gaming Dungeon Keeper and War for the Overworld

So after digging out my old copy of number 2 a few days ago and HUGELY getting back into it I got to wondering has anyone here played the games?

It still holds up pretty well for its age and is a tonne of fun to play. I've lost count of how many times I've beaten it each playthrough having no loss of enjoyment.

 

I also was wondering to those who know it's a thing what do you think of it's spiritual successor War for the Overworld?

To those who haven't played what are your first impressions of the game?

I used to love Dungeon keeper 2 I played it a lot when I was like 14 or something and enjoyed every second of it. Never did beat it though. Kinda want to buy war for the overworld now though

Its early access one steam so go play the beta now ^^ I sure as shit am getting it on payday :3 nice to see someone else that's played it though but you should get a copy and play it through :3 last level is so epic XD

I still have my Dungeon keeper 2 copy laying around somewhere I think its on my game shelf, downside is I got a lot of games to dig through if I want to find it lol

XD ouch I know that feel. I thought I sold it a few months back so recently I'm digging through a box of old PC games and nearly hit the roof when I see the horned Reaper beckoning me from the front of that box XD

Both Dungeon Keeper and Dungeon Keeper 2 are real good games and some of my favourite managment games ever. Does suck though that they don't run well at all on my Windows 7 PC.

 

WFTO though looks like a good spiritual successor which I will certainly play.

I bought the early acess the first week it came out. I haven't played it in a while, since it's still in VERY early development, and there is not much you can do in the game, they keep adding stuff all the time, but don't expect it to be done anytime soon... But it will certainly be worth the wait! The game got lots of potential, being the spiritual successor of one of the best strategy games in history, it just can't go wrong, I hope. We've seen other games taking influence from DK, and just failed so bad. This looks extremely promising, and I bought the game the first week to show my support.

I'm a kinda young dude, so I haven't been with everyone during Dwarf Fortress and all that... But for me, DK/DK2 were/is two of the best strategy games I've ever played. They're just so awesome! Still, DK is hard to compare to other strategy games, it's not even simlar at all to, for example, Crusader Kings 2, Civilization 5... etc...

I think it was XP it was a nightmare to get number 2 to run XD I can't remember.

Well it has Peter Molyneux's blessing and say what you will about Lionhead but his Bullfrog days were glorious

I haven't seen Dwarf fortress either but hey WTFO is in early development and it's still much more entertaining than Dungeons so I have immense faith in the fans making what DK3 should be. I really wanna like Calypso because they have really good ideas but they execute them so poorly.

 

It's more like a Strategy/RPG/God sim XD a VERY shoddy mix that turned out to produce one of the greatest games I've ever played

Been a while since this thread was posted but to those who are interested the game has been updated ^^ I am calling upon my dark powers and resurrecting this thread to announce the addition of the Crypt and the Necromancer. The Heroes have gained a new unit which is the Templar if I recall. Still the game is HEAVILY beta so not much difference in other aspects of gameplay but I reckon we'll get that mini map REAL soon

If you are desperate enough like me go ahead and get it early access Just be warned, like ANY other Beta there are obviously some nasty bugs here and there like not being able to move the camera when you start the game

I'm a pretty patient pony xD I think I can wait for it :3
