Pointless to be Concerned About the MLP Future?

Hey everypony! Are you all feeling bright?

I wrote this topic because there's something swirling in my mind about something. There was this discussion on Equestria Daily in August about the pony redesigns for the so-called Generation 5 of My Little Pony. That made me concerned on what to expect after season 4. There might be a season 5 and onwards but I dunno.

But a question suddenly struck my head. Is it pointless to be concerned about what to expect even when season 4 is underway? I think it might be because we don't have the Pinkie sense to find out what will happen.

Thinking about the future can be a scary thought...but do you think I should stop imagining ahead of myself, relax and enjoy the fun around here? I just don't want to be some of those people who dislike changes to things we loved the most.

Lets just hope they tie up all the loose ends of G4 first. If they do that then we can look upon G5 as a blank slate.

That way even if G5 were to be bad. It wouldn't ruin the memories we have of G4... or you could just do what everyone else will do. rewatch S1-3 and beyond that, headcannon. :P

Yeah, re-watching the episodes might do the trick as the fandom goes forth to the great beyond. We'll just see what G5 would look like if it comes.

I think G4 still has a bit ahead of it. FiM is still very popular and Hasbro will keep it alive as long as they make money on it. And there are a still a lot of possibilities with these characters and with this setting for new stories. Of course we will see what happens after Season 4 but I'm pretty sure we are gonna make it to Season 5 or 6 at least.

As for G5, only time will tell. I hope it will carry on the legacy (and fandom of G4) while finding it's own identity. I think most bronies will give it a chance and since the "real target audience" is always there ,learning from G4 I think the team behind G5 will try to attract bronies too.

Okay, I understand what you told me. I can already feel the swirling in my mind calming down. It was just that I saw a discussion topic on Equestria Daily about what I said earlier. Thanks.

My initial reaction when I saw the thread title:

While there has always been an anxiety that something good that's ongoing would soon end or change, I don't think I've seen it as much as I do in this fandom.  To be sure, Hasbro is a business and is always planning ahead.  With that said, G4 has a lot of life left in it.  We may not agree with everything they do, but Meghan and her team want to continue a good, well thought out series that maintains the great crossover appeal that has made FiM a smashing success so far.

Generation 4 of MLP seems to have a pretty long life expectancy as far as we know. It's possible that it could last a while before Hasbro would plan out a Gen 5 and even then; it would possibly take place in a canonically universe that Gen 4 took place just different time period and location so everyone we use to know would be gone.

Who knows, maybe G5 would retain G4 artistic concept, and maybe, just maybe, it'll be even better than the former one. Who knows, the changes Hasbro might make to simply please their G4 fans might be good.

I must say, thank you all for telling me that the show is still on a healthy road so far. I think the swirling in my head is completely gone now.

In my headcanon, G5 will be titled "My Little Pony: Friendship Crusaders" It will feature Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo at about the age of the mane 6 in FIM. Princess Twilight will send them on a quest that will take them to all corners of Equestria in a search to find the lost spell-book of Starswirl the Bearded. It will be needed to prevent some cataclysmic event threatening their world. Possibly a collision with another planet!

That could be a good story. Cutie Mark Crusader superheroes! I wonder if doing that will finally get them their cutie marks...or not.
