Ambrose slowly drew out of the wing snuggled and laid down on her bed again. "Same here no ponies ever trusted me... Or kissed me" there was something about Dust she found interesting, but she couldnr place it . As she lay on her bed. She looked over at dust and thouht.

Dust let Ambrose go to her bed, he walked over to her and kissed her on the cheek. "I'm sorry Ambrose, I'm really tired now. I don't know why though. C..can we talk in the morning?" He asks, he really liked her, even to the point of saying love, "Th..there is one more thing, before I go to bed."

Ambrose smiled up at him. She was enjoying all this kisses. "What is it Dust? She asked, slightly concerned. She didn't want to make him do anything he didn't want to do, he seemed to want to tell a story, but she wasn't sure. Stories could very painful. She knew.

"Ambrose, I want you to be yourself around me, and by that I mean your intelligent, sweet, kind, caring, understanding and beautiful self. I want you to do as much tinkering and engineering as you want. I want you to enjoy life. I never want you to change, especially if would be for me. For, I feel, if a pony asks or makes another pony change for them, then they don't really like, or dare i say, love them. So please, be yourself. Oh and, you can always come talk to me if you ever need somepony to talk to." He smiles at her.

Ambrose stood and hugged him. "Your the firs stallion aside from my father who has ever said that to me." She whispered. She wanted to make him something but she wasn't sure what to make "if you ever need anything made let me know, I could use another project"

Dust smiles, "Well i meant every word of it, and I will." Maybe a shield with the two of you? hmm? His mind suggests, Maybe later, don't ruin things. "Ambrose, maybe tomorrow, we could go find my favorite spot in the EverFree Forest. My friend Indy showed it to me."

Ambrose nodded in agreement "okay that's fine, but on Thursday I have to work." Se said. She still needed to make a living so she could keep the house running for we as Dust. Maybe dust would help her on Thursday. That would make it way less boring with a friend to talk with.

"Then it's settled, tomorrow we'll go to my favorite spot, and you will find out why." He says, just before he leaves he says, "Goodnight beautiful and I hope you have pleasant dreams." He smiles and makes his way to the guest room. I wouldn't mind living here with her, but I'm not going to rush things. Nope.

Ambrose almost instantly stood up began to work once more. This is what she did when ever she was nervous.

After a night of restlessness, Dust wondered if Ambrose had the same sort of night, so he decides to go and check on her.

"Morning beautiful, how was your night?" He asks in a gentle and soothing manner, "oh and shall I make us breakfast? What would you like?"

Ambrose was a bit shocked that he had just walked in, but was also touched that he cared so much. Ambrose shook her head. "It's for I can do it" she shook sleep off her eyes. She had only gotten 1 hour of sleep. She went to the kitchen and began to make haycakes.

Dust could smell the haycakes and walks into the dining room. "MM haycakes, how did you know they were my favorite?" He asks, "Oh and I didn't even get 1 hour, well I did sleep, but it was restless. Not your fault though, just....just some reoccurring nightmares that I keep having."

Ambrose slowly flipped the cakes. "You can tell me about it if you want, that sometimes helps" she said. Dust was a very forward pony who almost never held anything back. Ambrose liked that because that meant he was almost always honest with everypony

"Well...it was about the changeling invasion. I was frontline defense. Fighting off a group of changelings all by myself. When I suddenly heard a mare scream, I called for backup and they came, I went to defend the mare, and up until last night, I never got to see the mare, as I had my back to her, defending her, but this time... As I lay on the ground, bleeding to death, and with the last bit of breath I had, I looked up a the mare, the mare, Ambrose, was you.....I looked deep into your beautiful eyes but then mine forced themselves shut, and then i died." He retells his nightmare to her, tears swelling up in his eyes.

Ambrose went over and hugged him , trying to prevent the tears from spilling. "Don't cry dreams can't hurt you" yet dreams still could. She was always terrified of her dreams which is why she slept so little. The haycakes began to burn on the stove but Ambrose hugged him instead, he was more important

He hugs her back, "I know, but these dreams, they are why I had to leave my job as a guard."  He wipes some tears away, "Ambrose, you have done something for me that nopony could ever do. You have helped me. you have helped me somewhat forget about my depression, anxiety and PTSD. Ambrose, you are special."

Ambrose drew back slightly. She felt bad that Dust was always complimenting her and she had nothing to say Ib return "am not that special" she whispered. The only special about her was that she was an alicorn with no wings. She turned off the stove as one or the cakes caught fire.

Ambrose laughed "thank you Dust" she said. "Now haycakes, lets try this again shall we" she cleared of the pan and resources the batter this time watch them closely to keep them from catching fire. They were finally done and Ambrose forked them on two plates, and sat down.

"you're welcome. and thank you for breakfast. How about I at least clean up afterwards? And then I can take you to my favorite spot." He says with a big smile, he seriously hadn't smiled like this in a long. long time, for oncein his life, he was truly happy. He wanted her to know. "Ambrose, you make me smile."

Ambrose smiled shyly back, as she washed the dishes. She as no problem with doing it and was fine with getting her hooves dirty . "It's no problem" she said as she finished up the pan. Then she went over to Dust " right, you can lead the way" she said I him. Ambrose had no idea where he was headed.

Dust offers her a hoof, "Right this way." They walk to the EverFree Forest, and after about an hour of walking through it,they reach a spot where there was sunlight, birds were singing and an array of beautiful flowers. "Well here we are, you can see why I love it here."

Ambrose lay down on the soft grass and looked at the patch of blue sky through the trees. The bursa were all around and the flowers smelt wonderful. "This is amazing" she said I Dust. She had never actually been in the forest and in her opinion it wasn't that scary. Maybe because of Dust.

Dust picks up one of his favorite flowers and puts it in Ambrose's mane, behind her left ear. "there, a beautiful flower, for a beautiful mare." He says smiling at her, "and yes it is lovely here, so peaceful and tranquil.. You know, those stallions at the college, they were jerks, and any pony who doesn't think you're wonderful, well they don't deserve your attention."
