Who is the best developer to replace Hasbro?

THQ (RIP) made previous-generation MLP games.

On-topic, EA? Owning stock in Hasbro because they have a partnership with Hasbro?

img-1860000-1-29529.gif

There's a difference between just simply signing an agreement and owning stock in a company. Does Nintendo own stock in Sega because they agreed that the next three Sonic games would be Nintendo exclusives? No. EA is more interested in buying stock in (or downright buying out) video game companies, not toy companies. EA does not produce toys or shows meant to advertise these toys, they produce and market video games. They have nothing to do with MLP or how it's going to continue.

The bottom line is that EA does not own stock in Hasbro, and it's silly to believe that they do because they signed an agreement with Hasbro to develop video games based on their IPs.

People in the beginning of my thread started to theorize about EA control Hasbro which was my theory in the beginning but not my main goal.

I want to share my personal point of view to vote the best company to inherit MLP's legacy, i don't think those Hasbro deserve that legacy anymore.

If another company were to take over MLP, they'd change it completely. They'd make it their own. They'd add their own characters. They'd change the personalities of the mane six. They'd make their own stories. They'd completely miss the point of MLP. It would be horrible.

Besides, MLP is, thanks to it having two audiences, very profitable right now. Do you really think that Hasbro should sell off one of its most profitable properties because you don't think they deserve the right to produce something THEY created anymore? That doesn't make any sense.

Yeah, Faust created G4, but MLP is Hasbro's property. If they want something to happen they make something happen, but allow the writers to come up with how that something happens. That's the long and short of it.

Am I the only one that would like to see Valve-logo-the-bald-guy.jpg

In charge of it? I mean Gabe's already a brony... It would be cool. Granted, we'd have to wait a while for new seasons, but they would be some of the best seasons ever.

If valve can take god knows how long to make Half-Life 3, who knows HOW long valve will make a season of MLP. Good news, they probably won't have any trouble making an episode until they reach a multiple of three. (ie 3,6,9,12 etc)

Hasbro. It's their show, not someone else's. Fan-animated episodes so far have been memefests (Sonic Rainboom), poorly animated, poorly written or poorly paced. Why? Because they don't "get" what makes MLP, MLP.

I am not talking about fan-made here! I am talking which companies or studios are capable enough to make MLP in the future if Hasbro doesn't deserve it?

Even i know it is their show, but their activities lately showing me that i am losing faith in them in capability of carrying the show to the higher stage of awesomeness like Pokemon, Star Wars, DBZ,....

So who do you think it is more capable of inheriting MLP than Hasbro?

You keep changing your arguments >_o

Hasbro is not trying to make MLP into a show like Pokemon, Star Wars (which, btw, is a poor example, as Star Wars TV shows sucked) or Dragonball Z. Those shows tried to fill a different role than MLP. MLP is trying to be an American-Canadian slice-of-life TV show with some adventure here and there. Nothing epic, really.

That is also the long and short of it.

I am not talking about turning MLP into Pokemon or Star Wars. I am talking about turning MLP into a legendary famous series in history. It is about being as popular and more recognizable like Star Wars and Pokemon.

That is what i am trying to say.

MLP is, as it is, very profitable, and doesn't look like that'll change any time soon. I doubt it'll become a "legendary" series though.

If saying the quality of the show, i don't think MLP didn't even reach the level of an adept tv show yet nor epic.

Reasons why i am in love with MLP because of the new fresh ideas that not yet been deeply mined yet and also the rich fanbase itself.

I am seeing that Hasbro is straying out its way, MLP is the golden chance of Hasbro in 100 years and chance to become legandary and famous but the slacking off of Lauren Faust and Equestria Girls have proved me enough that the show is going downhill.

I will give my final faith in MLP in Season 4!

But i would like to hear your idea of the best developer for MLP except Hasbro.

Lauren Faust was only involved with season 1. She has nothing to do with you being paranoid about season 4 before it even airs. At least watch season 4 before saying Hasbro isn't competent enough to own it. Besides, Hasbro isn't going to sell it, they've owned mlp since the 80's, and it's far too successful to let go of. Not to mention everything Hasbro ha done so far has been honesty quite good. You seem to only want to hear what you think is right, so why did you even ask?

