The name of the movie (be prepared to be terrible under whelmed which is why it's not in the title)

is

Masquerade.  Now wait, don't leave come back!  I know we've all peaked at Asian films and there are alot of dead air in movies like hero, crouching tiger hidden monkey, etc, etc.

 

And I wanna tell you this movie isn't a Martial arts movie that you have to wait through boring air time to get to the action.  ^^  ,,,....

WAIT COME BACK!

 

It's a period peace where (slight spoiler) a scoundrel is hired to impersonate the emperor (King?).  And

he is EPIC!

 

You know how alot actors come off annoying trying to be funny?  (I mean yes there's a little low brow humor) but there's some alot of humor in there.

 

He even eventually takes to his role and starts making decisions for himself, there's alot character development,

 

I swear I'd be the first to tell you after seeing things like Red cliffs (And I'm a romance of the three kingdoms fan) if this movie was a labor to watch,

but its really not.

 

I'd call it the best Asian movie I've ever seen.
The musical score is awesome, it's visually appearing, it doesn't drag,

it takes a familiar concept and makes it fun to watch.

 

I wish i could bribe people to watch this movie LOL.

I literally have no opinion on Masquerade until I see the movie for myself. So, I guess that until I see the movie I have nothing to say for now.

It was in the dollar section at family video.

 

If you got a rental store near you, the price is right. 

If I had to put this in MLP terms imagine replacing Celestial with

pinkie, accept she can pass for Celestial.

She starts off as a bit of a screw up, intimidated in her new role as a imposter but she learns not only to fill her role,

but ultimately out shining her predecessor.

 

I actually think that's a great analogy, oddly at how childish the main protagonist is.
