Tempest shrugged. "I honestly don't know." He said. The cyan pegesus then smirked. "Anyway, I can't wait for this thing to get started. I don't really care about the money, though."

 

Ivy nodded and smiled. "This should be interesting, then." She said.

 

A pony at a desk in the press box glanced at a mare with a white coat. "Aurora, why don't you go say hello to our fighters." He said.

 

The mare nodded. "Consider it done, Gemeni." She said, before trotting out the door.

Rut-Light entered the front doors of the place the said to go to, and to his delight he saw everyone else there as well; Frost, Ivy, Tempest and somepony with a blue coat and spectacles.  The front entrance itself looked some what like the entrance you would see in office buildings: white tile, a desk with somepony sitting in front of it and a clock to the right of the room.  Rut-Light walked casually up to the others and asked, "Hey everybody, who's this?" he asked, nodding towards the pony with the dark, blue coat.

Rut-Light entered the front doors of the place the said to go to, and to his delight he saw everyone else there as well; Frost, Ivy, Tempest and somepony with a blue coat and spectacles.  The front entrance itself looked some what like the entrance you would see in office buildings: white tile, a desk with somepony sitting in front of it and a clock to the right of the room.  Rut-Light walked casually up to the others and asked, "Hey everybody, who's this?" he asked, nodding towards the pony with the dark, blue coat.

Lucid heard a deep voice in his head "hey kid......... lo....look.....behind.... you... they....wanna.... meet..... yo... you....." 

"Dad!" Lucid thought he spun around and saw Rut-Light. "Aah!" he said in shock, then he looked at the ground "oh uhh... hello... sorry I uh... didn't uh see you."

Lucid stepped away shyly, "I uhh... need to go... to the restroom.

Lucid galloped away and locked himself in the nearest restroom his horn lit up "Souls..... listen.... Come... on... dad..." he muttered.

He saw a faint image of his father Epic Dream, "dad, I don't know if you can hear me, but I gotta do this on my own. Please trust me dad, I can do it."

No response. Lucid stopped channeling and exited the restroom, he slowly inched back to the rest of the group. "better keep a low profile, they can't know about my magic, not yet, I need an element of surprise"

"sorry, I'm Lucid," he said, "I just thought I might join the tournament," he said to Rut-Light slowly.... "yup... nopony special here..." he said shyly as he looked away from everyone else.

Clayton entered the arena, and noticed a certain cyan pegesus, along with his wife and friends. "Well, this should be interesting." He thought. "I guess I'm more or less the underdog of this little competition." The unicorn then laughed slightly, before trotting towards the group of ponies.

Tempest noticed Clayton and smiled. "Well, it seems we'll be having that fight." He thought to himself. The cyan pegesus then shrugged.

 

Aurora smiled as she noticed the last of the fighters enter the stadium. She grabbed a microphone and synchronized it with the speakers. "Hello, and welcome to the first annual tag team tournament. As you are all aware, you and your partner will fight other teams with the hopes of a stunning victory, and the rewards that come with it. Now then, here are the teams.

 

As she said this, a giant television screen, much like those found in a hoofball game, lit up with the bracket and which teams would be fighting who.

 

"Now, our first two teams to fight will be Ivy and Tempest Sol vs. Clayton Ward and Rut Light. All other teams can view the match, and even place bets on who'll win in the spectator boxes. The current fighters shall be given five minutes to report to the arena, or be disqualified.
