Best drawing of my OC.

I have recently began drawing. This is about my 6-7th drawing and I am getting better. I just wanted to draw my OC the best I could. Any criticism is helpful and I thank you for checking it out!

Have you ever taken any art classes? If not this is very impressive still to be sure! If I could give any constructive critizism it would be to aim at trying to clean it up using media programs like photoshop or flash or illustrator, but easier said then done if you dont have those programs. Very nice work though dude!

I have never had any art lesson and I never really started drawing until a few weeks ago. I have not taken any lesson because I strongly believed that I wasn't any good at it. Sadly I don't have any media programs but it would be nice and smart to have one. Thanks for your comment!

Pretty nice, but I have to be completely honest, your proportions are way off. The head is very small compared to the body and the hind legs are pretty awkward. I used to have this problem just I used to make my heads really big and my necks unnaturally thick. Just gotta use a pony anatomy chart and you got it right. Hope this is useful to you.

Like what PelateOvercast said, proportions. To me, it looks as if you were trying to add a three dimensional aspect to our picture by bring the chest more into the foreground, but you forgot the head. A simple fix would be to bring the head forward as well, or just keep the picture more two dimensional. Other than that, very well done for a six or seventh time.

I have notice this but I made this OC in comparison to me. I'm not fat but I am a pretty big. I do believe that the body should be a little smaller but I did want the body to be larger than usual. I suck at hind legs...

Well I hate to give critizism out of the fact I'm not confident in saying it right but they have a point in the proportions.

Hind legs can be tricky at times, for me it always depends on what they are doing, now if they are standing still or folded underneath the body in a lie down position then its typically easy for me, but when it comes to running or walking it can get a bit tricky. Oh and there are plenty of ways to exaggerate a pony's body size. You got to consider though how it would be interpreted of how big a male pony would look like though. For ex the peg pony from the show that always says 'YEAH!!!' he's enormous and its exaggerated greatly, where as most of the male ponys tend to be of a typical shape. Its ok to bring the chest size up on a male pony I think though to emphanzise the muscle strength, long as you try to keep to the style of MLP if thats what your aiming for.

 

For instance I'm making a pony to represent my father (RIP). My dad was a big man in the arms and chest. Keeping to the style still, the head is still quite big but I also exaggerated the neck some to the chest but kept his hips or bottom half small. His legs are of the same style and proportions as the male ponys but his front shoulders have a bit of an extra thickness to them. I wish I could post it but currently im in another country on a forign laptop that wont accept camera chips pfft. I'll try to remember to post it at some point to show you what im talking about. But to point this out, I've only just begun to practice the MLP style and I'm a 2D animator this is stuff I need to know if I were to get a job in any studeio, you know, being able to replicate a certain cartoon style. The style of MLP is pretty specific so I may not get it right myself on my own ideas, but I like to think I come close to it and even give the show a new form of pony for them to use if they ever noticed lol.