You know what's funny? I may be one of few bronies that actually does not worship Lauren at all - I'm far more of the faith that the whole studio is a great team that knows what they're doing. When I look at Lauren's previous cartoon shows, they're not so bad, but they're not really my favorites the way MLP was. Plus, the MLP episodes that she wrote, I think end up being some of my least favorites (among them, things like season openers/finales being super-srs about princesses taking over the world with the magic of disharmony and anti-love)

I am not worshipping her but NEARLY everything in life almost has this common law that "Almost everything is created by its creator, pretty much screwed up when falling in the hands of other person."

The reason why I am so concerning with the future of MLP when observing Spongebob, it nearly immediately went downhill since Stephen left the studio. I am much more concerning when seeing the quality of the show is pretty much decreasing after Lauren leaving; Season 3 is a decent season with short number of episodes but Equestria Girls is a major facepalm which i never have since the facepalm of Ben 10 Omniverse. The actions of Hasbro lately are very similar of how EA pissing off their consumers,

I see that everyone of us has different opinion to each other, but when comparing the resurgence number of bronies from 2011-2012; those bronies were growing at that time like the storming river. When coming the end of 2012 and beginning of 2013, i don't see that storming river anymore and i have seen less MLP great quality artworks on the internet. Perhaps, we have been destined to die here in 2013 and let's MLP back to the way it supposed to be which meant for girls.

I don't know bro! But the show without creator usually isn't going to get much better when falling to other people' hands who having different points of view. But i will give MLP a chance for S4! If it doesn't get better, i will have to find the new company to inherit the legacy of MLP.

Really dude? You think you are going to be the guy to connives a company like, Disney or Cartoon Network to buy this 1 franchise? Or even connives Hasbro to sell it? Thats kinda crazy.

For one Hasbro has had this title for many, many, years and a whole bunch of other titles that have been good and bad. Look at Transformers for example. They have made many shows to that one. Some of them have been good and some have been bad. But, they still stick with it. Even if the show fails they keep the title and they just try and make a better show. So even if season 4 fails and they cancel the show, they well still keep the rights. It well just be used to make toys and they wont have a show for 2 or 4 years.

Also part of your argument does not make seances. Your saying the show wont get any better because Lauren left. So wouldn't the show go down even more if it went to a different company? Like you said, people have many different points of view. So wouldn't a new company also have the same thing? The creators they would give it to would want to tell it in their own way and not how it was in season 1. Animation would change, voice actors, and everything else would be different.

And one other thing, how are you going to convince another company to buy it? They well see, just like you, the number of fans are going down and it's not making the same amount of money it used to. So they wouldn't want to buy something that does not have good value anymore.

Well the reason why you don't see the storm anymore it because artist and creators are just calming down a little and want to do more stuff besides ponies. They want to talk about other stuff and make new works that aren't just around ponies anymore. They just want to do more now.

So to me it's like this. Some fan-doms are destined or get the big chances of lasting along time and some are just meant to last a while and just despair. Maybe Fims well get stronger after season 4 or maybe it well be bad and well just disappear after that. Only time well tell.

Your whole long-wided arguments against me seeming to be ruined by your simplest mistake "seances".

You see that my argument doesn't make "seances" because it makes senses.

I am theorizing that about the idea of the best developer in an alternate timeline to replace Hasbro; don't you get it?

I don't think you even read all my posts, the whole point of this thread is theorizing with a word called "IF MLP is felt from grace, who would be the best developer for it except Hasbro?" even " IF That well-deserved studio doesn't want MLP, so who exactly will perfect MLP except Hasbro?"

I didn't really like The Grand Galloping Gala to be honest. A Canterlot Wedding was a much better way of ending a season, even if it got a little violent at times (it's a kid's show, after all.) That wasn't written under Faust's guidance and it's a better season finale than one that was.

You can't write a single coherent sentence and continually change your arguments, and then you degrade someone else for a single typo? The nerve... and you still don't seem to get it. Hasbro has owned MLP since 1982 and it, along with Transformers, is one of their most profitable franchises. They are not going to let it go, even if you want to fantasize otherwise. They cannot survive off of one profitable franchise when they're based in a state with such a bad economy (Rhode Island.) The economic reality of Rhode Island is that the state economy is really, really bad, some decisions the state government made (such as giving $75m in taxpayer money to 38 Studios so they could produce Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, only to not be able to return the money to the state after the game is released and failed to reach its break-even point of 3 million copies sold) and some of Hasbro's own failed ventures haven't helped it much. Companies based in RI have to do whatever they can to survive, and if they have more than one profitable IP, that's great for them.

I'm probably only in this but I think Hasbro shouldn't go. Yes Hasbro doesn't make great decisions and I don't really like em too much, but there is one thing that I like about them and why they should stay. They are very lenient.

