Lightning Bliss 1,674 November 18, 2013 Share November 18, 2013 For some of you this can be realistic or fantasy or even a bit of both? For me its kinda both because I never imagined it would happen, but my goals to build a house of mine and my fiance's dreams is very very real. After doing some research and establishing what we want in a house, we both agreed that less is more, long as its big enough to hold our stuff, the morgage isn't out the wazoo and its in a location closed to family and the countryside as well as the urban areas. I looked up this one website called Tiny Texas Houses, not only do you not have to worry about a morgage when contructing with them and building your own home, but they average in homes from 20 to 100 grande in building, using reliable recycled wood and stone. They also have home sizes ranging from the super small meant for a single person of 130sqft, to the 800 - 900 sqft that me and my fiance would want. It wold be an invesetment for us because that's still alot of money, but our dream home we aim for is something along the lines of this: https://www.etsy.com/blog/en/files/2012/09/karen_brown_mortgage-free_tumbleweed3.jpg Why so small and cottage style? Well to be honest, I HATE cleaning, I also believe in the that having a big space leaves room for collecting things you dont actually need. He and I been in a small bedroom most of our lives, we are used to small spaces. Plus its less cleaning issues, less money spendings on AC or Heating as well as electricity, we could customize the setup. We don't really aim for children but if we did this size would be perfect for 3. I do hope to start investing and saving up for this goal and dream and do hope to add more to this thread that is if anyone takes an interest. 1 I'm just a silly little alicorn, trying to get by in the fandom ^^ The Lightning Bliss Show Lightning Bliss DevianArt

Demirari 454 November 18, 2013 Share November 18, 2013 A large house looking over a lake. A mountain from my houses back balcony view. A small forest around it and warm all year round. Wooden frences around my house with a road leading to a city. The house must be three stories high with stainless glass at places. A modern one built out of steel and glass (except for certain areas if you know what I mean ^^'.)
Lightning Bliss 1,674 November 18, 2013 Author Share November 18, 2013 Already getting more creative responses here. I tend to think more realisticly of the house we want since we REALLY want to have one of our own one day, aim high but stay realistic by our means I guess is how I view our dream home. We live more in areas here, suburb but still country inland: http://www.unitedcountry.com/picturesx/35061-20271-3029298.jpg http://jimsbikeblog.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/in-the-texas-hill-country.jpg I'm just a silly little alicorn, trying to get by in the fandom ^^ The Lightning Bliss Show Lightning Bliss DevianArt

Lightning Bliss 1,674 November 18, 2013 Author Share November 18, 2013 Its what I plan on doing somewhat but thers always that possibility that homes aren't avaliable like that. But you never know lol And ya what you see is green now, but in TX we are in a bad drought, this is our raining season, its greener in our fall and sometimes winter but when summer hits...its bone dry dead and brown... Keezuw 107 November 18, 2013 Share November 18, 2013 Nice dream houses, you guys. c: My guy and I love to talk about our future dream home. Nothing tooo specific though, just rough ideas. ^___^ - Around the suburban area. (Though, we also wish to be slightly away from places with too many lights around.. Because we want to be able to see all them stars at night<3 ) - A huuggee kitchen. We'll be spending a lot of time in there. He's a chef, and I'd want to have a lot of space to be able to bake and make messes with our future children. - He also wants an outdoor kitchen/family barbecue area. - A huge garden, filled with cherry blossoms trees and a lot of other plants that interest us. Maybe even build a treehouse too. - A game room for my dear gamer. - He loves the water.. so we could either live by a lake of some sort, with his very own sailboat, or a mini one inside our garden, or maybe a big swimming pool.. Or all three! Ohohor~ - He wants an indoor gym. - Some sort of mini attic room.. Where you can crawl in, and look up (skylight thingo) and see all the stars upclose at night. + telescope - Big and spacious enough to have all of our families and friends over. We want ahem four children one day anyways, so a big comfy house would be pretty ideal. ^^ That's the only thing I can remember right now, but yeaahh~ C:
Sir Xarthas VI 470 November 18, 2013 Share November 18, 2013 I'd like to have a semi-large house (2400 sq ft) on the side of a mountain. looking down to a large lake, and at the coast of the lake a large forest, with no trails or roads leading to it, so it's all mine The house needs to have a semi-steep roof, and it has to be camoflauged, so it wont be noticed on the side of the mountain. The inside of the house with be red, orange, black, and a very dark grey (see Gun Metal Grey). That's pretty much all I can think of at the moment. If you want more details on the interior or exterior, ask me. Feather Spiral 1,892 November 18, 2013 Share November 18, 2013 Seems like the countryside is a general consensus here, with a mountainside and lake view as bonuses. No surprise I guess, any sane human being really hates the oppressive atmosphere of cities, haha. I'm no exception to this rule as I really wanna try small towns, though I'd prefer someplace with public transport access. If you heard of the game Morenatsu, that's someplace like Waterfront/Minasato. Today when I had an internship interview in a research complex, for example. I was quite enchanted by the greenery and the nearby lake (however artificial). It was connected to the rest of the city by bus, exactly like Minasato is to Fuunari in Morenatsu. As for building it, I think I already uploaded a dream house (literally, seen in a dream one night) to my Tumblr. You know my username feathery-dreamer, just search Hindsight and you'll come across the map of a 2-storey house (minus the attic and basement I haven't bothered with but I'd like them too). I take writing commissions. I used to be a stranger 7,993 November 19, 2013 Share November 19, 2013 I don't give much consideration as to what house I should like to live in. I've never given much consideration to interior design though I admit it has more of an effect on me than I'm aware of. All I can think of is that I'd like it to be away from traffic and streetlights to some degree so that noise doesn't come inside at night. I like trees and small flowers, so the elements of a small garden would be nice. Though I wouldn't want the tree too close to the house, lest in the fall needles/leaves end up on the roof. That just adds extra maintenance...
Lightning Bliss 1,674 November 19, 2013 Author Share November 19, 2013 I admit I don't think about furniture either, I go shopping, I see something we like then thats what we use lol! But for decorating and such well our franchises do that for us. I'd love decorating the inside of our home with posters of our favorite movies or franchises. We have alien figures all over the place, pics of our family and friends, pony stuff of course and trekkie and alien and star wars stuff. The list of what we want to do decorating wise goes on. But I still want our house to be small and cottage style, I always loved the cottage style, dunno why, fairy tale inspired I guess. 1 I'm just a silly little alicorn, trying to get by in the fandom ^^ The Lightning Bliss Show Lightning Bliss DevianArt
