Is there anypony out there who plays eve online. I love the game and I highly recommend it but I have only ever seen one name with an MLP reference.

I tried it but I didn't get it. I quickly got bored flying back and forth, which is what every quest was really. Combat was boring, I could only tell they were fighting because of the text, and I had to orbit around a broken ship for two minutes because I kept failing to loot it. I also LIKE grinding for my stuff, I don't want to wait for 7 hours and get free stuff, I want to put in some elbow grease and after and hour see the fruits of my labor. I also felt this sense of elitism and hatred of newbies by the players....does it get better? Because my initial experience was terrible.

After a while the quests get more complex as you get better at the game the combat gets better you fight more people and depending on where you are the hatred of newbies changes.

Used to play on and off. Found the most fun came from fighting other players...but that was the case in every other MMORPG I've ever played. I'd recommend it if you're looking for something distinctly different from the standard high fantasy World of Warcraft rip-off. It has quite a bit of depth and can be very unforgiving.

I believe ive spoken about EvE before on the forums, however i may aswell post here

 

I played EvE for a few years, last time i played was about a year and a half ago, i was the CEO of a mining and industry corporation , we were part of the alliance TnT as part of the Northern Collation, i don't really follow much of what is happening on EvE, i do check the updates now and then and i have been meaning to get back into it, im trying to rope my friends in to joining me too ^^

 

Last i checked, i have 2 Orcas laying around, several Hulks, Mackinaws and Retrievers, a Faction Fitted Loki and a few billion ISK laying around. The last time i logged on i bought a Fenrir Pilot from someone, but i sold him and the Fenrir when i quit.

As interested as I am in trying it, I don't want to pay the fee because I'm cheap and I'm already putting money into Star Citizen. I think it could be very interesting and I believe there was a three month trial on Steam at quite a low price at one point last week, but I don't think it is something I'd get into very easily. At the same time, if I did, it would likely consume all my time, haha.

You know what's cool though? If you get good enough, you can start to buy in game time with game money. You try the free trial, hate it? No harm done. Love it and it consumes your time? You use that time to pay for your membership.

I wasn't aware of the use of in-game stuff to pay for anything, but DoTA consumes my time anyways. I cannot add more online games to my plate, haha. No homework will be done. :-p

Maybe one day though.