If they were a much stricter company, they would of taken down all Youtube episodes, and quite possibly much more Brony related content. You all got mad when they took down Fighting is Magic. If some other company were in charge, we may of lost much more than that. More importantly are the episodes put on Youtube, much of the fandom watches the episode son Youtube and much of the fandom doesn't even get The Hub channel. Many non-american Bronies watch the episodes on Youtube, if another company like say Disney were in control, almost all those episodes would be taken down and many Bronies would lose access to new episodes.

If you think about it, if Hasbro wasn't so lenient, the Brony community wouldn't have grown as much. Yes, as hard as it is to believe, Hasbro is greatly responsible for this community and this communities growth. The company a lot of this fandom doesn't like, helped make it prosper.

Another company may help the show, but it may spell doom for the Brony community. And I do not want to see this community decline.

I've read every post of yours in this thread, and the way you framed it was "MLP is starting to suck; who should replace Hasbro?" It sounded as if you *wanted* and were *looking for* other companies to take it over. You never framed it as a hypothetical from the beginning, and it sounded as if you thought that *ownership* of the property was something that was somehow interchangeable.

And Pinkiefan was making some valid points.  Okay, so you think that the show dropped off once Lauren Faust left.  So if another company gets the property, does that bring her back?  In fact, now it makes things worse, because not only have you lost Lauren Faust, but also everyone else that made the first couple of seasons so good.

Well isnt the show technically run and made by studio B? I mean I know that hasbro chooses what happens in some aspects but still.

Of course if I had to choose I'd say pixar, they seem like the best choice having a better track record especially recently.

And ea should never be in charge they do not make very many good choices as a company. :/

Ps. I don't really have a ton against hasbro, I'm fine with the show mostly for now.

Others have mentioned Nickelodeon as a candidate to "replace' Hasbro.  Viacom, which owns Nick, has been one of the strictest companies when it comes to taking down videos.  You can say goodbye to the fandom's Youtube presence if they were behind the property.

My Little Pony fandom would be tragic if it only exsists only for 4 years. Hasbro was pretty powerless to take the stand to protect its copyrights, because of one thing called the almighty dollar. Like you said that Disney will take down all those episodes, true!!

But how did they do it?? Extremely large wealth enough to fund their operation of protecting their copyrights.

When you compare both Hasbro and Disney, one is like a god and one is like a worm.

I have to say that Hasbro did really want to take down those episodes and protect their copyrights but they are powerless to do that because copyright lawsuits are expensive.

Now we will have two choice:

- To slowly watch this fandom ruined days by days by an idiotic company who is caring about the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR.

- Choosing the wrong company to cast Doom on My Little Pony.

(Both options are lethal)

The return of Lauren Faust is not particularly the main point of the thread. We want to find the best developer to make the show much better than it was; i think Hasbro is not just dumbing the show down but also wasting its golden chance for 100 years!!

(Pretty much the point of view called Hasbro sucks)

Now you say that to change the ownership of MLP to other hands is impossible!! -_-! Everything is possible in this universe!

EVERYTHING!

I was trying to establish a goal here for our bronies to open their eyes. Not just only that Hasbro sucks but to prove the thing that this fandom needs to expand and conquer the internet. I am trying to make you see that but in order to do that!

We will need the power of almighty dollar and a better development team. I am here making a questionaire to ordinary bronies or pegasisters here that who do you think will help to benefit this tiny society?

- Valve?

- Cartoon Network?

- Disney?

...... Adding more choices of developers in this list is up to you guys.

Even if you guys want to resurrect back Walt Disney or Chuck Jones back, i will be welcome to help you.

All you do is just debating and contributing your ideas

EVERYTHING!

So are you serious in trying to actually have another company take over MLP, or is this just a hypothetical, "what if" scenario?  Make up your mind!

At any rate, Hasbro is a company with a net worth of 1.39 BILLION dollars.  I think they could afford a few copyright lawsuits if they were so inclined.  The value of MLP is, at the lowest estimates, a hundred million, probably more.  And it's going to take a lot more than that for Hasbro to part ways with it, since it's quite profitable.

So.. where's this money going to come from?  $100 million plus isn't exactly pocket change, for *any* corporation.  What's the plan here?  And... what's the precedent?  When has one company bought the rights to a major franchise like this unless the other company was going bankrupt or something and needed to liquify its assets?  It would be like DC selling the rights to Batman over to Marvel.
