Scootaloodle 1,623 November 29, 2013 Share November 29, 2013 (edited) I’m 25 and people must think of me now as an official adult or something: as when I buy stuff that’s age restricted even at places no body recognizes me I don’t get ID very often. And I’ve heard people call me an ‘adult’ or ‘man’. It always feels a bit weird to be called an adult: because I don’t feel older than maybe 14 or so at all inside (although I don't have a defante age I feel like). And despite the beard and all the puberty stuff that happened to me I don’t look in the mirror and see an adult staring back. My brain so to speak calls me a rotten liar when I try to convince it I’m now that age that I’m adult (well sort of) Is that normal? Does anyone else ever feel like that? FoxyCryptid 4,330 November 30, 2013 Share November 30, 2013 I think I've heard it put this way: We only masquerade as a adults because it's what society expects of us. Walt Disney also said that adults were just children grown up. So, yeah. It's good to keep your inner child alive and keep that careless innocence alive in some way. 3 "You know, I don't know who or what you are Methos, and I know you don't want to hear this, but you did teach me something. You taught me that Life's about change, about learning to accept who you are, good or bad. And I thank you for that." -Duncan McLeod.
Malinter 3,064 November 30, 2013 Share November 30, 2013 As a rule of thumb. "Old" is always someone 10 years older than you. "Young" is always someone 10 years younger. 4 My OC's: Malinter, Rahl, Vengeful impact & alias-the-marked-one First fic i've written since forever here Skype: Malinter@Outlook.com "Defeating a sandwich only makes it tastier." most legendary quote ever. Shanks 10,816 November 30, 2013 Share November 30, 2013 It depends sometimes I feel like an adult and sometimes I feel like a child and whether or not that is a good thing depends on the situation. When I watch cartoon or play video games unless it is anything explicit or somewhat suggestive I tend to feel like back when I was a kid and things were much simpler. I feel like an adult at work because my job entails a lot of responsibility and I do have to rise to the occasion but when I get overwhelmed which is far too often for my taste I am reminded of all the dark times in my younger years when I struggled to make sense of a world around me which pressured me to conform to it. 2 Rarity Get's Cockroaches
Fluttershyfan94 5,742 November 30, 2013 Share November 30, 2013 I feel that way, I feel like I'm a bit younger then I am. Though because I look younger then I am, I don't have a problem with it. I guess I look my age, though I do feel younger on the inside and I think that's normal. Since age is just a state of mind. There are plenty of people that feel this way, like I said age is just a state of mind. 3 DA: http://fluttershyfan94.deviantart.com/ Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/Fluttershyfan94
Scootalove 10,689 November 30, 2013 Share November 30, 2013 Age is just a state of mind, which is rightfully so. I feel like a child even though I have grown up far from that but, it's hard for me to be used to who I am if the child inside of me is screaming inside to tell me to have some fun. I don't think about it too much but, when I do I feel like I'm younger on the inside. 2 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Red Diamond 549 November 30, 2013 Share November 30, 2013 I feel that as well, but I feel older. I turn 16 on April 5th, but my mental age is 42 years old, and yes, you can actually measure that ATTENTION!! I DO NOT TAKE REQUESTS!
Moonlight 7,287 November 30, 2013 Share November 30, 2013 Sounds normal to me. Personally, I feel older on the inside and people always mistake me as older than I actually am. 1 matching setups with my bff pathfinder
~Master~ Button Mash 2,307 November 30, 2013 Share November 30, 2013 Oh that sounds so much like me. Even though I'm 20, I still don't feel ready to do a lot of the things I'm supposed to be doing right now - dating, being independent, etc. I mean I do those things (or…try), but I still don't feel ready. Maybe I'm just a late bloomer IDK... 1 Follow me on Tumblr! http://stratosthestallion.tumblr.com
