any nobility?"

 

Solar's wings were finally returning to normal as he was finally becoming comfortable around the mare.

"What, Scribe? I doubt it: he's not a big fan of, uh, nobles." She explained. "I don't know though, maybe. If he does, he's not told me."
 
Before he left, Scribe had always been very outspoken against the 'rich and heartless', as he had once called them. Much as he had matured on his travels she doubted that he would have changed his views so radically that he started to befriend them.
 
"The letter said not to arrive after seven, maybe we'll find out more then?"

"Wish, from my experience around them......Your brother is right. The keep trying to bribe me to get them closer to the princesses. I think they know that I'm new and trying to exploit me. It drives me nuts what they try to do. That's why I thought I origionaly got invited here....as a bribe from one of them."

 

It took a moment for what Wish said to sink in. "Wait, What! what could be so important about seven, other than the sun starts setting, and moon starts rising." Solar was thinking in his head, his eyes moving back ad forth as he though about what he just said.

"Um..I think I've spent too much time in the Castle lately...." He was trying to think of something else to take his mind off of work, however what came out of his mouth didn't help hide his crush on the mare. "...So...Do you have a special somepony Wish..Crap, why did I say that out loud. I...I'm sorry..I always know how to put a hoof in my mouth around mares...you should have heard what I said to Princess Luna the first time I met her...I'm surprised I didn't get sent to the moon." He laughed trying to defuse the situation.

"A what?" Wish said, again taking a brief moment to try and decide if she had heard him correctly. "Uh, no. I guess not. I've spent the best part of two years on the road. Or off it usually. Never really had time for stuff like that I suppose."

She looked up at a clock on the wall - pendulum swinging in a grand arch beneath it.

 

"I wonder what happened to Scribe and..." She cut off that line of though and looked at the pair of stallions. "Do you two want to go exploring before it turns seven? This place looks huge: I want to know what's here!"

"That sounds really fun actualy. With how big this old mansion is, I'm sure we can find something. What do you say Blaze?"

 

Solar was looking all around the main room, trying to figure out where would be the best place to start exploring when his stomach decided where he wanted to find for him.

 

"You don't suppose that there is a kitchen nearby, do you? I didn't get a change to eat before I left the castle for here. You don't think we're eating dinner at seven, Do you?"

"Look at this garden!!" Storm shouted happily, finally letting her tight grip off of Scribe's hoof. Gazing at the hanging palm trees, the beautiful gazebo in the corner, a pony pouring water into a pond as a fountain, was matched with hundreds of kinds of plants, flowers and exotic fruits made Storm actually quiet.

Very nearly stumbling over again, this time from the sudden release, Scribe shook his head briefly before he could focus on where she had led him.
 
"Yeah, its very uh... garden-y?"
 
It was very nice, he just didn't really know much about how to describe a garden, nice as it may be. 
 
"Huh, I don't think many of these plants grow around here usually. I've seen a couple of them before..."

"Sure, I bet we can find something to eat: theres get to be at least two kitchens here if its anywhere near as big as it looks!" Wish nodded.

 

It would be good to explore, find out a little more about this place they had all been invited to: there was still a little time left before seven - whatever was supposed to happen then. "What do you think Blaze? You coming along?"

Blaze pulls on his neck cloth and nods. "Uh, yea sure. I'd like to get to know you guys a little better, might as well do something productive while I'm here right?" He chuckles slightly and begins to walk near Solar and Wish. He still had no idea why he was here, but he figured he should make the best of it.

The hall was lined with doors - most labeled with brass plaques describing their contents: library, kitchen, dining hall... among others. Some however, were blank. Trying the handle of one of the unlabeled doors and found it locked, though curiously, there was no sign of a keyhole.

"Huh, thats odd. How are there doors supposed to open? There's no space for a key or anything..."

Frost had been wandering around the massion and it's grounds to try and find somepony to talk to. He soon found himself lost in the large building trotting down a long hall and noticed a mare trying to open some doors. "Ummn....hi, do you mind if I tag along with you? I have no idea were I'm going." he said suddenly thinking how awkward it was. "My name is Frost by the way." he said sporting a small smile extending his hoof for a shake.

Mr. Re teleported here without the use of magic or witchcraft, he simply displaced the whole universe to his whim. In reality, The 

diluted colt had blanked out and walked all the way to Buckbery. When he first saw the lights and heights of the mansion, he gasped but 

 

shrugged it off shortly afterward.

 

"What a small house compared to the other ones I have been to."

 

The white colt stared out at the mansion. Hmm... his thoughts became blank and he refused to move.

 

"I've seen this place before." He said now, referring to the five seconds ago when he first peered at the grandeur abode.

She shook his hoof before nodding back at the door she had been trying to open.
 
"I guess these are the locked rooms that are off-limits... funny how I cant even see how they are supposed to open though."

Blaze looked intently at the door. All he could think of was how easily he could open the door, unless it was enchanted. He decided not to think about it, for the idea was fairly psychotic, so he looked away at the newcomer. "Hello Frost, I'm Blaze. Heh. It's nice to meet you."

Solar took a good heard look at the door also. "It's almost as if this door was welded shut. What ever is in there, the owner of this house must have never wanted to see it again. You would almost have to blast this door open, and with this place being built like a fort, that's no small task."

"I've never actually had a real house before, so I've never seen this sort of thing. Sorry if I startled you, I was  nojust really excited to see some friends. I'm actually not as hyperactive as ponies say I am, so.." Storm trailed off. "Sorry if we got off on the wrong hoof." Storm trotted back inside, then stopped again. "Do not tell ANYPONY I told you that!"

"Hello, hell-loowww..." He continued the howl for ponies that were nearby. " I came here for the free food." 

 

 

"Hello? Anypony out there?" He walked about the ever accumulating landscape. "Such a strange place, No food lying anywhere. If I was this rich I'd leave food around everywhere, some eaten, some not, case if I'm hungry." 

 

Mr. Re approached found some other ponies, three perhaps, talking around a locked door of some such.

 

"I knew it, There you guys are." He said from the far off corner of the yard.

 

 

"HELLLOOOOOO!!!!" He yelled at them.
