planning Unofficial expanded MLP lore: looking for opinions.

So, we all know MLP.

We have roleplays based off of it which are excellent, and the Equestrian Empire for lore-friendly RP.

What I see a lot of the time though, is folks on the border: wanting to stay lore-friendly, but not quite fitting into the EE rules. I am proposing a happy medium: a set of guidelines that explain the known lore of MLP and then branch out into logical, expanded and unofficial lore - giving explanations and guidelines on how things that could exist, but are never shown, might work in a RP.

Of course, it wouldn't be anything official: simply a guide I'd be happy to sink far too much time into so that if someone who wants to RP in a lore-friendly way, but doesn't meet the Equestrian Enpire rules, they have a quick, easy reference to say 'we are using these guidelines' rather than write pages of rules and inspecting every single character with a microscope.

Even as I write this, it seems like more and more of a foolish idea... but hey, I've written it now: might as well go ahead and post it!

---------------

Let me give an example: we see Ponies and we see Griffons in MLP. We never see Hippogriffs. Logically, these are very likely to exist - however rare. They wouldn't fit into EE rules as they are non-canon, but with a simple reference to this, there would be a summary if them, their temperament, culture, etcetera.... ready to be used in regular roleplays without tedious explanation every time.

Opinions? Want to just tell me I'm stupid? Discuss!

Huh, was hoping that even if folks didn't like the idea, they would say so. So far I'm not getting much information one way or the other.

Since this is likely something wider than just for role playing, and RP forums have weird forced formatting, I'm going to post on the creative resources forum I think.
