Let's try and keep the discussion in this thread rational and civil, try not to take some of the negative behavior on display here much further please.

As for the news, well, I never really had any hangups about Twilicorn, but it's nice to get some reassurance I guess.

A reminder to all that while this is a contentious issue, it does not excuse anyone from having to be basically courteous or to carry on a civil discussion. Just as supporters of Alicorn Twilight think it's ridiculous to be thought of as blindly loyal "Hasdrones" who will accept any concept or change, dissenters are also sick of being associated with hapless crybabies, complaining for the sake of complaining and shrieking about their fanon being ruined like in a Saberspark video.

 

Both opinions are legitimate and while debate is welcome, anything resembling personal attacks most certainly isn't. I don't think anyone here has their opinion solely to spite people.

No I'm not, I was active here when it hit the fan. You cannot even begin to understand to absurdity of some of the arguments against it I saw. It sounded like people preaching about the freakin' end of days. It was like a bad parody of negative fan reactions, Hell, did you see how Chad Loco(the familler faces guy) took Season 3? He called everyone that liked it lowest common denominator trash that ate up anything the writers gave them. He all but turned his back on the entire fandom and show after praising the show in his MLP retrospective just because of Twicorn. 

 

That's my issue, it's the not the disagreement but the absurd over-reacting. 

 

Thank you ignoring the last line of my post where I said I specifically referring the people over-reacting(as I said from square one the people bitching)(and the reactions in this thread arn't doing the sane one's any favors.), and the fact that to this day everyone I've seen bringing it up that vocally is arrogant and egotistical as all hell about it is pretty damning.

That sounds like lumping people into one category to me. You've never seen me refer to all pro-Twilicorn supporters as a bunch of delusional hasdrones refusing to criticise the show in a warped display of 'love and tolerance.' What you posted is practically the equivalent. And saying "I specifically said people bitching about it," doesn't change that.

 

And I did not 'ignore' the line: "That's my issue, it's the not the disagreement but the absurd over-reacting." I made note of the fact that you did not discern between haters and obnoxious haters; you merely said that the overreacting was your problem. You gave the impression that you considered absurd overreacting to merely be an annoying byproduct of Twilicorn hate, NOT a separate issue coming from a particular group of Twilicorn haters. If that was the point you were trying to make, it didn't come off in that way. Though I guess if I came off as egotistical, then I'm obviously coming off in the wrong way too.

 

The impression I got from your posts is akin to someone saying "I hate black people who commit crimes!" and then when people take issue with it, you say "What? I never said I hated black people, just the ones who commit crimes." It's difficult to take claims like that seriously. At least, that's the impression I got from your comments.

 

I get that in your past experience you've had to deal with a lot of obnoxious jerks who wail about 'the end of the fandom.' I get it. I think it's stupid too. But when I get lumped into the same category it pisses me off. In my experience, I've seen a hell of a lot of people from BOTH sides of the argument make ridiculous claims and spout crap. Saying "People should be proud of Twilight" is just as stupid as saying "Twilight is now a Mary Sue." Though in my personally experience I've had to put up with a lot more of the former, mostly because of my opinion.

When I say bitching, I mean bitching. There's a massive difference between calmly voicing a critical opinion and bitching. I did mark a difference, I said it was the disagreeing but the absurd over-reacting that got on my nerves.

The sad part? Some people on Equestria Daily are STILL being INCREDIBLY negative about this. Apparently nothing will satisfy those particular people but I don't care at this point.

which is a great deal more than say here.

When i showed the chart backing this up most people on here said
