gaming Opinions on Dead Rising 2?

Opinions, I hear from a lot of people it sucks.

 

 

I don't complain since I got it for free, but it wasn't very good IMO:

 

Pros:

Awesome weapons

Fun free roam

Funny character custimization

Blood 

 

Cons:

Awful controls

Timer

Gets boring after a while

Optional missions

Too hard (for me)

OP bosses (WAAY OP)

Can't keep katie alive without the minigame thing.

I have only played the original Dead Rising but I liked that one! I enjoyed how free I was to tackle objectives and side missions and pretty much do whatever I want within the time given to me. Felt very organic that way. The controls are okay for the most part. Except for shooting and throwing objects. That was horribly done. The story is nothing much to talk about. It's there it gives context to what happens and it's just not worth mentioning beyond that. The psychopaths (bosses) are fun but I didn't really find anything really cool about them. Still, they bring little personality to the game and that's always great.

 

Most people seem to dislike the time limit. I didn't. I think it added another element to the game which helped shaped the events withing the story, made situations actually feel urgent (because if you didn't act in time it could have fatal consequences for some people) and another element of management. Again, giving the game a more organic feel.

 

All in all, despite it's faults I enjoyed Dead Rising. I wouldn't call it a classic but it's a lot of fun.

Dead rising 2 was good, but I like Off the Record better

 

• more area to explore
• take photos for XP (much the same way as the original dead rising)
• more crafting
• Sandbox Mode
• more Frank West!

 

though I have to admit, Dead rising 2 was good, I enjoyed mucking around with friends on co-op (well, until the GFWL servers shut down)

Dead Rising 2 is a fun sequel to the original, but I prefer Off The Record to Dead Rising 2. The co-op is pretty enjoyable.

Okay, I'll level with ya. Single player? It probably won't be that enjoyable.

 

And I know judging a game based on a co-op experience is kind of a cop out move because, "Hey, I'm playing with my friend so I'm going to have fun" right? But seriously, just grab one of your closest friends. Dress up. And goof around to your hearts content.

 

Me and a close friend laughed until we almost passed out we had so much fun with all the goofy things in the game you could do! Racing through a crowded mall full of zombies on tricycles wearings a sundress and a banana hammock? It doesn't get much more fun than that my friend.

 

I could go on for quite awhile but hey, who needs to after hearing that? WHO I ASK YOU?
