First time drawing this pony...

It's Doctor Whooves, and this was my first time drawing him. I feel that the neck is a bit thin, but I'm not sure, especially since it's somewhat in my art style. Thoughts?

Just keep up the work, try to improve and such. Sketches like these are great for practicing. As for the neck, as you mentioned that it's your art style, well there's no need to change it if that's your style. There's no rule, or correct way to draw.

only critism i could give is that he feels a bit too tall(not the neck, i think the neck is PERFECT! the legs however seem a bit tall.)

but is a great sketch all the same!

Not a bad first attempt. If you are aiming for show-accurate, everything seems quite thin. I think there is potential for you to develop a pretty cool style. I don't know if you have referenced any guides, but if not, this is a link that helped me out when I first started, but there are plenty more out there. Practice makes perfect, keep it up.

@Tromino: No tutorials! I used some reference images for the head shape, mane and tail, but that's all.

 

@MyLittleParody: Legs seem to get longer every time I draw ponies in my style. It is starting to get a bit out of hand, so I'll keep that in mind.

 

@Frith: I was aiming for less show accuracy and more my own style.
