Advanced Signature Tutorial

It's me again with a new signature tutorial for you guys! Today, I'll be running you through the process of creating an amazing looking signature. Here's a sneak peak on what you'll be creating today!

Render

First off, place the render within the canvas.

Then find a background that suits the signature and blends in well with the render.

After that, duplicate the render two times and leave the one on the very top untouched for now.

Once you've done that, set the first one to "Screen", the second "Color Dodge".

Now you're going to smudge it.

Once you've done that, use scatter and smudge the sides of the render within reason so it looks better.

Add some lighting and color to the signature by creating a new layer and taking a Soft Round Brush and place some colors on it.

Then color the render black on a new layer and put it on "Color Dodge" and a little bit near the skies/bright areas.

Go on Google and find some light effects and then set it to "Screen" or "Lighten", whichever suits best.

After that, add a Black to Red Gradient and set it to "Soft Light".

Once you've done that, create a new layer and "Apply Image" in the Image section.

Go to Filter>Distort>Displace, click Okay and then choose a random .PSD file.

After that, erase the bits that don't look good and it'll leave you with something like this.

Create another layer and then "Apply Image" again and then go to Filter>Blur>Guassian Blur and then set it to 10.

Once you've set it to 10, click Okay and then set the layer to "Overlay" and 25% Opacity.

Create a new layer and "Apply Image" then click on the Blur Tool with a Soft Round Brush and blur the background.

After you've blurred the background, sharpen the render itself.

And that's it! If you prefer to have a border around the signature, create a new layer, fill it in and Stroke>Inside, Soft Light the layer with 0% Fill.

If you want to add your name on it, just put it near the render and you're done! I added a Curves layer as well at the end.

Buh, buh, buh... I... Uh... Well, that's... Um... How do I photoshopping?

Lol in all seriousness, though... I loved the outcome of the tutorial, but I found it kinda hard to follow...

PRE-POST EDIT: Well, I read through it again, and it's making much more sense now. Thanks for the tutorial! :D

I've actually got a few signatures that are created with the same technique, which I might post here if this thread gets enough attention. laugh.png

I'm glad it's making some sense, since I didn't bother adding all those tiny bits where a Photoshop user would understand. smile.png
