How do I mention someone in a post

Ok I see how people mention someone in a post insted of just tagging them. How do I do that?

There are two ways you can do this...select a piece of someones text in a post and a pop up box will appear with the option to mention. Simply select that option and it will automatically mention someone for you

 

Or you can type it manually, which is simply this...

@[ member='ChikoritaBrony' ]  With no spaces between the brackets and the characters..

@, highlight a portion of text. the options quote, mention, and cancel will show up. click mention.

In the respond to a topic part, copy a ponies name, select Special BBCode, select Member, post their name in the new box, and then hit post. (remember to put @ infront of it thought)

You mention members by doing [ member='' ] and you put their display name in between the ''. I intentionally spaced out the brackets. Don't do that when you mention someone, or it isn't going to work.
